Where do I start. When checking in we were told that we had to pay a 70 euro cash non refundable fee. We were first told that it was a "key fee", later we were told that it was a cleaning fee and also "taxes". We were told that because our grasp of the French language is not great, it was impossible to explain the fee to us. This fee was NOT listed in the posting. We pushed back for about a half an hour, but it was 19:00 and we had hungry kids so we paid the fee to get the keys. We later realized that the owner messaged us thru booking.com AFTER the cancellation date (6 days before our trip) stating that there was a fee. The thing we like about booking.com is that owners are not supposed to add hidden fees and we feel confident that the price listed is the amount we'll be responsible for. This was not the case for this listing. The second day at the apartment we ran out of hot water. It's December in the alps and we had been skiing all day. Hot water was pretty important. We then see the circuit board and flip some switches. The next morning we had hot water, but by the afternoon, no hot water again. We think we were supposed to flip the switches multiple times a day to insure that we had hot water. At check out, we were told that we had to be at the apartment at 10am and someone would come by to get the keys and do an inspection. We had a LONG drive ahead of us and would have rather left earlier. We had the car packed and kids and dog in the car at 10am. We were going to do the inspection and then hit the road. Ten o'clock came and went. At 10:30 we called and were told "I told you I'd be there at 10am!" No apology, just frustration that we were calling them. The only good thing I can discuss about this property is that the location is good. It's a short walk to the bottom of Grand Mastif ski resort and there are several restaurants close by.
