Horrible breakfast (cheese was ruined), bad eggs, staff was unfriendly (except bartender- he was awesome and the waitress at the home stead). I also discovered the price booking directly would have been much cheaper than booking.com so I was disappointed.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in a warm room (Kamoos) of Icehotel. The room was very spacious, cozy, nicely designed, decorated and lighted with typical Scandinavian styles which we liked. It had comfy beds, lots of storage spaces, roomy and nice bathroom with good quality amenities. Lovely view from the corner windows of our room where we could see trees covered with snow (early April) All hotel guests were free to roam around the cold rooms and all facilities such as the bar, exhibition, etc. which was an experience in itself. We also loved the breakfast which was at the hotel restaurant across the street. The buffet menu was superb, all you can eat cold and hot food including a lot of healthy options. There were many adventure activities offered at the Adventure Center. The 1,5 hour dogsledding tour we took was fun and of good value. We also enjoyed walking to the nearby frozen river and around the hotel complex. As temperature could get quite cold, as said it its website, we could borrow overall warm clothing and boots from the reception which was also provided for activities at the hotel. We took a train from Stockholm to Kiruna and then a bus to the hotel. Going back we asked the hotel staff to book a taxi for us.

All hotel staff was friendly and provided great services except a few with no smile and lack of courtesy, perhaps because they were new and had not had enough training yet. One hiccup was more to do with booking.com rather than Icehotel. Booking.com did give us the choices of payment due date close to our stay or immediate payment 3-4 months prior. They did send us email reminder which we failed to notice. A few days before our stay we found out that booking.com had cancelled our booking. We then had to rebook again at a much higher price. I thought and wished booking.com could just have debit the credit card we provided rather than cancelling the booking. We were lucky rooms were still available.

Lack of off season activities eg bikes not avail till June, no walking groups, no skidoos, no onsite restaurant. Your nearest restaurant 1 km walk at night in sub zero temperature, no shuttle service. No shuttle into Kiruna (taxi 520 sek). Staff gave us an out of date bus timetable showing weekend service - there were no buses running. Sleeping bags too big and poorly fitted. Staff did their best but clearly not properly trained . All of these things are easily fixable and could increase your off season patronage.

The warm rooms were comfortable, the ice sculpturing and ice menu dinner were excellent. The staff in the restaurant were lovely and Nartin who let the ice sculpturing class was great at guiding us as we sculptured. Great conversations too with Nartin and the restaurant staff.

The receptionist was very unhelpful when it came to advising us/helping get my elderly Mum in a wheelchair around the property. Didn’t tell us about the availability of a wheelchair, would not help transport my Mum to the restaurant in a hotel van. Very disappointed in this level of unhelpful service.

Entrance to the icehotels is included when staying in Icehotel. This is exelent! Everything was beautiful. Breakfast had a great variety to choose from. There really is nothing I can complain about.

If you would like to experience ice hotel & aurora, this is the place that you have to go. Besides, the restaurant serving breakfast & dinner was very good.

Spectacular building, beautiful surroundings. No further comment needed -- just look at pictures on the internet and see how marvelous the Icehotel is.

Cool rooms (the icy ones) are indeed cool, and check-in starts at 6 p.m. Sleeping tight might be an issue. Warm rooms have a nice, nordic touch and offer everything you need. No luxury though, just standard equipment and standard comfort. Activities offered can be spectacular experiences but feel a bit overpriced.

Kitchenette poorly equipped

It was a pleasure staying at ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi. The warm room was comfortable. We have the facility to park our car in parking area without additional cost. The hotel staff was really kind. They have helped us to find and explore the things nearby. We received a special permission to have a Cake cutting for my Son's Birthday in ICEBAR. The Breakfast was awesome with many options to choose which was included in the room price. They have also helped us to inform by sending sms where there was a possibility to see the Northern Lights. It was wonderful experience to see Aurora beams on the clear sky. Staff is kind and helpful. The rooms are nicely done and very comfortable to stay in with request of one extra bed in our room. The sleep quality was excellent. Everything about the hotel was worth the price tag. I recommend it without a doubt and feel a wonderful stay.

Buffet breakfast was just fantastic; warm chalets were very comfortable; lounge area is a nice cosy place to relax; the Homestead was a good dinner option for kids; there are lots of activities for kids (husky and reindeer sled rides are available either through the Icehotel or through local operators), and ours just enjoyed playing in the snow! The ice rooms were fun to look at, but we couldn’t imagine that they would be comfortable to sleep in and were grateful for our chalet! The hotel is 20 min drive from Kiruna (there’s a local bus) - it is in a small village with a supermarket and good Sami museum where you can feed and pat reindeer, and it has a great cafe.

Reception staff were lovely but the reception desk was very understaffed and a bit chaotic- after our flight was delayed our airport pickup didn’t arrive despite making arrangements by email and phone, and we couldn’t reach the hotel by phone at all because no one answered the phone. We had asked them to keep us breakfast and the kitchen did make up small bags, but it took an hour to track them down because none of the reception staff knew. Our request for milk in the room also went ignored.

We were disappointed that there was still trash in the room and the toilet bowl in the bathroom was not cleaned. Also, the time of the local bus, which we were told at the reception, was wrong. We had to endure 30 minutes outside in the cold, which was a disappointment as we did not get to see the city, which we were looking forward to. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends.
