Could have better bar area however it’s only if I am really picky .

The staff are wonderful, attentive and would go out of their way to assist in any matter. The hotel is perfect for families as it was our first hotel in a very long trip to Thailand the purpose was to re-adjust easily before further continuing the trip- The hotel proved to be the one where the kids had the greatest time.

We had two events for which we had to switch rooms twice due to technical issues that can happen to any hotel so that was a bit uncomfortable- however, and this is critical- due to the staff being amazing no matter the time and issue - the situations were dealt with as best as possible in the most professional and warmest manner!

It's a little bit run down

Very cosy and relaxing. Meem, was extremely helpful is setting up specific attractions for our purpose mainly playing golf in Thailand and she was supper helpful and accommodating finding us the best spots and making the arrangements for us. A supper start to go above and beyond her work helping us out. The breakfast was very organized with plenty options. The hotel is extremely suitable for family with children with a lot of activities for them. Good private beach amazing view in the morning. The hotel is 30 min by taxi for the main city

The location was excellent. The pool and slide was great. Breakfast was 5 star.

The hotel is comfortably located on the beach, giving great access to beach restaurants and beutiful sunsets. The hotel pools are great! The kids really enjoyed the slide even though it is old.

The hotel had a few rules that seemed unecessarily strict. 1. There's no smoking in rooms' balconies (understood as it's a family hotel) and you're being 'threatened' with substantial fines if any evidance of smoking is found in your room. But then there are a few smoking areas, two of them right outside the lobby where kids walk by all the time. Would have been nice if the took a stance, either smoking friendly or not... 2. There's a 800 baht fine for losing the pool towel cards. These cards are just a piece of plastic, why should guests be fined if they happen to lose them? The hotel should find a better system for that, we spent time in a few hotels in Phuket, none of them had these strict rules. As for the rooms, we booked the family suite, it was great having two rooms, but other than that the room, its amenities and its entertainment systems (TVs) were pretty old. Examples are: leaking shower screen in the main bath, very old shower screen and shower in the kids room, one TV wasn't working at all and the other only had TV antena connection TVs where not even 'smart TVs'. For the relatively premium price we expected more from the room. Some of the outside equipment (table tennis, teen room) was also very dated, to the level we preferred to not use it. As for hotel staff, the pool staf did its best to entertain pool goers, but they seemed tired and lacked the energy we saw from staff in other hotels. Lastly, we where underwhelmed by breakfast. After visiting a few hotels in Phuket where we paid 30-40% less, we can say that breakfast quality was the lowest at Sunwing Bangtao. Variety was ok, but quality was pretty low.

The location is great. Direct access to the beach. Breakfast is perfect, lots of fruit and variety of food. The service is professional and the staff are nice. Pools are everywhere and the rooms are clean.

The pool with water slide was a huge hit with the kids. Breakfast was excellent, with an enormous selection. The ability to sit at the restaurant or on the sun lounges and look out over the ocean was fabulous. Pool bar staff made amazing cocktails.

A very pleasant and short holidays in this resort. Nice, clean, family friendly. A paradise for the kids. A very good remark: For anyone with food allergy or intolerance here you are in the perfect place. Our daughter has a celiacs disease (can’t eat any gluten) but chef cook Giannis made us feel home. He is very competent and ready to adapt any kind of food (thai and not) to your own needs. Not easy to find such a place in Thailand!

Hotel is on the beach. Several pool areas and the restaurant has a variety of Eastern and Western food. Breakfast buffet was good. Housekeeping cleaned the rooms in a timely manner. There is a shop across the road from the resort.

The beach area is quiet- not a lot to do around the area.

We actually booked Sunwing Bang Tao at the last minute based on great reviews and ratings. The resort is amazing for families and offers a lot of activities. It has multiple pools to choose from and is just a few steps from the beach, being a beachfront property. The resort facilities are very well-maintained and so is its beautiful landscaping. Staff are very helpful and friendly, and we have also witnessed its management and supervisors flexibly and actively checked in the resort's operations in person. Sunwing is a must if you are looking to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle, whilst spending quality time with the family. It is also just walking distance from restaurants, a food mart and retail shops. Highly recommend Sunwing...

Nothing really as any issue is compensated for by the smallest details that have been well thought out from resort build to its post-opening. From the many clothing hooks installed on almost every wall of our room, the large trash bin, microwave, and complete utensils provided in our kitchenette... From the clothes rack to the rice added as stopper to the salt and pepper shakers and the resort's lush greenery, we cannot really complain.

Facilities were great, comfortable, clean bed. Very child friendly. Breakfast had a good range available. Lovely beach location.

Reception not 100% helpful when trying to book a taxi early morning (3am).

The rooms are big and spacious. We enjoyed having our breakfast on the balcony. There is a nice table with chairs and a view to the pool and the beach. There is a nice big sofa, and kitchenette with a fridge and microwave oven. The hotel is located right on the beach, 2 minutes walk from Catch beach club. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They gave us information about night markets nearby and other places of interest. They also assisted us to get taxis at reasonable rates. The hotel has 4 swimming pools, which are quite big and didn't feel crowded. There is a supermarket across the road, money exchange, and several restaurants. There is a smart TV in the room and you can use your own Netflix profile.

They need to train their cleaning staff better, and also motivate them to learn English as it was difficult to communicate with some of them. Having said that, they were very polite and helpful. They need to have iron and ironing boards which can be used by the guests in their rooms upon request, instead of asking the guests to use the only iron in bdg.5

We booked a family suite and it was heaven - lots of space, excellent aircon and all extremely comfortable (with fridge, cutlery and crockery, wardrobe etc). The reception and restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful whenever we needed them. The chef at Piak's made a special meal for me one evening as I couldn't eat a number of ingredients - it was delicious and also so unexpected. The massages just off the beach - incredible! We really enjoyed our stay (definitely go into Old Phuket via taxi one day for a change).

If anything, the pool sometimes smelled of bleach and we had underwear discolour (under the guys' costumes). But with so many children in the pool... :) Also (not a Sunwing issue but rather a Phuket issue): plastic and rubbish on the beach! It's awful and depressing. It changes in location up and down the length of the whole beach depending on the current (I assume) but we couldn't swim in the sea on the first day as we were amongst pieces of plastic. It was better on other days. I hope everyone can pick up five pieces per day just to make a start!
