This was our second time staying here. The cottage is clean, comfortable, quiet, and walking distance to restaurants and La Jolla Shores. Great communication. A small issue arose while staying there this time, as sometimes happens even in very well taken care of houses, and Marilyn and Greg were extraordinarily quick to respond and resolve. Only minor suggestion is that the feather bed topper doesn't quite fit the king bed, and might consider replacing or removing - but this is a very minor point and the bed was comfortable regardless. Would highly recommend!

Came for our usual visit from the Bay Area to see mom/grandma in San Diego. This spot was perfect for everyone, beach (with great gear: chairs, umbrella etc) for our oldest, lounging around watching TV for the younger, runs and hikes (Torrey Pines trail very close drive) for hubs and hilly walks for me (I made it to the top of LJ Village Drive this year!). La Jolla kayak is 2minutes away and the sea kayaking is fun for all ages. We stayed here in 2013 when the kids were little. But with 4 adults, it’s now too small for us. Recommend this place as ideal for family of 4 with small kids. Some items in the kitchen were not super clean, but washable. But overall we had a lovely, restful vacation.

My wife and I and our two boys (9 and 7yo) had a great time. The home is a perfect size for our family and the outdoor spaces (front yard, interior court yard) were great additional spaces we took advantage of. It's a short walk to the beach, which we made every day, and an even shorter walk to the restaurants, cafes, retail. The beds were comfortable and clean, everything is as advertised. We would come back again (and again)!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - the place is perfect and in a great location. Short distance to the Main Street and a few blocks from the beach - can’t beat it. Everything is comfortable and I felt at home almost immediately. Highly recommend.

Loved staying here with our two kids (5, 7). The location was amazing-- a very short drive to downtown La Jolla, but walkable to the beach and a little strip of restaurants, coffee shops, and shops. House was great, had everything you could need in the kitchen, little patio outside was peaceful for relaxing and reading a book. Owner could not be more amazing in terms of communication. Any question she responded within minutes and made sure we were doing well in the house. Only issue we had was the washer dryer combo wasn't working when we were there-- washer did't work at first (then we got it going), but dryer wouldn't work at all. Owner was very apologetic and said they would get it fixed. But overall fantastic place and would highly recommend.

This cottage is beautiful, clean and has everything you need. Complete with fire pit to make s’mores. Beautifully decorated as well. Great location. 5-10 min walk to beach. Perfect for family of 4. There is space for everyone to spread out if they want alone time. Lots of toiletries provided as well as plenty of towels

We've been staying at Marilyn's cottage for 8 or 9 years and it continues to be one of our favorite rental properties. The cottage is small but well laid out, with plenty of privacy between bedrooms and ample storage. We love the outdoor space for morning coffee and afternoon happy hours and the close proximity to town and beautiful La Jolla Shores beach. The house is always spotless and Marilyn is very responsive and helpful. We look forward to returning year after year.

This property is perfect, and the second time we have stayed. It accommodates our family of 4 perfectly. We have two young kids and the fenced-in front yard is lovely. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The beds are comfy. We will be back!

My sons and I loved our stay at this property. The house was immaculate and the location is incredible. There is also parking, a two car garage, which is tight with two cars but we had a minivan and the other tenant had a small SUV and we both fit. It was wonderful to have a designated parking space. You can walk to the beach and multiple restaurants. The hosts were super as I could not find the can opener and they brought one over with flowers. There is an outside area that is completely private but allows you to see the sky. The bedrooms are also on separate sides of the small house, which was really nice as I had my two teens boys with me and I didn’t have to look at their messy room.:) I would definitely stay there again.

For our family of 3 (2 adults and 1 teen), this property was the perfect size. We walked to coffee and then down by the ocean every morning and then back to hang out at the patio table and enjoy the breeze. The unit was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

We love this house. It is pretty, clean, super comfortable, and convenient to restaurants and the beautiful La Jolla Shores beach. The owners are very responsive and helpful. We will be back next year. Arriving back feels like "coming home!"

The location is fantastic, very close to the beach and restaurants. We had to do some cleaning in the kitchen, the floors and the outdoor furniture had a lot of cobwebs/dirt. The beds and linens were great. The couch is pretty uncomfortable though and replacing would make the house more comfortable. Overall, it was a nice stay, but thought the place could use some TLC.

This was our second time staying in this cottage - last time we stayed on the other side of the duplex. It’s always clean, stocked with everything we need (kitchen utensils and cookware, plentiful towels, books, cards, beach toys, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc.). We love it! See you next year!!

Second time at this property, and it was just as good as the first time. The house is very comfortable and well laid out. The two outdoor areas are lovely. Location is perfect -- quiet street near shops and restaurants and a short walk to La Jolla Shores beach. Marilyn is communicative and easy to work with. We will definitely be back again.

This is a great vacation rental. 10/10 would recommend and stay here again. This space worked amazing for our 2 and 4-year-old with this fenced-in yard.

The house is small but the patio area with the fireplace have us some space to hang out when at the house. Very clean, close to many amenities and easy drive to zoo, marina, and La Jolla Cove. Easy walk to dinner, beach, and coffee. The neighbor “frank” kept insisting that his nephew’s ball was in our “back yard” but it was not. It became a little annoying, but overall a small inconvenience.

Marilyn’s is a lovely home and is exactly as described. We were so fortunate to spend two weeks there enjoying La Jolla Shores. Everything was spotless, the kitchen was well equipped and the linens were high quality. We especially appreciated the very private courtyard, as well as the outdoor dining table in the front. Although the home is only about a block from restaurants and shops, it was very quiet. Marilyn was a wonderful host and was very responsive to our questions about the area. Don’t hesitate to book this if you are lucky enough to find it available!

We stayed for 3 weeks and had a lovely time. Marilyn was extremely helpful and prompt in addressing all of our questions. The property is well maintained and clean...we had no issues from start to finish. We really liked the feel of the place -- very quiet with great privacy inside and on the terrace. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and all of the technology worked well. The property is a very short walk to the beach, restaurants, convenience stores, coffee places etc etc! Enjoy!

This is the second time my family stayed at Marilyn’s property in La Jolla Shores and it won’t be the last. The house is EVERYTHING you could hope for in a rental property—clean house, ample room, lovely outdoor area with fire pit, and LOCATION…two blocks from the ocean. Marilyn is an A+ host. She is responsive, kind, and genuinely wants her guests to have a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Having stayed in many places at the Shores over the years this place was certainly one of if not the best. Clean, great communication with owners, wonderful location. We had two cars and were able to find street parking in front without issues which can be a real problem at the shores and you have access to garage parking for one car. Master Bed very comfortable. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time in La Jolla Shores at this property. The cottage is very cute, extremely clean and just the right size for our family of three - with plenty of storage for our week’s stay. It’s located only a few yards from the local restaurants and bars - which are pedestrianized in the evening - but it’s still a very peaceful and quiet area, with most of the activity shutting down before 10pm. Having the use of the detached garage was great as the surrounding street parking gets busy during the day with beachgoers. The communication from Marilyn was first class and was able to allow us early entry to the cottage, having arrived from a very early morning flight. Will certainly return when back in this area!

Lovely home located just a block from the restaurants in La Jolla Shores and two blocks to the beach. Very nicely maintained and comfortable, clean, well finished home. Wonderful indoor/outdoor environment perfect for relaxing. Marilyn is a wonderful host and we expect to stay again.

The property was perfectly located within a 2 minute walk to the ocean and several fine indoor and outdoor dining opportunities. We found the house to be immaculate upon arrival, and fully stocked with everything you would need for a beach getaway. The manager of the property, Marilyn, was so kind and accommodating as well. We had a fantastic stay at the mod cabin in La Jolla near the beach. The cabin itself has everything you might need and is very cute. It is also a friendly environment for small children. The location is phenomenal; within walking distance to the beach, good restaurants, and the Cove. The hosts were super accommodating and easy to reach. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend this vacation rental.

What an amazing property, five minutes walk from La Jolla Shores. It is clear the owners understand and appreciate small detail, from the quality utensils and kitchenware to an appropriate height nozzle to wash your feet after a day at the beach. Everything was perfect and the owners were always responsive. Thanks for an amazing trip!

I stayed here with my family and we could not have been happier with our choice. My expectations were actually exceeded! The space was beautiful, minimal and luxurious at the same time. The proximity to the beach and restaurants was amazing, but the unit was quite, private and felt like a retreat. I'm hoping this stays a rental for years because we can't wait to come back.

Wonderful stay so close to the beach and great food. Patio fire pit was a perfect add. Master bath could use an upgrade adding some storage space but overall everything was great.

This home is the perfect spot! Our family had an amazing time. Marilyn has thought of everything you would need on vacation to make your accommodations stress free. The patio is great in the evening to hang out in and morning coffee on the front patio. I had a quick question and Marilyn was so quick with the response. We hope to come back in July!
