Location can't be beat -- Avra Pahainas is away from the annoying and cramped tourist hubbub in Adamantas and Pollonia. You definitely need a car to stay here, but it's so worth it. We came for our honeymoon and it was so romantic and secluded. Staff was kind, rooms were clean and spacious (we had two separate private terraces), and daily breakfast was delicious. The winds on the north side of the island are quite strong, but we really loved how it never felt too hot in/around our apartment.

Buffet breakfast was poor and food not refilled properly- constantly during breakfast hours. Coffee from the automatic machine was not drinkable, and the landlord denied to serve a proper coffee, even though he had the facility and personnel to prepare a coffee. We found his response rude, as he got upset when we complained about the coffee and he responded that this was the best they could serve. Toilet was dirty and I had to clean it upon our arrival. That was an unfortunate oversight, as the rest of the facility was very clean.

the host/owner is not hospitable, makes me wonder whatever happened to Greek hospitality. he is extremely unaccommodating. room that we got was dated, shower was rusty and the room had a bad laundry smell and sweat smell. I didn’t feel comfortable at all throughout my stay. the owner even refused to change our daily beach towels, expecting us to reuse the heavy and wet towels every day. worst stay ever, I would not recommend you to book this place-there are better places elsewhere!

We really enjoyed the location, Pachena was close to some lovely beaches including Sarakiniko. Breakfast each day was a lovely spread and a nourishing way to start each day. Management was very accomodating with our needs regarding an extra third person staying with us too. Great parking on site for our rental car.

There was only one day where room service forgot to re-supply toilet paper otherwise everything was in great order.

The property is very well managed by the host and the staff. The rooms are exceptionally clean, and the host is always available and provides any assistance for all guests. Lovely stay with great views.

My partner and I stayed at the Avra Pahanis from the 12th - 15th of July. The location was nice as it was close to the beach so it included a nice view. The Papafragas beach is a shortish walk and an interesting attraction to see. The main town was a 10-15 minute drive and Pollonia was a short 5 minute drive. If you stay here you will need a form to transport to get around. The air conditioning does work very well, which was nice on the hot & sun burnt days. The wifi was also fast and reliable.

We did struggle with a few elements of the stay. Firstly, we had a very bright green light that stayed on or flashed all night. It was the light to the Emergancy exit, which we were told was island law, not suggesting that it isn’t but was very bizarre. I have done lots of traveling and not once seen this. Some towels and t-shirts to cover the light sorted this issue. Room cleanliness and room service was an issue for us. Whilst room service did come daily they only made the bed, no fresh towels and no replacing any of the room condiments. The main issue for us was the bathroom cleanliness. The toilet had genital hairs in and around the bowl and the shower had long brown hair in the drain for the first 2 days. None of which belonged to my partner or I. Granted it was cleaned on day 2 of 3 but I don’t think it’s unfair to assume it shouldn’t have been there to start. Another issue we had was that the cleaner left her rag in our bathroom. This isn’t the end of the world, but showed a lack of attention to detail, which was a constant theme. The breakfast was also odd, the photos online do not reflect what is on offer at the accomodation. This stay has both positives and negatives for what we got. Overall for the price we paid and what we got, we wouldn’t stay again nor recommend mainly based on the hygiene issues.

The balcony and the views from the room were the best part. The breakfast was good too.

This is a really lovely hotel with super friendly staff. The hotel is located close to 2 beaches - one is a classic sandy beach and the other one is in between 2 huge rocks (really beautiful). I got a very spacious room with a kitchen on one floor and a bedroom on a lower floor (separate room). I also got access to 2 private taracess! Breakfast is good, there is a selection of basic things (boiled eggs, bread, sweet and sour things + Greek specialties), every day there is also different warm dish.

The only thing I didn't like was the shower. The bathroom in general is ok but the shower head is not mounted to the wall. I do think is a little inconvenient but not a big deal.

Beautiful boutique hotel with amazing sea views. This place was outstanding - located right next to a beautiful, quite beach- the views are really stunning. The rooms are stylishly decorated and are cleaned daily and the sheets are changed daily too - this is a great bonus. the breakfast is so delicious and cooked daily with fresh ingredients, there is so much choice too (like 4 kinds of milk (one is vegan), everything is very thoughtful and considered. Our kids are fussy eaters, but the breakfast was their daily highlight. The couple that run the hotel are so lovely and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Breakfast is predefined - you only choose the drinks. Even though the food is quite good (but mostly sweet...) and homemade, if you don't like it, its your loss... The shower head was nothing like the photos - did not even have place to hold it on top. The communication with the owner is not easy - i received an email indicating the reception opening times (closing at 3pm and re-opening at 7pm). We did our best to be there before the 3pm (arrived at 1 pm) and we were surprised to know that the room was not ready - "check in is after 2pm and obviously we would adapt to the arrival". This was not mentioned. We had to leave early in the morning - around 6.30/6.45 am - and while organizing it with the owner (it was before the reception opening times) he mentions "i am going to trust you that you didn't destroy the room". It does not give a guest a very nice feeling specially for the price you pay for night. Customer treatment is not their best feature.

Where do I start. The guy running the hotel was really rude, that was the biggest problem. When we asked if we could get the copy of our passport back when we left he said “this is not some criminal place we are running here” ok… During our entire stay he wore the same sweatpants which doesn’t really give the impression I want when I stay in a Hotell on my vacation. We told the staff that we were vegetarians and got served meat for breakfast anyway and when we told them they couldn’t arrange anything else, really bad service. The hotel doesn’t have anything close so you can’t do anything like going to a bar or restaurant. What they call their private beach is some cliffs that is impossible to swim from, we never saw a person there. I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying at this place, there are so many nicer areas and hotels in Milos.

The hotel is located in a calm neighbourhood, on walking distance from a beautiful sandy beach and Papafragas. It’s only a few minutes drive to the main towns/cities of the island, as well as other must sees. The hotel has a large parking space and a cosy bar with a great view. The breakfast is delicious and a daily surprise. The hosts are very friendly.

Great place with a view of the sea. Large room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable. Olive oil products in the bathroom. Perfect breakfast, featuring good local produce. Very welcoming and smiling hosts.

The big point of this hotel is clearly the breakfast ..; incredible. Every day different and extremely well presented including a savoury, bread based, fruit and dessert with excellent presentation and quality. The owner and staff are welcoming and freindly. The position near Pollonian and the various north cost beasches / rocky swimming spots is super.

We did not take dinner as the opening hours are pretty limited at 19:00-21:00. We get back from the days activities after 19:00 and so are not really ready to eat before 21:00 .. so too late. We imagine the dinner is as good as the breakfast in terms of originality and quality.
