Charming and comfortable cottage in a small town with fascinating history and also at the intersection of several hiking trails. We had the best sleep each night. The gallery art in the cottage added flair and interest. We would definitely recommend Dove Cottage.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dove Cottage. It perfectly accommodated two elderly grandparents, three kids ages 9,14 and 17 along with my wife and I for a week’s stay in the Cotswolds. We loved the updates mixed with some of the historical nuisances of the cottage. It was appropriately outfitted to allow for multiple evenings of cooking in while also being within easy walking distance of several great local Winchcombe Pubs. We utilized the wood burning stove on a few chilly evenings and it took away the chill and set a cozy atmosphere in the front room. It was a wonderful place to call home for the week and we would absolutely stay again.

The Dove Cottage was absolutely perfect! We traveled from Texas to visit the town my great grandmother was born in. The home provided us a great space to fit 3 adults and 2 children. We had a beautiful sitting room to enjoy our family coming to visit from cheltenham. The cottage was filled with beautiful art and so much love. Loved the North Bakery close by.

What a wonderful cottage and location. Right on the High street, a quick walk from anything you need, in a charming historic village. We appreciated the hosts' proactive host communication to ensure we had everything we needed. The cottage was beautifully appointed and comfortable. Wouldn't change a thing. If we are lucky enough to make it back to the Cotswolds, we'll rebook at the same place.

Lovely property in great location.
Everything was as advertised.
Well equipped but would have found extra tea towels and hand towels for kitchen and downstairs cloakroom useful .

We had a wonderful time here at Doves Cottage.
It’s a charming place in the heart of Winchcombe and served us well as home base to explore the Cotswolds.
A handful of coffee shops markets and restaurants - even one with a Michelin star - are just a few steps away.
The house itself is very well appointed.
It doubles as an art studio so there many works on display which makes the decor top notch and they are available for purchase as well.
There were eight of us and we all fit nicely - beds for all - two and a half baths - common area seating.
The back walkway and garden are beautiful with foliage and flowers - be sure to yell out Squirrel! when you see it on the neighbors house.
Sudeley Castle is very close - we walked - about 30 minutes - and a definite must see - there’s a queen buried there.
Many thanks to Katharine for her hospitality!

Loved it! First time in this part of the Cotswolds and found this to be an ideal location to explore from. Local restaurants were very good. Beds were very comfortable.
Definitely recommend!
Surely Castle was well worth the visit.

Extremely well suited for two couples. Comfortable, roomy, clean, charming, and in an excellent location for visiting The Cotswolds. Within walking distance of shops, pubs, and restaurants. Couldn't have been happier with our choice of lodging.

Dove Cottage, in the historic town of Winchcombe, has been lovingly restored to welcome its visitors. Within 2 blocks of Dove Cottage, visitors can find everything they need. Lots of opportunity for walks through the Cotswolds and opportunities to explore the fascinating history of the area. Bus service to places further afield is excellent, so day trips are easy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The village of Winchcombe is charming and easily accessible to nearby Cotswold villages. There are a few pubs and restaurants which served very good, local food. We initially struggled with heating the home but after calling the owners, we were instructed on what to do to make the space cozy and warm. The beds were comfortable and included nice linens.
The kitchen was lacking in basic supplies like napkins, paper towels, cream for coffee, etc. It would have been nice to have had a "welcome" offering of a bottle of wine or a few pieces of fruit. There is a nice espresso maker and the owners had left coffee for us.

We spent two weeks in Dove Cottage, absolutely enjoyed it! For our family of five (2 adults, 3 kids 6-14 yr old) the cottage was a good fit. It offered a very good base for exploring the region. One minor issue is that early morning it can be noisy at the street side, not a big problem for us though. We had a very good time, thanks!

Lovely Cottage and Gallery in great location
Overall this is an ideal property near the centre of the village where you have a very private sitting area to the rear with double doors opening from the dining area making it ideal for an evening sit and quiet drink. Close to shops, pub and takeaway with just a minute or two walk to all the local amenities. The cottage is a little quirky but full of character. We had a couple of very very minor niggles but nothing that would prevent us rebooking this property - sticking garden gate at rear and dripping sink tap - sure they will be fixed now we have pointed them out.

Fabulous!
We stayed at Dove Cottage for 5 days but wished we could have stayed for longer. This accommodation was fantastic, lovely and clean, lovely art :)
The location is perfect and the car park for a pound was literally a 5 minute walk at most so a bargain. It is a lovely little cottage in a beautiful village which we would recommend to anyone. Thank you!

A lovely few days in Winchcombe
The property has been beautifully decorated and is a charming place to stay. It suited us perfectly as there were only three of us on this occasion so we had plenty of room. The beds were very comfortable, the showers were great and everything was very clean. The kitchen appeared to have most bits and pieces although we had already decided we would not be cooking any meals on this holiday. We can recommend the Chinese takeaway which is just around the corner and The White Hart pub in the village. Unfortunately the fish and chip shop was closed on Sunday and Monday so we went further afield to Cleeve. You literally have everything you need on your doorstep - lovely bakery, little grocery shop, gift shop etc. Winchcombe is a beautiful and very historic place to visit with plenty of pretty walks with Sudeley Castle also within walking distance. There is a bit of noise from the gallery when it's open and from the high street first thing in the morning, but it didn't bother us at all. The dishwasher is a bit high up to use, but we'd read the previous reviews so were prepared for that and just washed up our few bits. We really loved the house and would love to visit again.

First getaway in the Cotswolds
Overall the property was lovely. Well looked after, beautiful period features and well maintained. It’s the First time we have stayed in somewhere like this and was really pleased with the property. Although we knew the property was on the high street, we didn’t count on there being a delivery at the newsagent just a door down from the property every morning from 4.30 - 5 am onwards every morning . So unfortunately we were both woken up every morning with the slamming of car doors and people talking really loudly. This also set our dog off barking which was a bit of a nightmare. Couldn’t open the windows because of this so was really hot to sleep at night. Really don’t like saying as the property really was lovely, but the kitchen drawers, cooker and floor weren’t that clean when we arrived. I know if I had mentioned it at the time the owners would have probably remedied this but I’m not one to complain. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to stay, Winchcombe is one of the most beautiful villages I have ever been to and would definitely come back to stay again but maybe not the best place to stay if your a light sleeper.

A really well presented property but very noisy with the front art gallery. Kettle boiling and voices very easily heard all throughout the day in the living area and main bedroom. Living area not comfortable for more than 4 people and we were a family of 5. No room at the dining table, although cottage advertised as catering for up to 6 guests. Lounge also did not have enough seating for more than 4 guests. Dishwasher very hard to load at the height it was installed at. Glasses were very used looking and finally garden much smaller than we thought. It was lucky we were only staying for 4 nights and mostly eating out. Very clean and tidy and well presented for a smaller family of 4. Good contact with vendor when requested but otherwise no immediate contact or conversations before we arrived. On request of some extra sheets we were told none were available, although the suggestion to transfer sheets from another bed was adequate. Overall, better for only a family of 4.

Great stay
Lovely property and large enough to house a family of 4 and a dog. Centrally placed to be able to get around and visit other pretty Cotswolds villages yet everything on your doorstep in the town of Winchcombe; plenty of places to eat out, shops etc.

Beautiful cottage
The cottage is beautiful but although I'd selected parking as part of my criteria I wasn't aware that there wasn't parking at the cottage till after we'd paid, however there is a short stay car park within a 90 second walk of the cottage and a long stay car park (£1 per day) within 5 minutes walk, the cottage only has one entrance which has steep steps and my mum found it difficult as there's no hand rail, overall the cottage and surrounding area is stunning and you have everything you need although it's lucky we don't use dish washers as it was high up and there was zero chance of us using it, I found the information in the cottage regarding the bins very confusing and contradictory and there were lots of messages back and forth with the owner to clarify this.

Great place and area to stay
Excellent except for shower doors which were loose and felt dangerous for the children

Lovely house in a beautiful village
We had a lovely week away and would recommend this property. The second flight of stairs to the top level is without much of a handrail, less suitable for children or less mobile people
