Excelllant breakfast

The only thing that could have been better is that you have to drive to town for dinner so one of us could not enjoy the fantastic wines of the area

I loved the authentic Douro Valley feel to the place. It took me back in time, when the Quinta was first established. Surrounding gardens are beautiful and serene. Fabulous place to forget about every day hustle and bustle and connect with the nature. The vistas are one of a kind, there is no other place like Douro Valley.

I can not think of anything. I liked everything. Yani and Anabel where great to welcome us and communicate throughout the stay. They always made sure we have everything we need to be happy.

The location was great. Close to everything. The rooms were meticulously clean and comfortable. Good breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay!! Exceptionally clean. Anabelle was very kind and breakfast was terrific. Great location, and room with view of river was beautiful. A bit difficult to find at first but definitely a great stay and would recommend.

Location was nice if you like wineyards, still the road could be with more lights and less dust

I find it too expensive, the road is dusty, wifi is available in the house only It should be mentioned that it is distant from the first place where you could have dinner

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip here! The view of the valley was absolutely breathtaking, the breakfast was delicious, and the wine tasting we scheduled there was our best in all of Portugal!

Great location just outside Peso da Guarda. Rooms 1, 3 and 5 have views over the vineyards and the Douro; the two other rooms face a garden that wraps around the side of the main building to a garden table with a view. Breakfast is copious. It’s a charming property with a nice rural feel. Joachim was a friendly host who obviously cares. Thanks for the welcome glass of Porto!

The location is beautiful and relaxing. Joaquim was really wonderful and knowledgeable about the wines, the Douro and made us feel welcome.

We upgraded to a vinyard view room and it was a stunning view and a lovely room!

We are very independent travellers so didnt mind the lack of contact with the owners! A lovely chap checked us in then you dont see them again! If you booked a wine tasting ( min 4 ) then I guess you would! If Im honest the breakfast was only adequate with hot food made then not replenshed so if you came late it was dry and not much left! Other half drove up the hill which is interesting and steep! Didnt bother him but some may struggle! We loved our stay but if you want room service and a pool this isnt for you!

the property is advertised as a Quinta, meaning winery. it’s not. it’s a converted barn with no permanent staff and no wine making being done there that I could see. it’s essentially an AirBnB priced as a hotel. even when the staff were there they were difficult to find.

The views are absolutely incredible. It is high up on a hill in surrounded by vineyards. It is part of an old home where part of it was probably used for wine production. There are about 4 units. The building is probably 200 years old, so expect rustic charm. Its very interesting and intimate.

The following is not meant to be harsh ..just to advise. I contacted the person I rented it from by phone as they were not there at our agreed time via email. About 20 minutes later an employee came to let us in. He was friendly, but his English was very limited. I guess we expected a little bit more as to being shown around a little bit and having things explained. There is no guide/recommendation to local restaurants in the room or phone numbers for Taxi or police or ambulance for an emergency. There is no staff on the premises at night so you’re on your own. But I guess that adds to the remoteness/intrigue. Don’t let this scare you off, just passing info along.

My expectations for this place were high but - wow!!! - even high expectations were exceeded. The view is magnificent and the place is very calm, private and AUTHENTIC! We were invited to participate in this year’s harvest and had a wonderful time learning about wine production in the Quinta. The wine tasting is a must (great wines and, above all, wonderful staff)! We genuinely could not fault this place. The people, the wines, the breakfast, the views, the history - everything is authentic and - as we say in Portuguese - feito com coração (made with heart). Our personal tips: If you can, we would recommend asking for breakfast outside (it’s amazing!! - picture attached). We didn’t get a room with the incredible views, but still managed to enjoy them from the living room and by stepping outside.

The access to the property can be tough at first, but you’ll quickly get used to it and - to be 100% honest - it’s much better than many other routes in the region.

Traditional Quinta style accommodation. The room was so lovely and felt like what I imagined of the Douro area. The breakfast was lovely and appreciated. The staff very friendly, always smiling and accommodating. The owner also was engaging and full of great information about the property’s history as well as the area which was very enjoyable and appreciated.

This is nice but not too fancy.... Quiet. The staff are wonderful. Don't miss the chance to do a tasting with Sr. Joaquim.... Amazing! Also, it's beautiful there.

Be prepared for a steep and winding road up to the main building.

Breakfasts were pretty good, and the hosts were accommodating of dietary restrictions. The setting was beautiful, and we did the wine tasting offered by the facility--and the wines were great! (Much better than at some of the more polished, touristy wineries that we also visited).

Charming Quinta, beautiful grounds and view. Just the right mix of comfort and character. Warm hosts and exceptional wine tasting.

Beautiful 19th century style quinta. The rooms were very clean and suitably decorated. The double bed was relatively small but comfortable. The breakfast was ok.

For the price we would have expected a bit more overall.

I can’t stay because full bed are to small for a couple and there was no internet and nobody to help us with issues . We found other place around

The Quinta do Valdelágea was lovely. It had my essential requirements: a good shower with plenty of hot water and comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious and especially nice the last day when we could eat outside. Anabel was most helpful. This was probably our favorite place in our entire Portugal stay.
