The hotel did not have my two rooms reservations! Thank God, they have two rooms available, although rooms aren't next to each other (per request) but close enough. Shocking finding was hairs on the pillows! Obviously pillow cases weren't changed! Noises from other guests and banging noise from corridor doors (opening and closing) disturbed the rest and sleep!

The staff were lovely and couldn't be any more helpful. The room and bathroom were absolutely spotless and it smelled clean too. It was very warm and had double , double glazing. Yeah, you read that correctly! So we couldn't hear the traffic at all outside. We had dinner and although the menu was pretty basic the food didn't disappoint. The chicken burger was really good and the chips were tasty, not oily or greasy.

The first room the curtains were missing a few clips and were not hung on well so I couldn't shut them. Staff moved us with absolutely no fuss whatsoever. The shower temperature control was broken so it was only cold water. Again, the staff were amazing and gave us a key to the empty room so we could shower in there. The hotel is also a pub so they have lots of customers who aren't residents, always a good sign if somewhere is busy, however We did wait a very long time for dinner. But it was lovely when it arrived. We unfortunately had a bit of a noisy neighbour (think choir practice,) but again the staff were lovely and so well humoured. They kindly gave us a £25 voucher for the hotel. Despite these little hiccups we would definitely go back again. Slightly more expensive than I would have paid for this type of establishment.

The staff are exceptionally nice and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable room, lovely bar staff and then a wonderful breakfast on the Sunday morning.

I liked everything about our stay. I have nothing I didn't like.
