This place is really nice. I think we have stayed in 8 different Crimson units and this is probably 2nd on the list. The only issues were the washer, dryer and the couch. The washer had to be reset every time we used it. The dryer would take four to five cycles to dry the clothes. The just looks nasty and old (threw a blanket over it).

I have been staying for many years at the crimson 101. This the first year that I feel this place is overpriced for the experience. The ac unit does not cool more than 75 degrees. the refrigerator has 2 shelves that are being held with duct tape, the couch is so old that it really doesn't recline vey well. I love the location and that has been the number 1 reason why I have stayed there for so many years.

At checkout I submitted a list of conditions that I would hope are corrected before we visit next year. This is our 3rd time renting Crimson 101 and fell that the unit is not being maintained properly, needs new paint, rusted metal closet doors, missing light bulbs, sticky floors, etc. The couches are getting old and need to be replaced.

The Crimson in a great spot to walk to almost anything you need. The pool was not heated or at least the heater was not on. The pool area was not very big. There was a door missing where the washer and dryer were which made it very loud when the washer was running. The condo was clean and the staff at check in and check out were very nice and helpful.

We loved this condo and the location. The only thing that I wish was a little better was the size of the TV's in the bedrooms. Although we don't watch much TV, it would be nice if the tv's were larger so it is more enjoyable when you do watch. Being directly across from John's Pass is absolutely fantastic. Not having to get in a car, unless you just want to, for the entire week is great. There are plenty of restaurants and shops just across the street. The beach is beautiful. The staff in the office were very friendly. The condo is stocked with well. I have already booked for next year for 2 weeks!

We have rented from SunHost before, and have usually stayed at Maderia Norte. This year we decided to go upscale a bit and try Crimson Condos. Our unit was very roomy and comfortable, and very well furnished. We were especially pleased with the quality of the patio furniture. That is where we find some condos skimp a bit. The condo was thoroughly cleaned before we arrived. We were hoping to get in right at 4:00 but had to wait a bit, but with John's Pass right across the street, we had something to do. The elevator was out for most of our stay, but we had a first floor condo, the stairway was literally across the hall, so it was no problem for us. The pool is cleaned daily (we watched every morning). The beach is beautiful and not crowded at all, even during a peak season. We love staying near John's Pass with so much to do there, we rarely drive somewhere. Favorites are the Mad Beach Fish House, Mad Beach Brewing Co., and Daquiri Shack. The manager on site was super friendly and helful. Sure to be back in the area in the future.

We loved this place as well as the location. Everything was walking distance. This particular condo was nice. It was clean and the beds were comfy. They only complaint was it needs a little updating especially the guest bathroom. But otherwise I would stay here again. The view from the balcony was spectacular. Parking was good also. If you get there early don't expect to get in early. We were handed the key basically right at 4.00.

Crimson April 9-19 2022
I was a bit worried when I couldn't find any current reviews of Crimson on the Gulf. The front office staff was very helpful, courteous, and quick to respond to our requests. Crimson might not be what you are looking for if you are looking for a quiet get away. One issue we had was with the resort next door Beach Place, constant noise, loud music, kids unsupervised, parties... which made enjoying the balcony in the evening not possible. Unsupervised kids at Crimson in the pool way past city noise ordinance, yelling and screaming well into the late night, finally addressed by management when WE figured out who the renters were. A security company might be worth the investment to monitor the resorts for such incidents, rather than expecting quests to take care of such incidents. The condo does have a million dollar view when you can enjoy it. I would suggest to the owner to update the unwelcoming furniture in the TV room, very old and dirty looking. The Hall bathroom had paint and plaster peeling off the wall and what appeared to be mold around the vent and peeling paint. Balcony furniture has been replaced with a great Bistro table and lounge chair. The main sliding door doesn't have a lock on it so you have to use the piece of wood to secure the door. We got locked in the condo one day, the front office was quick to rescue us and get a locksmith out there to replace the lock. The condo is very spacious, and a well equipped kitchen even though we never cooked there, too many Great restaurants. Loved the beach spent the entire week renting the beach chairs (175.00) while enjoying the sounds of the ocean. John's Pass was a great place to eat and enjoy the water sites. Sunsets at Crimson were unbelievable. Maderia Beach was a great get away with a few bumps in the road with our stay.

There were a few maintenance issues but the two huge negatives during our 12 day stay were the red tide which caused respiratory issues and prevented us from going into the gulf and the constant noise and air pollution from the sand blast cleaning of the exterior of the adjacent condo building.
Although these factors were not due the fault of Management we should have been advised of these issues beforehand as we might have cancelled or postponed our trip.

Great spot and great rental!
We rented the house and casita with my sister and her husband. We took advantage of both the house and casita. Nice to have to separate living areas. Both very well appointed and very clean. Nice furniture and beds! Back yard with patio and hot tub a fantastic plus for enjoying the outdoors. Very conveniently close to the airport and Route 66 with dining, breweries and pubs. Jessie is so helpful. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals and this was one of the best!

Location is ideal & beach is great. Pool was nice. Condo itself needs to be better stocked with basics. We found no salt & pepper; no paper towels; no dust pan; no pot holders; not even a small amount of laundry soap -- these have always been in any condo we've rented, which we do nearly every year. Kitchen should have been cleaner -- food splatters on the cabinets & stove. There were 3 light bulbs burned out. Master is done well. Second bedroom badly needs new mattress & fresher looking deco. We liked the smaller building compared to the larger complexes. Might rent there again -- probably a different unit. Office was helpful.

Location is awesome
The condo was in a great location, right on the beach and on first floor so easy to walk back for bathroom breaks and food. Additionally, 'John's Pass' village is across the street which offers shopping, restaurants, bars, ice cream and more.
Accommodations were nice... could use a new couch.
Only complaint was there was construction work going on in the parking garage of the building next door which caused a lot of noise and dust. Might want to ask if that work is complete before booking.

We had such a great vacation! Crimson 101 is beautiful and the attention to detail didn't go unnoticed. The beds are so comfortable and the updates and decor are very nice. The unit was spotless and the view can't be beat. We'll be back to 101 as soon as possible.

Very nice Condo. With the Canadian dollar exchange, it was quite costly. Other condos managed by Sunhost Resort would have been cheaper. On occasion, children in pool and hot tub area with all their toys and drinks, made it impossible to swim or enjoy hot tub. Also, had to buy supplies like paper towels, toilet tissue, etc. For the cost of Condo, these items should have been included. However, when booking condo, administrative and office staff were excellent. Therefore, I would definitely book with Sunhost Resorts again.
