Norcross Cottage, quiet lakeside cottage in Maine moose country
Das charmante historische Haus befindet sich in unserem Haus angebracht und ist unser Jahr über Gästehaus. Es liegt in einer ruhigen Bucht mit Zugang zu den 5 größeren Seen herum. Es ist 5 Meilen in die Stadt Millinocket und ist leicht zu erreichen. Es ist ein wunderbarer Ort für Wassersportaktivitäten oder einfach nur am Wasser entspannen. Es ist auch ein großartiger Startpunkt für die Region Katahdin einschließlich Baxter State Park. Wir haben ein Paddelboot, zwei Kanus und zwei Kajaks zur Verfügung. Vögel beobachten, Blatt peep, Elche Uhr, Wildwasser-Rafting, Wandern, Kajak, Schwimmen, Fisch, x Loipe, Schneeschuh, ATV, Motorschlitten oder einfach nur entspannen und die Aussicht genießen. Wir sind nah an einem Netz von Wanderwegen. Lassen Sie einfach das Haus und schlug die Trails.

We traveled north to explore Baxter State Park. Norcross Cottage has shoreline property which was perfect for an early morning paddle and relaxing evening viewing with a glass of wine while being serenaded by loon calls. It was a great place to wrap up the day after strenuous hiking.

Norcross Cottage was a cozy, beautiful, comfortable home away from home that had everything we needed to make our stay wonderful. The cottage was decorated with antiques and pieces that were true to its history. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable. We loved kayaking on the lake, and it was incredibly generous of the hosts to allow usage of their kayaks, canoe and paddle boat! The location was a great launching point for hiking Mount Katahdin and exploring Baxter State Park.

We had a great trip to northern Maine and Norcross Cottage! Faye and Don were great hosts! We are familiar with the area but, we were long overdue for a visit. Don and Faye had great suggestions for us. We enjoyed the use of their kayaks and boat rides! And they were available when we needed them. We had a great stay! We would definitely stay again.

Donny and Faye were lovely - their property was very comfortable, and they clearly go above and beyond to make it a good experience. We loved staying on the water, and they even took us out on their boat for a tour of the surrounding lakes. We really enjoyed our time there (especially our kids), and we would definitely go back!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Norcross cottage - it was such a charming, clean, and spacious place, surrounded by so much beautiful nature. We thoroughly enjoyed our stat at this quaint lakeside cottage, tastefully decorated with antiques. It was great to have access to the owners if needed but it had everything we needed so there was no need to bother them. The lakeview was wonderful even though it was a little chilly to spend time outside. We would definitely stay here again if the need arises.

It’s got a very cozy, down-home feeling, like staying with extended family. The hosts were generous to open the property to us during their off-season. Due to snow on the ground, ice on the lake and general “mud season,” we didn’t have a chance to hike or canoe… but we really only hoped for a quiet spot to see the total solar eclipse and Norcross
cottage was just that. Faye and Donny are delightful folks!

The Short version. UNREAL and you will NOT find a better host then Don and Faye. Don is a wealth of information on the area. Both will interact and much or as little as you’d like. The ONLY pit fall is no laundry on-site and the in town self-service laundry mat (apx 7-miles) isn’t real accommodating. But if I could leave a 6-Star I would!!!!! Thanks Donny (Mr. Perfect, lol) and Faye, we WILL be back.

Went up Fishing in October with my two sons and a friend. Faye and Don are awsome hosts house has everything you need Inside is full off great photos and vintage decor. There are multiple Books and maps about Maine and its history. Wifi ad satellite tv where great.plenty of towels, blankets and pillows for our stay. We caught bass pickerel and fallfish in the Lake the cove is protected from the wind so it is perfect fo kayaking. They just added a double kayak so plenty of boats. They thought of everything from fishing gear to firewood. AWSOME place close to Kathadin with everthing you need 5 stars look forward to staying again.Thank you Faye and Donny

This property is on a stunningly beautiful lake. Check-in was easy and we appreciated learning about the history of the house. The kitchen was well stocked and comfortable. We spent time kayaking the lake. This was a quiet and comfortable location.

This is a lovely place with a quaint and antique feel, but with modern touches where it matters most (kitchen, bathrooms, heating/cooling, etc.). The hosts Donnie and Faye live on site and go above and beyond to help you feel at home, and are more than happy to share their knowledge of the area, or will let you be if that's what you prefer. My family got way more than we expected here and would not hesitate to go back.

We spent a lovely long vacation weekend with our 3 little girls on the lake. We loved the decor and the books and our kids enjoyed the stuffed animal collection. The kayaking was really very beautiful and the special boat trip around the lake that Don gave us was a very special way experience to cap our stay. It was so nice to meet such sweet, welcoming and acomidating hosts. The girls say thank you for the special rocks they received. We will definitely try to return for another trip in the future. We've stayed in a few lakeside cottages, but this one was different: a Victorian farmhouse full of antiques! Very comfortable, right on a lake, and about as close as you can get to Mt. Katahdin and the rest of Baxter State Park. The hosts Don and Faye are above and beyond.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Norcross Cottage. We love historical homes, and this one had everything we were looking for especially being close to the water to get out on the lake with the kayaks/canoes that were provided. The place is located in a quiet cove, but you can walk down the road to the boat launch and the more open part of the lake. We drove back and forth to Baxter State Park several times, and into town for some meals, and Faye and Don were helpful with suggestions on places to eat and where to go to see moose! Not having been to Maine before, the historical background that Don gave was interesting, as were some of the books that are there.

Our 9 day stay was amazing. The place is a slice of heaven in our everyday hectic lives. The cottage had everything we needed including kayakes and canoes plus a boat dock for our boat. We spent 5 of the best days on the boat exploring the various lakes and islands.
The owners were extremely nice and knowledgeable of the area. You couldn’t pick better owners to rent property from.
If you are looking for peace and quiet and great time with family/friends then this place is for you.

What a wonderful way to spend a weekend! Don and Faye were warm, welcoming and responsive. They provided helpful information that aided us in successfully exploring the area, when we weren't fishing right off the dock and boating on the lovely, peaceful cove. The cottage is spacious and well-stocked, and we loved the AC! We would love to return, hopefully for a longer stay in the future!

We are 3 half marathoners and 1 full marathoner who had never been to Millinocket. Faye and Donny were so welcoming and provided a welcoming environment and great history on the cottage and the area! It was a warm and comforting home to return to after a long race! We’d love to come back to enjoy alternate seasons!

If you enjoy charming older homes, this is the place for you! Don and Faye are gracious hosts at their lovely lakefront property. We were there to pick up our thru hiker finishing the Appalachian Trail and this was an ideal location for that. That kept us busy so we didn't take advantage of the lake but it was a beautiful setting. They also gave us great recommendations about where to eat. We really enjoyed our stay and would return there if we are ever in the area again. We hit it just perfect for the Fall colors.

Faye and Don were great hosts. The house is in a very quiet small neighborhood right on the lake. You can kayak right from the property or drive up the road a bit and find hundreds of miles of sight seeing and hiking trails. Perfect little vacation.

We borrowed the kayaks on the lake for a beautiful view of the mountains and finished our nights off gathered around a fire under the stars. This was such a perfect getaway for friends. We would absolutely stay here a second time when we're back in the area

Faye and Don were great hosts. Place is on a group of 5 lakes and great spot to visit Baxter State Park. We used their kayaks one day to check out the lakes and also went on a boat ride with Faye and Don.Place is clean and well equipped for a nice vacation. As mentioned in previous reviews the train went by a couple of nights and my wife and I thought this was very cool. Highly recommend staying here.
