This was our second time to stay at the Alaska Reprieve. We stayed a few years ago. It was just as great and perfect. I highly recommend this place. If we go back to Placencia, we will stay here. Mae and her husband are the best hosts.

We loved Alaskan Reprieve so much last year that it was easy to decide where to stay this year!!! The location is fantastic (right off the Side Walk), steps from the Caribbean Sea and very near our happy place (The Placencia Beach Club). This property is impeccably maintained, well appointed and comfortable. We got to meet some of the staff. They are hardworking and appreciative of the guests. Mae is a word-class host that responds rapidly and thoughtfully to requests. Treat yourself to a great experience when visiting Placencia (we did!!!).

We had an awesome and restful time. The Studio was well apportioned and very comfortable for the two of us. The owners, Mae and Phil are super friendly and take great care of the property and made sure we had everything we needed. Almost don’t want to recommend their place for fear that it won’t be available to us next time around. Would definitely request renting again.😀

I stayed in lower apartment with friends who rented the upper apartment. The home was very well constructed and we weathered rain and wind storms very well. Kitchen facilited were well kitted but my friends upstairs did most of the cooking. But everything was comfortable and cozy. Loved sitting on front porch greeting people as they passed and watching birdlife.

We had a great week at the Alaska Reprieve. Everything was as shown, no surprises , very clean , close to beach club which is awesome and just a bit further to the bars and restaurants, which is actually maybe a good thing. Very quick responses from owner. I sure wish Placencia was easier to get to from Western Canada. Maybe some day.

This is one of the best properties I have stayed in. Communication with Mae was excellent. The information she sent us was absolutely fantastic. I can't say enough about the ease of communicating and the amenities of the property. So close to the beach and you can walk to everything you need. A very great experience.

The property is modern, clean and wonderfully appointed. It has everything you need for any type of getaway. Right on the famous sidewalk it is steps from the beach and the Placencia Beach Club (membership included with your rental). The Beach Club facilities and staff were wonderful and became an almost daily stop for us. Morning coffee on the veranda and the beach access provided spectacular sunrise views. The owners Mae and Phil were on the property (upper studio) during our stay and were wonderful hosts. Placencia is our “happy place” and we would definitely return and stay at Alaska Reprieve!

Phil and Mae have a gem of a property. Location was perfect on the northend famous sidewalk. It was a short walk to the beautiful village of Placencia. Our unit had everything we needed to feel at home. Clean would be an understatement. The house more than met our needs however Phil and Mae exceeded our expectations. We have been a vrbo customer for years and can honestly say that Mae and Phil were the most amazing hosts we have ever met. Can not say enough good things about our two weeks in Placencia and the setting Mae and Phil have created for their guests. We will be back. Thank you for making our memories so brilliant and unforgettable.

From the first contact to the last goodbye, the hosts were absolutely THE best hosts we have ever had and we’ve stayed at a lot of great VRBOs! The studio is very comfortable, well thought out, exceptionally cute (and I’m picky as hell) and has everything you need. We stayed a month and could have stayed longer! Thank you!

Well stocked and nicely appointed. Right on The Sidewalk. We walked out trails off daily but it was worth is. The is construction going on but it's tolerable. Feet from the ocean and close to the Beach Club if you prefer a pool. I would definitely book this place again!

Local tour operators know its location so no issues being picked up for side trips. Simply a great place to stay and we’ll book it again for our next trip to Placencia.

A wonderful stay and great communication
This is a lovely apartment right off the sidewalk, close to the beach, bank, and grocery store. Clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. The managers sent all the info we needed to get around, and when I had questions they responded in minutes. There was also a storm that affected the power that they had resolved within a couple hours while we were having drinks at the Tipsy Tuna. We loved our stay.

Enjoyed my stay at Alaska reprieve and looking forward to staying there again. The ocean was just a few footsteps away. The porch was lovely as well as the landscaping beautiful. This property was extremely clean and I had access to a washer and dryer. These hosts thought of everything! Bed was extremely comfortable .The kitchen in the sitting area had absolutely everything I needed.Top value is the grocery store you want to go to. Everything is walkable, though I would recommend renting a golf cart while there.

Best Place Ever!
This was our first trip with just the two of us, our previous 3 trips to Placencia had been with Family or other couples. So we wanted something really nice, clean, near the beach and the Village. Alaska Reprieve was EVERYTHING we had hoped for! It was amazingly "modern " yet so cozy! Wonderfully appointed with everything we needed and the location was IDEAL! Strategically located at the north end of the Placencia boardwalk, nestled amongst beautiful flowering shrubs and trees with views of the ocean. Sitting on the porch in our big comfy chairs for morning coffee, watching the many birds flutter around was an amazing way to start each day! And we didn't have to rent a car or golf carts ....we could walk or use the bikes (included) to quickly get to the markets or restaurants....pier, etc. You are literally minutes from anything you need.
But the best feature of Alaska Reprieve were the hosts Phil and Mae. Such amazing, interesting and kind people. We SO enjoyed our time getting to know them! We never felt like clients...but rather Friends. Although we had been to Placencia 3 times prior... they showed us so many things we had not experienced before and it was just fun to visit with them!

If you are tired of the salt water, the place comes with a weekly pass to the Placencia Beach Club which has good food, drinks and a nice.pool. a great day to spend at the pool!

Wonderful Hosts and Lodging at Alaska Reprieve
Our hosts graciously picked us up and brought us to the beautiful and very new Alaska Reprieve rental. The apartment had 5 ceiling fans and a very quiet and cold AC unit. The place was fully furnished with very new appliances and everything else we cold have asked for and the beach is just a few steps away. We will definitely stay here again.

Very relaxing home away from home
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Alaska Reprieve! The location is great! Right on the sidewalk and just steps down the sand to the beach. The unit was beautiful, the pictures don’t due it justice. The windows are tinted for privacy and the AC is nice and cold. The kayaks and bikes were great to use. There is a beach club just up the beach that you can go to and hang out in the pool and get some drinks and food. We stayed here for 6 nights and it was so quiet compared to other places we have stayed. The hosts were amazing and very welcoming. They checked in with us anytime we saw them in passing and always asked if we needed anything. They were so great and very accommodating, we can’t wait to stay here again on our next visit!

Paradise in Placencia
My wife and I stayed at Alaska Reprieve the first week of Feb. We are fairly new to VRBO's and learned that descriptions and pictures can be misleading...but not here. Everything was as described or better. Their place was clean, modern, in a great location and had everything we needed.
We were closely located to the beach (close enough to go back to get drinks) and just a short walk to all that Placencia village has to offer. We were also a short bike ride to Splash dive shop.
The bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, floaties and appliances were of excellent quality
Our hosts were there at the time of our holiday and anything we needed they were quick to accomodate. They even made sure our ice bucket was full for our blended drinks!
Both our hosts and the property manager (Joshlin) were always quick to reply to our questions.
We arrived late on the first day and Joshlin was there to greet us and do a walk through of the property. She also sent us a list of tours and companies that she recommended-we worth the read!
Our only regret was that we booked a different place for the second week and it was disappointing after our experience at Alaska Reprieve!
We would highly recommend staying here...we will on our next visit.

Beautiful retreat
My husband and I enjoyed a much-needed getaway over the Christmas holiday in Placencia. The Alaskan Reprieve was as described: safe, clean, and just a short walk to the beach. Being on the north end of the Placencia sidewalk resulted in a very quiet location, but close enough to walk to all the restaurants and coffee shop. No car is needed here. We used the bikes often. Having a working washer and dryer was great for our longer stay. The Belizeans are a lovely people, very friendly, helpful, and not intrusive. Joshlin, the property manager, was available, dependable, and helpful. Overall, we had a very safe, beautiful, refreshing reprieve. I had only one request: some small foldable beach chairs would be a nice added amenity. Thank you! Pat
