We absolutely loved this property! The pool was awesome!! It was the perfect way to unwind after being at the beach all day. The view from the upper deck of the ocean was breathtaking! Joyce was great to work with! Thank you!

We had an amazing stay at this vacation house. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 children and some fur babies. The view every morning was one of the best parts. We could sit on the deck and watch the kiddos play in the sand on the beach! Loved it!!

We enjoyed our time there. Very relaxing.

The house could not be in a more perfect location, just steps away from the beach. Half our stay had beautiful weather, letting us use the pool and ocean. The other half was rainy, cold, and windy forcing us to stay inside. But sitting inside at this house, looking out at the views, still beats sitting inside anywhere else. First family vacation in years did not disappoint!

M6 family and I were blown away with the views and how close the location is to the ocean. We will be staying here again!

The house is literally steps from the beach. In the high chairs on the porch you see over the rails and right to ocean. We saw dolphins. Baby sea turtles hatched very close to us and the only rainy day produced double rainbow over the ocean. Only suggestion is more high chairs. Only two so that’s not enough and the pool stays COLD even in august. Maybe doesn’t get enough sun between houses. Epic vacation though.

The house was just as described. Plenty of towels and surprisingly beach towels!! Only problem we had is we had to leave. I feel sure we will rent again in the future.

We had a great experience staying in this cottage. Our group was 6 adults, which was the perfect fit. The location truly couldn't be better - right on the beach and in the middle of the island, so it was easy to go either toward Atlantic Beach and vicinity or the main area of Emerald Isle. This is an older cottage that has been thoughtfully updated. The spiral staircase would be difficult for older folks or anyone with mobility issues to navigate. As others have noted, the access to the pool requires going outside -- I didn't think that was an issue, but some may. Well stocked equipment in kitchen. Everything was clean. My only real complaints would be the towels were kind of gray -- formerly white towels that had been washed a million times and one of the downstairs bathrooms had an extremely small kind of dank shower. Overall, it was a great experience with an unbeatable location and I would stay here again.

We loved our first visit to Emerald Isle and the location of the house. Loves - Aaron, maintenance. The A/C was not working when we arrived I was disappointed this had not been reported to management. I called Aaron and we discussed how to handle. I told him to not worry, that we would just use the fans and open the windows. Aaron kept me constantly updated and offered to bring out portable A/C units. I declined. Busy Bee put in a new system on the third day. Dislikes - no call from management about the problem A/C. Yes, I spoke with Aaron but I would have expected a call from the office. A coupon for a discount on ice cream would have gone a long way those first couple of days.

Our host Joyce & her team were responsive & extremely helpful. The house was as advertised and we really enjoyed our stay ... so much so, we booked for next year already.

Pro: love the small ocean front homes, do not like the big houses taking over. Decorating of house was very nice. Location was perfect, nice big washer and dryer. Con: pool location, from first floor you have to go through the bedroom out the front door under the house to get to pool, from upstairs you have to go out the front door down stairs under house to get to pool, very inconvenient and with sand not good, safety of kids going in front of house without adult. Exterior doors could use updating especially door in bedroom going to pool. Windows without screens, bedrooms downstairs are very damp and cold not good for people with allergy. Downstairs shower very small, faucet in upstairs bathroom hard to turn, needs to be replaced.

Loved waking up to the sunrise right off the living room watch the sun cross the sky and ocean all day long and then watch the sunset at night. Charming home with plenty of room.

Walk down the stairs and your toes are in the sand! There’s nothing like sitting on the back deck, covered part, during a thunderstorm or on a beautifully clear night and see the ocean right in front of you. The house was a great location for a wedding we were attending at Merrell Estates and still minutes to the main area of Emerald Isle. Mattress’s could use replacement but overall would stay again in a minute!

We are a family of six with one 10 month old puppy. This house was an amazing find. Spent the days playing on the beach with early mornings and late evenings on the decks enjoying the views. Great pool area which was ideal for those that seek less sun but enjoy the outdoors (son from Colorado) The pool is shaded but a fantastic add! Puppy loved the beach and was so happy to be with his family. Will definitely be back next year as it was everything we wanted!! Thank you!!

The weather during our week was glorious. Grandsons loved the convenience of the beach and the pool - they spent morning to night out of doors - swimming, boogie boarding, and fishing. We had a restful and relaxing vacation. Thank you.

These are some problems we found: Main table is sticky even when clean. It’s clear the paint job never dried completely. Very, very few electrical outlets. In today’s age of having to “recharge” everything it shouldn’t be a major search to find an outlet. Spray fitting for the kitchen sink is very loose. Plantation blind in dining area (and many other windows) is too long and too wide for the window. Nice long counter for eating, but no electric outlet along its 12’ or so length. Vinyl weaving on outside rockers is loose and coming apart. Only 1 potholder. Silverware drawer doesn’t open/close properly and handle is loose. Nite lite bulb is burned out in the upper level bath. Dresser in upper level BR – 3rd drawer sticks and is basically unusable. One chair at the kitchen table has a leg dowel out of the hole – needs regluing. Standing mirror in upper BR is fragile and scary when one tries to move or adjust it. It looks like the framing is loose. Chunk of wood missing from bunkbed. Front door sticks – difficult to close (and open). Upper BR closet door sticks. Many sections (inside and out) need scraping and repainting. Ceiling in family room on upper level has paint cracking/peeling. Your recycling service is not adequate. The container was completely filled when we arrived. You might want to look into additional or larger containers. There seems to be a invasion of small ants around the kitchen sink area.

Pros: The location of this beach house and proximity to the beach is incredible! Take 20 steps from the house and you're on the beautiful beach. There aren't any condos/hotels near by so you have plenty of space on the beach without others being too close. You can sit on the deck and hear the waves. The house was clean and the decor was beachy, as to be desired. Grocery shopping and restaurants are only 10-15 minutes away. Most importantly, the ocean was extremely warm, the sand beach was beautiful and there were plenty of shells to be collected. It was definitely one of the nicest Atlantic coach beaches we've vacationed too! Cons: All the mattress are in rough condition and very uncomfortable, as well as, the couches in the living room. Additionally, it's very awkward trying to get to the pool - you either have to walk through a bathroom that's attached to a bedroom or go upstairs through the kitchen then back down outdoor stairs to get there (you can't access it from the deck). Additionally, you have to walk through sand to get in/out of the pool area so we constantly felt like our kids were dragging sand into the house (but to be expected when vacationing at the beach). The beach chairs and umbrellas that are on site are not of greatest quality so I suggest bringing your own equipment. Overall, my family had a wonderful time on our beach vacation. The beach is incredible and the location of this house is fantastic. With some upgrades to the furniture in the house and better pool access this property would be hard to beat!

My family especially granddaughters had a wonderful time ! Problems were attended to promptly and effectively. Property is close to the beach and the pool is a plus!

This place is absolutely perfect! We had the best week! You can not get any closer to the beach! You walk down the steps and you are there! The views from the porch are beautiful! The house is very clean and has the perfect beach feel! We really enjoyed the private pool! It was so relaxing after the day at the beach. Joyce is very easy to communicate with and was very responsive. I would definitely recommend this property!

We loved being right on the beach! Nothing beats watching the waves while sitting on the couch! Getting to see the ocean in every stage of the day and night was really special. The pool was also great fun with colored lights for night swimming! Some of the windows and doors were difficult to open and close but no big deal to put up with for a week. Overall it was a happy vacation!

We loved staying at 407 Ocean Dr. The management team, Joyce, Sonia, Aaron and the rest of their team, were just fantastic. The house is excellent, clean, nice and above all right smack on the beautiful Emerald Isle beach. My two boys, wife and I really enjoyed it. The pool was clean and well-maintained. A great stay - we highly recommend this place and the PDL company.

Love what you have done to an older beach house. Years ago I owned one of the first houses on Ocean Ridge. I always wanted to lighten the pine paneled walls with paint, but husband said no. You did it, and I love it, so light and colorful! My husband is in his 80s and couldn't go out on the beach, but enjoyed the deck, and the chair beside the window.

Awesome check in and out process and the location is ideal with the beach just steps from the back deck. The entrance to the pool area could use another entrance from the back deck, but definitely shouldn’t be a deal breaker. We wasn’t crazy about the beds as we are used to softer beds, but if you prefer firm beds, you won’t be disappointed. Would have been a plus to have TVs in every bedroom. The positives definitely out weigh the negatives based on our trip. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back.
