While the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was outfitted great, the house generally is tired and needs some attention.

Secluded and private but not very well- maintained. The deck is in pretty bad shape and needs new gates. The inside was very functional and pretty clean. Good water pressure. Bottled water provided. Nice couches.

Everything worked and was nice, only “issue” was minor cosmetic things around the property like chipped paint but it had no effect on the quality of the stay

We arrived to the property and found the entry instructions easy to follow. Upon arrival we found large amounts of garbage and glass strewn across the driveway and side yard.
Upon entering the property we noticed food splashed across the dishwasher and cabinets. Many cabinets and/or pieces of trim were held in place with tape. Some interior doors to bathrooms/bedrooms do not close.
Safety concerns included double patio doors secured by 2x4s only, loose patio planks that popped up from the deck as you walked across it (tripping hazard), glass across the driveway (pets), and one of our dogs caught a mouse IN THE HOUSE the last night we were there. Not cool!
Be very careful as you enter the property through the garage, the door step is about to break off.
Overall the interior is worn and needed a deep clean. Garbage from prior guests was found under the beds upstairs, and the yard is very overgrown. The pictures are deceptive.
We called the contact who was the property owner. He seemed surprised by our reports but in reading reviews, these issues have been mentioned in the past. He was willing to come up to the place but this would have meant our giving up time from our plans.

Spacious, comfortable beds, and well stocked. House could use a little tlc. Light switches are confusing even with the labels. We enjoyed our stay.

First, we want Evolve to know that we think this property is a nice piece of property. Whomever initially built it had good instincts. We can see that it could be a an attractive beautiful place. But here is the thing:
1) When we first arrived we were only told to use the keyless code - which Evolve provided. But there was no instruction on how to use the code. When we tried to open the front door it was not opening. Then we eventually tried to enter the code and then push the lock button. It still did not work. We eventually walked around the house and found another door that goes to the garage. The code worked here but we still did not know how the code lock system worked. There were no instructions.
We called our contact and left a message but he did not answer and his mailbox was full. He eventually retuned our call.
We are still unsure about the locking process. It appears the garage door access code lock is not working and we left the house today for 4 hours and had to leave the garage door unlocked.
2) There were not adequate instruction on how to use the disk system for the TV but my son finally figured it out. Someone hd switch the cables on the back of the tv.
3) When we arrived, there were approximately 60 cigarettes butts in a kitchen bowl the table on the front porch.
4) The outside part of the property is not maintained at all. There is junk here and there including a broken dustpan, pop cans and other stuff.

I stayed here with a group of coworkers for a work conference. It was a relatively cheap stay for two nights at 8 people! The beds were comfy & the house fit all of us great. We didn’t spend much time inside other than during the evening & to sleep. Our biggest complaint is the cleanliness! There was dog hair everywhere & the carpet looked like no one even bothered to vaccuum. The bathrooms had a lot of hair on the ground & the the living room especially had many leaves on the carpet. Thankfully the beds felt clean and the sheets looked fine. Overall it was a good place for our group & the scenery was beautiful, but just a little gross inside.

The previous reviews on this property, which I had hoped had been addressed, were pretty accurate. It’s in a lovely setting and convenient to local shopping and entertainment, and the property contact person was very helpful. There are ample dishes, cookware , cleaning products, bath towels and bedding. But the featured picture and overall description of this property are very outdated. I’m sure when it was built it was everything they said it was. Unfortunately now it has fallen into disrepair and needs much attention. I think the owner should spend a weekend there to discover all the things that need attention, from the condition of the deck and the need for paint on the home’s exterior to the plumbing in the kitchen, the non- functioning garbage disposal and sink hose, the loose toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom the lack of good lighting in the living room ,and the general cleanliness of the unit. Also we were never able to connect to the internet. There were two different sets of directions but neither worked. Also the directions for unlocking the coded lock on the doors should be more detailed. It was more complicated than we expected. Directions for using the oven would be helpful as well.
It really is a shame because the property has a lot of promise.

Okay, I’ll try to break this into pros and cons.
Pros: location, easy communication with manager, clean kitchen/bathrooms, beautiful area.
Cons: There are previous negative reviews from a year ago that prompted responses from the owner saying they are doing a remodel, including fixing the screen doors and redoing the deck. The promised work HAS NOT been done. Additionally, the place is very dusty outside of the kitchens/bathrooms.

Sloppy paint job, poor tiling and floor installation, exposed drywall, screens that don’t slide, poor quality workmanship throughout. List goes on.

My spouse and I have made a trip up to Door County almost annually since 2001. We’ve never had a bad rental property, EVER. This year we went to Door County with our neighbors for an extended weekend - their first time to Door County. The house was just…I don’t even know where to start, it was dirty…crumbs on the kitchen floor, the stove was filthy, and dirty dishrags were left in the sink. It smelled clean, but then I noticed several air fresheners throughout the house. I’m fairly certain the flooring is rotten beneath the carpeting bevy it doesn’t feel secure and you feel yourself sinking into holes in both the primary and upstairs bedroom. We couldn’t enjoy the deck for fear of further breaking the already broken slider in the main room. We couldn’t use the other slider for fresh air due to there being a golf ball sized hole in the screen door. Neither the home or the property appear as in the pictures on VRBO. The house has SO MUCH POTENTIAL, but whomever the handyman or caretaker is could benefit from either watching some YouTube videos or hiring a good contractor to repair the house. Doors didn’t fit the door frames, decking screws were used for the baseboards, decking screws held up the fan in the bathroom, baseboards were used as as crown molding around the ceiling. Outside garbage cans were so full, we could barely fit the garage we had accumulated from our short time there. On a positive note, the air conditioning wasn’t working upon our arrival. I called the property contact and he responded immediately. The issue was promptly resolved. Mind you, we didn’t go to Door County to sit inside all weekend, this was simply a place to sleep, but it wasn’t comfortable and it ABSOLUTELY wasn’t worth the money we had to pay for a few short days. I feel like the joke was on us. It’s too bad I didn’t see the other reviews that were on VRBO until after I had booked this home.

Great location!
This cabin was perfect for my wife and I and our dog. We booked it somewhat last minute and picked it because it allows pets. About 5 minutes from town and the water. Fire pit out back was nice. There was some wood on-site which was great, but there is wood for sale on just about every road you go on if you need more. You aren't too close to another house either. Would recommend.

We rarely watch TV but we loved watching movies on the big screen TV, using the DVD player, and sitting on the sectional sofa. The house could use a little sprucing up in spots, but overall very comfortable. I would not count on having someone sleep in the loft if you're nearing retirement age like we are.

There were a few issues we encountered the first day including a gas smell coming from the outside hose which we emailed about but never got a response. The rest of our stay was nice and the location was great for being away from the busy town but close enough that we could get anywhere without a lot of drive time. Once we were home, I emailed the contact again with issues we had and they had a quick response and were already looking into the gas leak. Aside from the few issues we had, the house was ready for guests and was a good place to get away to!

The deck is very unsafe to walk on & the grass needs to be cut, at least a path to the firepit.
This is not the first time that we have rented homes & we never experienced anything like this before.
The owners, Home away from home (Envolve, VRSBO) Should be ashamed of themselves to allow a home in such bad condition to be listed for vacation rentals!
Especially with COVID-19 this is really unacceptable.

While the location was great, and the size of the home perfect, the stains on carpet and furniture were a bit off-setting. Some of the stains were from food, and there were "chunks" left behind on couch, etc. Also, who puts carpet in bathroom? Smells moldy and musty in master bath because of this. Was unable to use what would have been a great deck because of the state of disrepair, and grounds (2.5 Acres advertised) were unwalkable, as it was covered with overgrown weeds. I guess the worst was the blood stain on master bedroom matress pad when we went to put on sheets...I mean, I understand if you couldn't get the stain out (as company said), but then leave off, or buy a new one. For the amount of money spend, would have stayed at a resort instead. Place needs A LOT of TLC.

Okay stay
While the location was great, and the size of the home perfect, the stains on carpet and furniture were a bit off-setting. Some of the stains were from food, and there were "chunks" left behind on couch, etc. Also, who puts carpet in bathroom? Smells moldy and musty in master bath because of this. Was unable to use what would have been a great deck because of the state of disrepair, and grounds (2.5 Acres advertised) were unwalkable, as it was covered with overgrown weeds. I guess the worst was the blood stain on master bedroom matress pad when we went to put on sheets...I mean, I understand if you couldn't get the stain out (as company said), but then leave off, or buy a new one. For the amount of money spend, would have stayed at a resort instead. Place needs A LOT of TLC.
