A fantastic country hotel. The staff and the owner John were very helpful and provided excellent assistance.

There was nothing that we didn’t like about the Chequers Hotel.

The room was gorgeous and super spacious for two adults and an adult with coffee machine provided ans a lovely bathroom.

Breakfast was a very long wait as there was only one person cooking but was very yummy!

Everything was perfect, the host, the meals, everything. Thank you, Antony and Jean.

Room could have been better furnished, nowhere suitable for suitcases to be placed. Bathroom a little shabby ( without the chic) - and washbasin too small.

Lovely, typical country hotel/B&B, complete with creaky floorboards and classic English charm. Friendly owners/staff, excellent breakfast.

The hotel was tricky to find, even with an accurate satnav. Arriving after dark, there is no outside lighting or lit-up signage anywhere, so even when crawling along, we missed it a couple of times. I had the impression online that the hotel had a guests' bar, so being unable to pull up a stool for a nightcap was a small disappointment. Not the hotel's fault, of course, but the closure of the A29 right on its doorstep caused us some navigation issues, so be aware of this if staying here.

Excellent breakfast. Good parking. Room upgraded as we were the last to check in. Very comfortable bed. Hosts very friendly.

Difficult to get to. Road closed....not hotel's fault but it would have been good to have been informed. Very expensive bar bill.

Great breakfast

This hotel is managed by the owners and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Our room was large and included all we needed, including somewhere comfortable to sit in the evening. You could ,of course sit in the lounge with it’s cosy fire. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.

Was initially disappointed that the restaurant is not presently open, but with the disruption of the last two years fully understand the reasons why. However, this did not detract from our stay as the hosts recommended a variety of good alternative venues.

Breakfast was lovely, traditional with plenty of choice and the food was hot when it arrived.

Lovely old hotel with quirky rooms - so much better than the corporate uniformity. Hosts also lovely - very chatty and helpful. Inclusive breakfast was excellent
