A lot of room, great for groups of people

Golf carts were there upon arrival, house was very clean and spacious. Relaxing and quiet outdoor space, pool was great as well. We will be coming back and staying again next year!

First we were told that we were not allowed in our house until 4 pm or we would lose our security deposit. However, upon arrival there were multiple people in the surrounding rentals that arrived much earlier. We were brought papers to sign for the rental and even they said they were surprised they said 4 pm. On top of that, the cleaning people left all of their supplies laying in the middle of the house as well as a large trash bag. It didn't even look like they cleaned the house as there were dirty washcloths still in the shower. The house over was in pretty bad shape. One of the toilets was not even connected to the floor and there was mold in the house. Very disappointed in the house and management for the amount of money we paid.

The floors were quite dirty however, and the amount of toilet paper and paper towels was extremely too short of what 12 people would need for a weekend. We ended up having to go to a store to buy extra of these items as well as certain cleaning supplies that we were under the impression would be in the house. There was no broom anywhere for us to clean up with, no sponges, and no hand soap.

They had pots and pans for cooking and when we arrived everything was clean. Except for the beds being bunk beds in a few of the rooms (would like to see a double instead of bunk beds) we would recommend this place to anyone.

Reviewer Comments: I've stayed at Island Club two times previous, and this was by far the nicest unit I have been to. It was a perfect fit for 12 people and had a great feel. The lot is large and allowed for several types of yard games to be setup at once. It is tucked away which can be a negative or positive depending how you look at it. We were not "right in the middle" of everything going on, but had no problems meeting new people and didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone.Island Club was attentive to any needs we had and the manager stopped by the first day to introduce herself and give us a few pieces of advice for the island.The group found themselves out to the bar every night and Mr. Ed's was the group favorite. During a hot day the Island Club pool was awesome and the party was at the pool bar called Mist.All the cab drivers were awesome and quick to come get you and take you wherever you want.Definitely one of the best weekends of my life.

Although the home was fairly clean, it was in a state of utter disrepair. The rugs were stained. The kitchen table was so wobbly we couldn't eat on it for fear it would fall apart. Two of the kitchen chair seats were broken. The top of the washing machine where the knobs were was falling off. I am surprised that it even worked. Some of the lamps hardly worked and the overhead lights flickered and dimmed often making me feel a little uneasy about the electrical wiring. The home sleeps 12 but the living room can only accommodate about 6 to watch TV. My parents tried to use the jet tub but when they turned the jets on the water turned black from some type of sediment in the jets. There were many posted rules around the home that I t seemed as if management was very concerned about how we were treating the home but not concerned with their end of the upkeep. The shades on the bedroom windows are see through so you really can't get changed in there. In fact, one morning there appeared a groundsman right outside our window blowing leaves while I was getting dressed. We rented two golf carts from Island Club as well. One was very sluggish so we called for a replacement. Someone came and picked it up and returned shortly after with the same exact cart. We didn't realize it at first because they never came to the door to let us know they had returned. Also, the screen door didn't close all the way. The pool was okay and seemed clean. We are pretty flexible people and tend to view things casually. This didn't ruin our vacation but overall we were very unhappy with this rental. I wouldn't recommend it.

The only downfall was the television was broken and when we called to have it looked at, no one came. We grabbed a worker outside of the party and asked them to see if they can fix it. They looked at it and said they would be right back but then never came back. So we were out of a television all weekend which was a bummer for the sports boys.

The cottage next to us was under renovation and the dust and noise was a little annoying. We also found some utensils and pans were not in the kitchen, but that was not a major issue since we had brought some of our own. We stayed from Sun evening until Fri AM so we can't comment on what it is like during the busier weekend timeframe. The Island Club is a nice neighborhood of rental home (cabin like). The house was a bit worn down (broken picture frame, chandelier hanging by a coat hanger, etc) but it had everything we needed and met our expectations. Keep in mind some of these homes have renters moving in/out twice a week so they show some signs of abuse. We chose this unit mainly for the ability to sleep 12 people which it can easily do if needed. Unit 113 is located off a cul-de-sac and was nicely shaded throughout the day. There is a picnic table out front and 4 chairs and a BBQ grill out back. A back deck table would have been nice. It is situated a bit close to the road but it wasn't an issue and we enjoyed the privacy more than we were bothered by traffic (there isn't too much except on peak check in/out days since it is enroute to the Miller Ferry line. The Island Club pool was rather crowded considering it was mid week (but is was the week after the 4th of July). An adult pool on the property would be great. We did not go to the other pools on the island which we were told we had access to, so there could have been other options. We rented a golf cart which was convenient but not necessary for weekday visits. I imagine parking a car downtown on a weekend would be tough though. Most of the bar/restaurants were 1/4 full during the weekday and most of them had some form of live music during the afternoon/evening. The rental process and management were great the few times we had to speak to them (not about any issues). Overall, we were happy with Island Club and our time at Put In Bay and would recommend #113.

As instructed we brought our linens and towels. The only thing furnished in bathroom was toilet paper. No soap, shampoo, the normal staples you would expect. Also no toilet paper holder, no towel racks in either bathroom. No place to hang towels of any kind. No paper towels in kitchen. Need to be prepared to bring all these things to the island or purchase there. Very simple fixes would have made our stay much more comfortable.

There was an Island Club staff (unsure of name) who asked several guests of #113 how they were able to stay in that location, asked us "who do you know to get this house?" and had a hard time believing that we have been staying in #113 for a few years now. The staff wasnt rude, but continued to question the guests and asked sevearl times. Also, upon arrival this year, there were crumbs on the counter top, the fridge was missing the handle (island club staff notified), there was what appeared to be black mold in the dishwasher so we did not want to wash our dishes in there, there was no vacuum in the house to clean any messes throughout the weekend. and the bathrooms had the same issues that they have had in the past years. In the main bathroom, the toilet wobbles and is loose. When you sit on it, it will rock. The flooring in the bathroom is also popped and raised in a few areas throughout. As said before, there are not too many complaints, however, if we are spending the money we are spending to stay in these cabins for the weekend, I would expect the cabins to have general upkeep and be cleaned and ready for the next group to come in. The problems in the bathroom with the toilets and flooring have been an issue (mentioned to Island Club staff in previous years) the last couple times we have stayed in #113. We love the cabin location and truly enjoy our stay but would like to see the house to be cleaner and small issues fixed to feel as if we are receiving a quality stay for what we are paying. Other than that, we had a blast and love Island Club hospitality. Thanks for another fun weekend!

Reviewer Comments: I planned a bachelorette party for my girlfriend here based on the fact I had stayed here in the past for another bachelorette party. 113 could use a lot of work and cleaning. Bugs and broken items throughout the house. The 4th bedroom is supposed to have 2 full/full queen beds in there, and there is only one- not even enough room for another. With all this being said, I addresses my concerns with the property company and they handled things very well. I recommend staying at the Island Club, just not in this unit.

To top it off, the TV stopped working. I called for assistance and no one would come til the next day.

You can tell this was a party house though. The wall décor fell if you shut the door to hard and a couple of the chairs were broken when we arrived. Our TV didn't work right and we called maintenance to come and fix it but they never showed. Overall we had a blast. I would recommend this to anyone having a large party that basically just need a roof and some beds to crash after drinking all night.
