It is quaint. A little boutique hotel with character.
My room (No. 4 Deluxe room) was located on the upper floors, which means you have to go up two very narrow staircases. Plus the floors are uneven. Staff at breakfast talked too loudly and were badmouthing a colleague or friend. Very off putting.

Rooms were old and poorly maintained. No A/c, even floors weren't level. Size was small.

Il personale è stato super accogliente e amichevole. Siamo arrivati prima dell'orario del check-in e abbiamo potuto lasciarli le valigie che abbiamo poi ritrovato comodamente in camera. La camera era pulita ed estetica, con un bel bagno e una doccia spaziosa. Da non sottovalutare le tende belle pesanti in camera per non fare passare luce al mattino.
In camera abbiamo trovato anche un ottimo ventilatore e macchinetta per caffè/tè.
La colazione era di ottima qualità, offerta sia salata che dolce. Super consigliata la "porterhouse breakfast", ovvero la loro versione della tipica full English breakfast.

Majoriteten av personalen var otroligt trevliga! Väldigt mysigt hotell med fina rum men restaurangen gjorde detta hotell! Riktigt bra frukost som ingick och maten var superb. Man kände sig riktigt välkommen och kommer gärna tillbaka. Bra läge nära tågstationen. En liten promenad från centrum.
Väldigt lyhört tyvärr.

朝食の開始時間が9時からだった点。もう少し早ければ尚良いかと。それ以外は見当たりません。

Beautiful room, super comfy bed, friendly staff, quiet at night and delicious breakfast. Great location just on the edge of town and handy for the park and ride. Would definately recommend to others and stay again.

It's really comfortable and clean, this was our 2nd time stopping and will stay again. The restaurant downstairs is great if you like steak and as its a little way out of the centre it's really quiet at night
This guest house is great but as an old building my only complaint is that the windows rattle a lot which can be quiet disturbing at night

The room was enough functional and satisfactory.
The breakfast in it's steakhouse restaurant was excellent.
We've also enjoyed the aged cote de boeuf for dinner which was marvelous.
We had difficulty in finding a good parking lot near the hotel.

The room was lovely - large, well equipped and very nice decor, with a good-size bathroom. Bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was generous - any option from the brunch menu plus continental. Very close to the railway station and Said Business School. Restaurant downstairs was excellent for an evening meal.
There is no air conditioning at all - not surprising in a building of this age, A very effective fan in the bedroom was most welcome but the room was still very warm, in late June. Also the door at the bottom of the stairs to the rooms is locked at night, and was not yet unlocked when we came down to breakfast, which was disconcerting. I understand the security precaution, but in the event of a fire, we'd had to have walked past the kitchen to the small courtyard out back - also locked off. Just a note for management to consider and perhaps advise guests of emergency exits.

great typical British stay. my room was very cosy and clean, nicely under the roof. Breakfast included in the price, and very tasty (you can pick anything from their breakfast menu)

Very good breakfast with multiple choices from the menu—nice presentation. Bed is extremely comfortable. Room is very clean with efficient and caring housekeeper. Inn is located in a quiet neighborhood very close to train and bus transport, and easy walk to city, restaurants, etc.
Room really could use a comfortable chair, and there are no wall/door hooks for hanging clothes. There’s a nice , upscale restaurant, but we did not use on our chosen night because there were young children running and screaming—surprising that this was allowed.

+ Silent street. No noise or smell from the restaurant.
- Little inconsistent staff behavior. One member was very nice and helpful, the other looked like I am bothering him.
- The breakfast is rather boring.

It was very clean, the staff we exceptionally polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were large and exactly as described on booking.com. The restaurant food was like nothing we’ve experienced before. Best steak Ever!!!!

Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean and roomy. Location convenient enough to walk into town.
There are only ~8 rooms in the hotel and the staff seemed to forget who we were every time we walked in the door. Breakfast was fine, convenient since it's just downstairs but not exceptional. Rooms were pretty hot, glad there was a fan in the room. There should be better parking instructions before check-in.

Lovely place. food was amazing. It was the best steak we had ever had. It was present lovely. The staff where great. Really close to Oxford which was what we wanted. Well worth the money to stay.

Very friendly/helpful staff. Food was superb, bathroom toiletries smelt amazing & shower was great.
Their steaks are out of this world & cooked to perfection! 👌🏽 Worth visiting for the food alone. l even got a tiny fillet steak with the full English breakfast! 🤗
Thin ceilings made it pretty noisy as l heard footsteps overhead constantly thumping about. l disliked the bare wooden flooring that made it feel cold/ less cosy & l felt a sticky patch on floor underfoot which was disconcerting.
l slept really badly because the radiator stayed on full heat all night so l woke up way too hot at 2 & 4am.
There was an awful smell from drains coming up through the plughole in bathroom sink. It's a handsome building, but photos cleverly hide the dismal views of the streets it sits in.
