Property was beautiful and comforable. Location was close to downtown which was what we were looking for. Breakfast was amazing!!

Our stay was wonderful. The proprietors are friendly and helpful. The rooms are incredibly comfortable. The living space and view are wonderful. Oh, and the breakfast is fabulous. I wish we had been able to stay longer.

It was definitely worth the trip. The property and its surroundings were truly beautiful. Dan and Margaret were very friendly and hospitable and made us feel at home.

The Inn at the River is a perfect B&B to have a relaxed vacation in nature. It offers different options: river walks, kayaks or canoes, and many more. The room was spacious and well equipped - the common area had a billiard table and a kitchen to use. Dan and Margaret are perfect hosts and made us feel like home. Dan provided us with information on sights and things to do in the area.

There is nothing we didn't like, except that we only had three nights at this wonderful B&B.

The Inn is a hidden gem in a tranquil nature setting. I felt pampered and so enjoyed spending the day with Margaret, Dan and Theo.

The house and surrounding property are gorgeous. So serene and quiet. The hosts were very friendly and nice (including Theodore & Norman). The room and shared spaces were comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was incredibly delicious.

Peaceful setting; hosts were super helpful; the home was quite new with all the latest conveniences; beautifully decorated.

It was an amazingly beautiful space, delicious breakfast, amazing caretakers, and such the sweetest pup that's there to greet you and sit with you at breakfast. We absolutely adored our stay and cant wait to stay again.

I had a very pleasant stay at the inn, the owners was very nice and helpful. I enjoyed my week there. Such a beautiful view from the house overlooking the river, the deers in the woods and the different collection of birds on the balcony. I also got a chance to use the kitchen at the inn and prepare breakfast and dinner a few nights for us which was very nice. Margaret and Dan were a delight. Thanks for the lovely experience.

Unbelievable house and setting! The owners were gracious and so helpful. Their dog Theo was a delight! We would stay there again and again!

Too short of stay

There aren't enough superlatives to describe our pleasure from this stay. Margaret and Dan have a little slice of heaven there. We had a voluminous suite with multiple tvs and many streaming options. The views were awesome, the location is quiet but only ten minutes from downtown, and everything was fantastic. Margaret was knowledgable about the area and gave us a suggestion for dinner that was so good, the Red Eye Brewing Company. But the best part of all was breakfast. Margaret made omelettes with chives and peppers and cheese, homemade bread, and sliced strawberries on a bed of a berry yogurt. On top of that, Margaret and Dan are both wonderful breakfast companions. We were going to leave earlier but we had such a good, relaxed time that we stayed for a spell, chatting amiably while the rain fell outside. (And if you get a chance to meet Toby, shake his hand. You can thank me later.) ;)

Our bed sagged a little in the middle. Otherwise, we had such a great stay that this was, overall, a very minor thing. I still slept like a rock.

Our stay was very nice. The seating down my the river was so pleasant and quiet. The grounds were nicely kept and the scenery looking out at the river from the screened in porch was very nice. Even a deer and her fawn was nice to see during our breakfast. A very nice stay one that will be repeated.

The home and location where excellent but the hosts are what made our stay incredible. We will be back to see them and to explore the area more.

Margaret’s attention to detail was wonderful! Her food presentation was fabulous and delicious.I loved the sauna and the gas firetable. We loved everything about our stay here. Don’t pass this up if your needing to stay in Wausau. So much better than a hotel!!!!

We liked everything about it. Beautiful setting...beautiful B&B their dog Theo was a joy too!

So welcoming from the moment you pull up to this gorgeous B & B and step inside-Margaret and Dan are exceptional hosts! And can’t forget about the cutest little schnauzer that we’ve ever met-Theo:). The common areas of their home are so comfortable and clean-many to choose from. The outdoor areas are so relaxing-the views serene. And our room -we stayed in the River Suite-fabulous! & the breakfasts-so yummy! Cannot wait to visit again!
