We hired the villa the first week of september, this year 2019. Arriving at the villa, we were first of all informed about the alarm system. “We have had some incidents involving thieves coming in taking items lying around, like cell phones, etc. That´s why we have installed the alarm ”. We were also informed that if everyone goes down to the pool area, we should make sure that all windows and doors are locked. The second night the alarm went off, just after midnight. The whole family, except the small children, was up. Younger male family members walked around the house looking for traces of burglary but found none. We contacted the management who, after examining the alarm, concluded: "The alarm sensor near the kitchen door has been triggered and no thief would choose that door, but would rather have taken the back door. It must have been a cat". The third night the alarm went off again. Same procedure; all awake, walking around the house in search of thieves, or traces of thieves. Now two alarm technicians were sent out. After examination they said that both the first and the second night it was the sensor on the backside that had been triggered. Not the one at the kitchen door. Since good night's sleep and a sense of security would be a minimum requirement for a holiday accommodation, we decided to leave the house, since none of this had been met. Despite the inconvenience we were willing to pay for the three nights we stayed, even a fourth. However, all our suggestions were turned down. ”There is nothing wrong with the house, it is a psychological problem ”, we were told by the management. Not a cent was refunded. So, if good night's sleep is not a priority and if you appreciate the thrill of night time walks around the house, armed with wine bottles and frying pans, looking for thieves, then we can highly recommend Villa Gosparini.
