Excellent location sunny deck and lounge looking over Back Lake.

This was the most well-equipped rental holiday house we have stayed in. We loved the comfortable beds, the well-equipped kitchen, the quality appliances and watching Netflix on the TV. But most of all we loved the idyllic, picturesque setting. We loved sitting on the deck and seeing the light reflect off of the water or sitting on the private jetty and watching the sun rise over the lake. We loved the peace and quiet and watching the birds come and eat. Also short walk to beach and town..

We loved our stay. The huge deck overlooking the estuary with bush all around was bliss. We saw the kangaroos swimming across from one side to the other and at many other times opposite the house or bounding past. At night we could hear the surf. It was so peaceful. As others have mentioned, the kitchen is very well equipped. Fantastic to be able to walk from the house to the Mundooi walk. It was just the break we needed. Thanks. Hopefully we'll be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. Lakefront retreat is a quality older property with quality furnishings. The beds were really comfortable and warm. Everything is supplied to make your stay comfortable. The canoe got my 12-year-old grandson off his computer games and out on the lake. The winter sun streams through the windows and it was warm enough to enjoy the sun and views out on the deck. What I really liked was sitting on the sofa in the warm lounge and watching the sun rise over the lake.

This house had everything that we wanted and needed (including electric beaters!). The house was clean and the kitchen well stocked with plenty of plates/cooking equipment/condiments. The beds were comfortable and warm with electric blankets. The deck was glorious all throughout the day with lots of birds in the surrounding trees. Highly recommend this house and the hosts were very helpful.

Thankyou after a very interesting and taxing year, this is just the retreat we required as a small family unit. I love nature and this position so central to town yet so private was truly fabulous, i have raved to my friends and will definitely return. We had such a wonderful stay at this property, it's so lovely that we actually spent a lot of time there, rather than going out. Gorgeous big deck and spectacular birds to feed, a lake and canoe, what more do you need? We were all very happy during our stay, and the hosts were readily available if we had any queries. Absolutely beautiful scenery . It is a joy to sit on the balcony and feed the native birds and listen to wildlife. The home itself is very welcoming and fully equipped with most things you are likely to need during your stay . This is definitely one of the best properties we have ever stayed at . The hosts communication is always prompt and a pleasure to deal with . 10/10 . Can’t wait to come back !

A lovely home overlooking the water with a large deck to enjoy the scenery and bird life. Inside were 3 comfortable bedrooms with a cosy lounge room. The kitchen and bathroom were both well stocked with all the necessities and many extra touches in the pantry and bathroom cupboards. Thank you so much to the hosts for a very enjoyable stay.

The Lakehouse
There is so much to say about the Lakehouse it's difficult to find a starting point. Firstly, the view...its serene and picture postcard. Sitting on the wharf watching the sun set with our little dogs exploring the shoreline...the kids waiting patiently to spot a member of the local kangaroo mob crossing the lake was wonderful. The house is well equipped and the kitchen is so easy to prep meals in with everything you need to dine in or lay out a take away. The deck was perfect for breakfast and any time of the day we stopped for a cup of tea or a G&T. The Lakehouse was peaceful and offered us a well earned break from the city. Merimbula is stunning...we cannot wait to come back.

Great property
My family of 5 plus pooch had an amazing time at this property. The location was ideal being only a short drive or walk to shops or the lake for fishing. Or you can just pop down to the private jetty and throw in a line- we caught (and released) lots of fish and enjoyed the canoe rides. The property was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We had many enjoyable times on the back deck enjoying the view, the birds and wildlife. I highly recommend this place and hope to come back again.

Merimbula Magic!
This was our first time to this area of NSW and we could not have picked a better spot and a better place to stay. This property was exactly what we wanted! It is centrally located, has water views, good for our small dog, clean and quiet - and was within our budget.
The teenagers could walk into town and get access to activities, adults could relax on the balcony or in the shaded area by the river in front of the property, and the dog could play on the grass. There is also an excellent park at the end of the street and it is just a short walk is the fabulous Bar Beach Cafe.
We look forward to booking this property again.

We fell in love ….
Location couldn’t be better … views were outstanding … kitchen was great and used every day … feeding the birds everyday and hand feeding was incredible… puppies had a great time … this was an all round wonderful stay and we were really sad to be leaving after a week of such a relaxing holiday. I’ll give the tide 1 star - we were so keen to try the canoe but Mother Nature and the tides didn’t allow us to give it a go. Great excuse to come back again!! Thank you

Most reviews on this property mentioned the wonderful deck setting. Having recently spend 5 nights at Lakefront Retreat, the reviews were 100% true. What we didn't expect was the attention to every detail this property offers to its guests. The kitchen and cooking equipment left nothing to be desired.
Susan our host had supplied everything you can imagine to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.
Simply speaking Lakefront Retreat is the best equipped property we have experienced with Stayz, and the ambience and views are a bonus on top!

Best of Both Worlds
From the moment we saw this house it was love at first sight. A cosy mid-century style home; comfortably and sensitively decorated with a nod to its bygone era. The kitchen was well equiped and a joy to cook in - e.g. sharp knives, solid breadboards, sensibly arranged. The sleeping arrangements (3 bedrooms/3 queen beds) a bonus for our group of adults (no forced short straws for single/bunk beds). The house was immaculate with nice touches throughout (fresh flowers, reading lamps next to beds etc) and provided internet (but on a limited data plan). This property was the perfect location for our group (a house with water views and a bush aspect, yet close to the shopping precinct), providing an opportunity to shelve the car and explore what Merimbula has to offer on foot.

This was our third visit and I am sure that we will be back. Only a short walk to Beach Street, the cafes and shops. If you enjoy watching birds and wildlife this is the place for you.

Lovely relaxing little house overlooking a beautiful side lake. Everything you could need in the house. Great location as easy to walk to town and great walks on boardwalks. Short drive to a fantastic walking beach.

Booked this place for 1 week, amazing location at the back lagoon. Quiet! Which is what we were looking for. Close enough to walk to shops with ease. But what stood out the most. The back decking over looking the lagoon. Wow! If you want an out door space to enjoy the beautiful weather. This place is it.
Internally the house had all the amenities that one could need on holiday.
The hosts were very easy to deal with and accommodating.
Will definitely be back!

Beautiful quiet serene spot only a short walk merimbula lake and town
We loved our stay at Lakeview and Sue was a terrific host. The house is immaculate and extremely well kitted out with lots of attention paid to the finer details. It was very comfortable and homely and we wer in no hurry to leave. The location is so quiet and peaceful situated on the back lake (direct access), yet it is only a short 5minute walk to Merimbula lake/Spencer park which is terrific for kids or a lovely 10-15min lakefront walk to town. Would love to come back again sometime soon. Thanks Sue and Steve!
