Location and off road parking.

It's not cleaned sufficiently between stays, felt like it could do with more attention. No robes and slippers as advertised. The garden furniture has been left out in all weather and cushions were too filthy to sit on. You have to have the blinds down in bathroom and bedroom as guests in the main house were looking in at us. Felt like being in a gold fish bowl. Dining chair cushions were stained. Damp in the corner of the bedroom. No real storage or work space to speak of in the bedroom. The wardrobe is a wooden pole over an exit door. The pictures make this place look magical but I think that the owners have let it lose its sparkle.

Location and parking.

Did not provide tea bags or coffee, but did provide milk. Automatic lighting in bathroom would come on randomly at night along with underfloor heating making rooms too warm. Apart from some liquid soap for hand basin no amenities in the shower.

The damp smell throughout and the lack of cleanliness.No teatowels!oven and oven glove dirty.Kitchen sink not clean,lots of cobwebs and dust,bed linen didnt smell fresh,crunchy towels,top of toilet not clean.,damp on blind.It really could be a great place if more attention was paid to detail,such a pity.We are going to be frequent visitors to Ludlow but sadly not sure we’d book this again :(

An unusual setting gave a lovely feel to the property , in a good location

Location was ideal for walking to Ludlow and for driving to local attractions, towns villages etc.

Cleanliness was poor. Had difficulty opening and closing front and patio doors, I put some oil on them, told Laura needed attention. Outside light not working. Fridge hadn’t been cleaned, food from previous tenants left behind, milk out of date, water bottle half full. Cleaner came at 17.30 cleaned fridge, and gave me a bar of chocolate as an apology. Bathroom had no shower gel or shampoo, cleaner brought shower gel. Kitchen , why no cleaning cloths? Nothing to wipe down, no cling film or foil to wrap food in. Oven trays greasy and dirty. Outside chairs food debris around seats. Bedroom fine, couple more hangers would have been nice. In the morning, shower was fine except water didn’t drain away…on looking at the plug and removing it I’m not surprised……full of hair, dirt even an old plaster, disgusting. I cleaned it out before my wife used the shower, not much cleaning utensils available. Hand basin plug, same situation, very poor. Would be nice to have extra hanging for towels etc. cleaning around bathroom poor, skirtings, by and behind toilet. I took photos of all of these problems and sent them to Laura, who was really shocked and apologized. Says something went wrong with the cleaning this time, sorry, these issues had been there for a long time. Guest info card needs updating, Wi-Fi log in wrong, clearly states shampoo and cleanser are available and topped up before each visit, not true. Outside the garden could be fantastic but it’s a jungle, lots of pots with dead plants, not inviting. On the website it says owners are there, there are chickens and dogs around, all very friendly, again, not true. We gather they’re in Dubai. Fine, but update information please. It could be so, so much better, for us it wasn’t a great experience. Comfortable and quiet, yes, but the cleaning and lack of attention to details let The Folly down really badly. Such a shame. I’m in no way a professional moaner, I speak as I find, and the above issues speak for themselves.

The size of the property was ideal and we really liked the outdoor space. The bed was uber comfortable and we slept really well.

The sofa. It was too small and really uncomfortable. The seating padding is higher on the outside which makes you roll into the middle. A slightly bigger one with better seat padding and posture would make the accommodation perfect.

Peaceful despite having a railway line at the end of the garden. (The trains weren't frequent). Loved listening to the church bells on Sunday morning sitting one of the swinging basket chairs on the decking. Compact but with everything you needed. We had a problem with internet initially but the owners got back to us quickly and the problem was soon resolved.
