Nice walks on the door step and in the surrounding area, weather permitting.
Short walk into town for good pubs, cafes and restaurants.
The host provided good information about local attractions, including nice walks/attractions.
Dog friend accommodation.
Comfortable bed.
Spacious, quirky comfortable accommodation.
Wi Fi worked well
Cleanliness could be better, especially when the owner charges extra for pets, which was higher than what was stated on Bookijng.com. However, dust on shelves, cooker extractor fan etc. are not related to pets staying there. I was told this would be taken care of after we left, but this is "shutting the stable door after he horse has bolted". Also, cleanliness of the toilet was suspect as saw hairs under the front of the toilet seat and behind it which were not mine, so cleaned it myself rather than take any chances. All this is worrying when cleanliness post Covid needs to be better than ever. The owner told me that she cleans the property herself, so the buck stops with her. I hoovered all the property before checking out, as I always do when I leave accommodation.
The roads around the property are in very bad condition, as apparently are unadopted, so the council don't repair them. I got a puncture, which cost me £24 for the repair. Luckily there is a good friendly garage around the corner called "The Garage" . My advice is only go Windsor View from the bottom of Windsor Road, You will then be less likely to scrape the bottom of your car, although still heard this happen once, or damage your tyres/wheels. Also check all your tyres before setting off.
Parking in front of the property is first come first served, and I had to park on Windsor Road and carry my belongings to the property, not nice when it is raining.
The key lock box worked fine when we arrived, but wouldn't lock when leaving, so had to put the keys through the letter box. This was despite a video call with the owner on WhatsApp, getting soaked in the process. I followed the instructions given, and I am not stupid, but it definitely was not locking when pushed closed. By agreement I put the keys through the letter box, as the owner stated her neighbour had a set of keys she could use.
Noise from neighbours as early as 7am in the morning.

The owner was welcoming and very responsive to questions. Short walk to the town center and a variety of pubs and shops. Two levels offer plenty of space to unpack and unwind.

Good location, easy to walk into town.
We had booked a three night stay at the property, on the second night of our stay the carbon monoxide alarm sounded at 11pm and we made the decision pack up everything and leave the house as per standard advice relating to carbon monoxide alarms due to the danger involved. We had to arrange transportation from family at home, as both myself and partner had been out for celebratory birthday drinks.
Following this, we messaged the owner with the video of the alarm going off, to which we were dismissed and made to feel stupid and that it was not a concern to her. Her response was that the batteries were running low, to which this was not the case as we had tried two sets of batteries in the alarm and it still sounded. This is also a ridiculous excuse as it is well known that an alarm will beep at 30 second intervals when the battery is low - not sound a full alarm with a PPM reading. Due to the alarm sounding and the awful response from the owner of the property, we did not feel safe to return to the property on Saturday night either.
As we left our vehicle at the property, we had to return to collect it the next day, which has caused a large amount of money to be wasted on fuel, with a total of 6 journeys being made to and from the property.
Janet was very rude and uncooperative, entirely dismissing our safety concerns and belittling us- raising concern also for future guests safety.
She has complained about the lack of cleaning in the property, however we vacated as fast as we could in genuine fear of our safety and even then tried to clean to a reasonable standard. The lack of cleaning she has highlighted is a small amount of dog hair on the sofa and specks of dirt on the staircase. We take pride in leaving all the places that we stay as we found them, however due to the circumstances we did not have time to hoover, I think this is understandable.
We had to go through booking.com to request a refund, which only covered one night due to Janet's refusal.

Very cute and traditional cottage with an amazing location!
Was mostly great! Bit worn around the edges it is probably fair to say, but great for people with dogs/walkers

fantastic location with great views and less than 10 minutes walk to the restaurants, cafes and local shops. The bed was really comfortable, shower is very powerful, we went out during the day and came back and relaxed both evenings

A quirky place with lots of character and cosy feel. Fab location, close to bars, restaurants and local shops. A warm welcome note and a
well-equipped kitchen. The complementary biscuits and milk we a nice touch too.
The place could have done with a thorough clean. We found dust on surfaces, cobwebs and beatles in the house. Normally it wouldn't bother me this much, but I had a toddler with me who wanted to explore every nook and cranny. I was uncomfortable letting him play on the floor - sorry.
The shower was too small for 1.5 people, making my son's evening routine a little more challenging. The fixed head wasn't my favourite but the provided shower cap was a nice touch :)

Beautiful location, easy walk into town, gorgeous views out of the windows. Nice and warm.
Bring your ear plugs if you want a lie in! Can unfortunately hear lots of movement from upstairs housing.

The location
Missed some outside space in property for dogs. Absolutely none. Property was dusty and we had to was cutlery. We cleaned for an hour when we arrived. We were advised we could bring 3 dogs, but then I received a disappointing text from Janet to say there was dog hairs on the small sofa. The table was wobbly and my husbands tea fell on the floor. It’s not fit for purpose. One dog is moulting and that’s where the dog hair came from. If the dogs sat on little sofa there would be no room for us. But I received this from Janet.
Hi Jean I’ve found dog hairs and a stain all over the upstairs sofa. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture in my house as per my house manual! Please rethink if you have dogs. We will never book again.

Cosy cottage, well equipped and really convenient for the town. Dog walk right outside the front door.
A neighbour who constantly monitored where we parked and left a very curt note on the windscreen of the car.
Shower was very narrow and the shower curtain stuck to you making it difficult and uncomfortable.

An excellently equipped little underdwelling in a quiet location, yet within walking distance of Hebden Bridge centre. The hosts personal touches really make this property feel like a home from home. There is a path right opposite the front door that eventually takes you right up to Hardcastle Crags, and it can be made into a little loop for a morning dog walk.
A whole house for the same price as a hotel…what’s not to love.
The shower is compact, which is a slight inconvenience. It may be improved with a shower door rather a curtain, but it didn’t spoil our stay.

very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with everything you could want or need. a home from home.

very cosy and warm. the bed was super comfy. there was a little bit of noise from next door but honestly nothing to worry about.
everything was great. it’s about 15- 20 min walk up/down some steep hills which wasn’t a problem for us but might be for some people. taxis are really cheap though to get you in and out of town if it’s raining.

A bigger shower, somewhere to hang wet coats.

Loved the unique experience of living in a Hebden Bridge Underselling and it was only about 10 mins into the town itself with lovely views. It was so nice sitting on the seat outside of a lovely summer's evening. Also the neighbours were very friendly.
The house was well equipped and we had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable but it didn't feel as wide as a full double.
All in all we would definitely recommend Windsor View and we would go back there again if we were in the area.
There was some noise from the house above as expected, but one morning was a bit early at 5.30 otherwise it was ok.
Satnav direction to house wrong, you must use Foster Lane rather than Lee Mill Lane it took us down a very steep unmaintained cobbled road which was quite dangerous and had a sign at the bottom that it was not a road.

Sparkling clean cottage nestled up a hill on a lovely private road, looking out onto hills and stone buildings - as soon as I arrived I knew I’d made a good decision. There was fresh milk in the fridge, biscuits on arrival, the bathroom was stocked up with loo roll and the shower, though a little small, has excellent water pressure. The bed is really comfortable and I slept soundly, it’s a quiet place out of the way of the town, so there’s no traffic noise, but it’s also a short walk into town. Other people have mentioned noise from the neighbours…this really wasn’t an issue whatsoever for me, people live in the connected houses, it’s not a detached house out in the hills. The neighbours are friendly and Janet was so responsive whenever I had a question. I was a solo traveller and this stay was rejuvenating, literally opposite the house is a beautiful path along the river leading to Hardcastle Crags and 2 minutes up the road is the gorgeous Nutclough Woods. I 100% will be returning and would recommend the place to others.
The only thing that could have been better would be stocking the kitchen with essentials that are inconvenient to have to buy and then leave behind if you're only staying a short while, for example, cooking oil and salt.
