We had a fantastic time. The house was great. The view was terrific. Our family had a great experience.

We loved our stay and it was a perfect base for exploring the area during the day, and returning for peaceful happy hour/reading times with beautiful sunsets from the back deck overlooking the bay. We were a three-generation family and having the main bedroom with en suite bath on the same floor as the living area was a great plus for anyone concerned about ease of mobility. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, and all beds really comfortable. Beautiful location and easy driving distance to hikes or walks on the island or in Harpswell, and we loved heading to Boothbay for the day. One thing to note is there is no restaurant or anything really on the island, but within 10 min there are a few restaurants, ice cream shop.

Rental property was very clean and well stocked with just about everything you could think of -- all we needed was food. We particularly enjoyed the cabinet full of board games. Great access to the waterfront, and loved the three sliding/screen doors that opened onto to deck overlooking the water. I would stay there again, and absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Very positive experience overall. Would definitely go back.

Location was perfect for us. Direct view of the cove with a floating dock. We set up chairs to read on the dock every day and enjoy the beautiful views. The house had everything we needed, including air conditioning! Only needed to use the units a couple of times, but appreciated that we had them. Close to Brunswick and Freeport for dining and shopping. Short drive to Cedar Beach and the Giant Stairs walking trail on Bailey a island.

The house was excellent and offered everything you needed…a true home away from home experience. Kids loved playing outside and using the dock and had plenty of space. House was filled with all the essentials and then some. Great space to cook and share meals. Sunsets on the back deck were priceless. We had an excellent stay and would definitely return or recommend to others!!

Gorgeous and comfortable
This is our second time renting this property. It is comfortable and a beautiful location. The owner was responsive and communicative. There is no place better in the summer!

Spectacular
The location and views from the property are spectacular! We enjoyed watching the wildlife and exploring the many beautiful areas of Mid-coast Maine. The property is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated.

Our family (2 adults and 2 teens) loved our stay on Orr's Island! This property was very well equipped, perfectly appointed and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the tranquil setting on the deck overlooking the cove. The kitchen was very well equipped and newly updated, making it very enjoyable to cook in. It had everything one could possibly need to prepare and serve meals! Families with teens should know that the nearest large beach with bigger waves is about a 45 minute drive (Popham Beach-absolutely beautiful and worth the pleasant ride). Renters should know that since this is an island property, residents use well water for their homes. During our stay, there was an odor associated with the running water. The property owner was very responsive and sent someone over right away to look at the filtration system. We appreciated the owner's prompt attentiveness. All in all, we absolutely loved this property and would return in the future!

This house is located on the beautiful Orr's Island/ Bailey Island peninsula. Brunswick is an easy 20 minutes, as is the Harpswell peninsula. The kitchen is well stocked; linens and towels are very nice and plentiful. The house is very clean and the decor is perfect for a relaxing vacation. The view of Reed Cove is beautiful from the house and the many comfy chairs on the deck are great to take advantage of the views. The water in the house does have a constant sulfur smell. We had a problem with the hot water when we got there but the owner is responsive and her brother came over to fix things when needed. Note that the one single bed is in a loft so not good for small children who go to sleep earlier than the adults hanging out in the living spaces below (because of noise). Overall, we really enjoyed our two weeks.

Lynn's property is a beautiful property with a stunning view of the water. We needed a getaway to de-stress after covid, and this was just what we needed. If you are looking for a place, you will not find anything better.

Labor Day 2020
The home was very comfortable for my small family (myself, husband, and 21 month old son). It was the perfect setting to immerse ourselves in the beauty of Maine. Every time we looked out the back there was a Great Blue Heron. My son enjoyed going up and down (and up and down) the steps. We all feel rested and more connected after spending a week there. Highly recommend!

Wonderful week in Maine
We had a truly terrific week staying on Orrs Island. The house is in a beautiful location and was very comfortable. It was well equipped and immaculately clean. We loved being able to walk from the house to the Bowdoin Coastal Studies trails for hiking, under a mile away. We would definitely rent the house again - next time for at least 2 weeks - a week wasn’t enough!

Superb sunset views
The house is 30-40 feet above the beach so the views are fantastic of the changing tides and sunsets. A family of bald eagles was seen daily, and Canada Geese fly in each evening to roost in the bay. The back deck runs the entire length of the house, allowing for outdoor meals, reading, birdwatching, and just enjoying the views. Multiple hiking trails are within a short drive from the house as well, allowing for a daily walk in the woods and/or along the shoreline. I wish now we'd stayed 2 weeks instead of 1...

Awesome Sunsets!
The views from this house are amazing. There’s a reason the street is called Sunset View Lane! The owner is pleasant and professional. The house is charming and very clean. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Graduation Stay
Our family spent a long weekend at Lynn’s home over our daughter’s college graduation weekend. The home was a delight in every way. Close to the center of Brunswick but near the Giant’s Steps and other outdoor activities. Well appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The home more than lives up to its online profile. We would stay again in a minute.

Beautiful, well-appointed home
The setting and decor of this home are great. We enjoyed the isolation with close enough proximity to Brunswick and Bath. We were disappointed we couldn’t use the fireplace or open the windows upstairs. Even though it was cool outside at night, we were forced to use the window ac units since it got very hot upstairs. Plus the upstairs bathroom is tiny. If you are just using the master bedroom on the main floor it is perfect. Grandparents traveling with use really enjoyed the master bedroom and loved the well appointed kitchen, although they only managed to maneuver the many flights of stairs down to the water once.

A great week
For renting a house, the decor was nautical, cheery and welcoming. The kitchen was stocked with extras like spices, coffee, tea, coffee makers, very nice dishes and lots of pots and pans. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows good. I did not have to use my favorite pillow. Also laundry soaps were provided. Basically, Lynn thought of everything. I felt I was not in a rental but visiting a good friends house. Everyone was impressed. Would recommend this house for rental.

Very comfortable and amazing views of water and nature
Great layout, well equipped and well maintained- relaxing experience. Peaceful, spectacular views and lots to do.
We took a day trip to Boothbay Harbor, enjoyed and restaurants in Brunswick and visited Estes for twin lobster special overlooking the harbor and gorgeous sunsets.

Love This Cottage
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maine. The cottage was so much more than most rental homes we've stayed in. This one felt like home; comfortable seating, cottage decorations, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect with walking trails close by. There were beautiful peaceful views from decks, living room, dining room, and master bedroom. Convenient garage and large mud room with washer and dryer. Everything was clean and well maintained. Shopping and restaurants close by. We fell in love with Maine, looking forward to a return trip.

The perfect place to experience Maine!
When you think of Maine and your expectations and visualizations about your trip here, this is the perfect place to experience it! The minute you walk in the door you feel like you are in your own home away from home. The natural wood brings to mind feelings of a cabin-getaway and senses are delighted even more by the artful interior design of sea and nautical themes. Seconds later you turn to find the bay in front of you and that's all you can talk about and absorb as you repeat over and over, " Look at that view." It's hard to take yourself away to move on to the rest of this beautiful home.
The master bedroom views will continue to bring awe, not only of the bay but also the king size bed and TV. After a few minutes of joyful contemplation you turn to find a spacious closet and bath, both welcoming you to your cottage experience. The kitchen and dining room are anyone's pleasure. Every imaginable implement and appliance has been thoughtfully provided to continue to make your stay an easy and enjoyable one, whether you're a gourmet who plans to fix your own lobster feasts or a microwave master who prefers to heat-and-go. Either way, seafood houses are just minutes away and waiting for your visit with fresh-from-the-bay delicacies. The bedrooms and bath upstairs are cozy and inviting and great for the kids or an afternoon nap escape. The attached garage will nicely hold all of your seasonal recreation toys and newly-bought treasures.
Back to that view. The deck that runs the length of the house, complete with adirondacks and umbrellas, will surely be your calling. Whether you grab a good book, pair of binoculars, grill, or just sit, you will make many joyful memories here and the scene will forever be with you and a reminder to return many times again.

Great House right on the water
My wife and I rented this cottage along with another couple for three days. This is a wonderful house and I would recommend it to anyone. The place was very clean and comfortable with great views from the deck.
My wife and i are from California and have gone to New England five different times. We hope that we will be able to stay here on our next trip.

Orr's Island Cottage
My husband, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Orr's Island. The house is the best equipped rental I ever stayed in with every possible amenity available and was lacking in nothing. The bright and airy decor fit in so well with the island. The views are sensational any time of day, but particularly at sunset when we could lounge on the deck and watch the birds anc changing light.
My daughter created a special nook in the boat on the dock where she spend time reading her book. We enjoyed exploring the island and discovering great places to eat, namely, the Giant Stairs and Prince's. The Casco Ferry afternoon cruise is great and puts the island in perspective.
We enjoyed the proximity to Portland and Brunswick also. The art museum at Bowdoin College is work a visit. We even attended a program for the zany artist William Wegman and met his Weimeraner dogs!
The house and island is a special place and we hope to return.

Just perfect
I planned a reunion with 3 other women - one from Boston, one from Utah and one from Maine. The Orrs Island Cottage was just perfect. We spent hours in the adirondack chairs, just watching all the activity in the water. The kitchen was well equipped with new frig and dishwasher and everything we needed for our meals. The beds were very comfy. There is a great selection of movies, but we never even turned on the TV. We loved exploring the area, eating seafood at every meal. Hopefully we will be back again next year. I have rented many houses in the past and this was as beautiful as it was described. It is a great spot!

Love this place so much we'd like to buy it!
From the moment we arrived, our expectations were exceeded in every way. The owner has truly done a lovely job of tastefully decorating. We loved the views from the sliding glass doors and the rear deck. We sat outside evenings with a glass of wine and watched the sun sets - spectacular! The kitchen is nicely equipped, modern, and a joy to cook in. Flat screen HD TVs were nice, and, remarkably, the owner provides a DVD player and a nice collection of DVDs too! The beds were comfortable and provided linens and towels were abundant. My daughter loved "her" room upstairs. Yes, there are plenty of things to do nearby, but we loved this cottage so much that our "last day" was devoted to just hanging out at the cottage and relaxing. And - here's another nice and unexpected surprise - the property comes with a clothes washer and dryer - which we took advantage of to do a few loads.
Do you like to run, walk, or hike? Take Bayview Rd to the left from the cottage and go all the way to the end. The road ends at Bowdoin College nature observatory. Round-trip run is about a 5K, or just hike the beautiful trails.
Cook's Lobster on Bailey's Island gets all the press - yes, it's the place for tourists and vacationers that want to pay a bit more and have a lovely dinner view. But, here's a secret from the locals that live on Orrs Island year-round --- the best food at a good price can be found at the Great Stairs Seafood Grille on Bailey's Island. Leave the cottage and turn right onto Harpswell - go 2-3 miles or so - it is on your right. If you see the Bailey Island US Post Office (a red building on your right), back up 50 feet - you just passed it! Granted, the place doesn't look like much from the outside, and there isn't an expensive water view, but the food is to die for, service is friendly, and prices are very fair. It is BYOB, so stop at the grocery next to the post office to get a bottle of wine if you like - no corking fee.
Well, we hated to leave, but we left gifts. If you see two souvenir coasters from the Shipyard Brewery, we bought these for the cottage as a thank you gift for the owner. I hate to give too strong a testimonial for this lovely place- it might make it harder to get future availability for our return visits!
Enjoy your stay! We are certain you will!

Orr's Island Get-away
This house is just perfect. It is fully equiped, the owners did not overlook one single thing. Three bedrooms with beds enough for 8 people. Two full bathrooms, one on each floor.
We had plenty of room for all of us. Great deck to take in the beautiful sunsets over the bay. Very private and secluded. Loved the area. . .
We explored all the surrounding islands and bought lobsters, scallops & mussels from the locals, which was the best I have ever had.
We all had a wonderful time and would definately suggest renting this beautiful home!!

BEAUTIFUL MAINE WATERFRONT-RELAXATION AT ITS BEST!
We have vacationed at this wonderful cottage three years in a row and have just been delighted. This property is clean and well maintained. The owner provides everything one would need and lots of info about the area. First floor master is delightful with sliders onto the deck that runs the length of the house. Coffee on the deck-what a way to start your day--enjoy reading a good book--or just relaxing watching the lobster boats entering and leaving Harpswell Sound. Lots to do in the area for daytrips. Great location for kayaking or fishing.
Fantastic sunsets and great dining in the area or just barbecue on the deck! It is harder to leave this wonderful place each year and has become a permanent part of our vacation plans. We have recommended this cottage to many of our friends and acquaintances.
Try it-- we don't think you will be disappointed!
