The location was perfect. Easily to find and offering brilliant views across Asos. It was less than five minutes walk to the restaurants, shops, bakery and parking. Our room was a good size, with windows on three sides, a great balcony and a comfy bed. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, giving is good tops on places to visit and generally making us feel very well looked after.

The bathroom was a little bit primitive and on the two windy nights we had, all the windows whistled because they didn’t seal well enough.

The room was spacious and have a lovely small balcony overlooking the harbour.

Found a colony of tiny ants in the room. Once I cleaned the congregation, it was less of a problem. The bathroom was poorly designed- much too small and cramped.

The owner was present on arrival and helped us carry our luggage. The apartment had a perfect location, within walking distance of the Assos bay and restaurants. The bed was good.

After a long trip, we were looking forward to relax and refresh ourselves. Nevertheless, our bathroom experience was dissapointing: while every picture online had a rain shower head, ours was not and the only small shower head was partially broken. The shower head kept turning to the side which made showering quite uncomfortable. The water wasn't warm for a long period, my boyfriend had to shower with cold water after me. Our view of Assos was also mostly blocked by a building in front of us, while we paid for a good view (we had room nr. 1, the other rooms had a better view). At night, the emergency light made the room not so dark, which made it a bit more difficult to fall asleep.

Very small bed (although the size of the room allows for a bigger more comfortable bed), bad smell in the very small bathroom, extremely bad water (bring botteled water with you for brush teeth etc.), shared balcony, which is divided by wooden slats (no privacy), mosquitoes, parking problem.

Views are absolutely stunning over Assos, we loved sitting out on the balcony with a glass of wine. was perfect! Was a great location and we had a comfortable stay.

Having a view of Assos bay from the balcony was pretty perfect. Nicely decorated. Really friendly staff - room was ready early and they helped clear up a smashed glass and replace it straight away.

The view from the balcony over the harbour qas beautiful and we were a very quick stroll into thw town to swim and try out the local tavernas. The host and cleaning lady were really helpful and friendly.

There was a smell of drains in the room, the host did come to sort it out and the smell was significantly diminished.

The lovely views and proximity of the bay for swimming and restaurants.

The view is absolutely spectacular. The room was comfortable and had everything you need. Didn't use the pool as the bay of Assos is the perfect place to lounge by the sea and do some snorkeling. What a special place with special people. Highly recommend Vassilis Retreat and would be delighted to stay there again.

Parking is a bit of an issue (as is expected in a small village with lots of accommodation). But it was quite easy to drop your cases off quickly and drive round to the main car park where there is ample spaces. Just a heads up :)

Absolutely everything was stunning and Socrates was such a gentleman, and so very helpful! We felt so at home and only wish we could have stayed longer! I’ll be back soon for sure!

Internet was pretty bad during our stay.

We had a very beautiful room with views towards Asos gulf and town. The room was very clean and well equipped.

From the very beginning everything was just perfect. The owner trustfully reserved the last room for us simply by phone. We even came abit later than expected and the gentleman was still patiently waiting for us. He was incredibly friendly and positive :) explained and showed us everything! Villa itself is extremely authentically beautiful and located on a small peninsula where it is even more quiet and remote. It’s indeed a retreat in its best sense! We slept like babies ;) 3min walk down there’s a lovely private beach and about 10min there’s a super delicious Greek restaurant with one of the best beaches we’ve visited! Recommended :)

Amazing view. Room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Really good pressure in the shower too. Socrates was super helpful - we called as we couldn't find the hotel or where to park and he gave clear instructions. Plus he was super helpful in advance organising a child's bed in the room. Kids loved the pool - it was small but big enough for a splash. Would absolutely recommend.

A lorry outside at daft o'clock in the morning for what seemed like forever, doing goodness knows what!

Socrates was great. He told us to ignore all the rules and just do what the locals do. "Kefalonians love making rules that other people should follow, but which they do not". He also gave us some great taverna recommendations (Makis), avoid all the tavernas in Assos. The pool is cold and deep and very good as a respite from the hot beach (Myrtos). The 2 to 5 rule can be safely ignored 😀. We really liked the place.

The kids' room, 8, had a whiff of sewage which is common in places with limited water, but a bit of a pong nonetheless. In general it was not easy to regulate the room temperature at night during a very hot spell. Air-conditioning noisy or open windows for a nice blast of humid air.

We booked Vassilis Retreat as a last minute stay (we had been based for one week in Lixouri) as we wanted to sightsee around Asos. This boutique hotel is perfectly located, well organised and our room was truly amazing. The views of Asos, coupled with the size and layout of our room was 10/10/10/. It was a truly magical stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.
