The spacious room, private beach just steps away, and tranquil atmosphere made the experience absolutely perfect. The breakfast was exceptional. Ideal for those in search of a peaceful beachside stay.

The setting of the rooms was beautiful, one could tell a lot of attention went to the landscaping and giving privacy to all rooms and terraces. It was amazing to have such a beautiful private beach so close to the rooms. Emmanuela and the staff were lovely and so helpful. She helped us find the best way to go back to Palermo which I couldn't find online. The breakfasts were incredible, such good food and in great quantities. There is a beach cafe just nearby for cheap but delicious food, cocktails, ice creams and coffees.

It was a personal choice not to rent a moped or car (Emanuela did offer to find out for us, or even call taxis for us!) but the hotel was ~1h walk to the historic town centre. Absolutely feasible, but most people might prefer to rent some mode of transportation.

The property was spotless. The hosts were amazing - nothing too much trouble. The breakfasts are fabulous. Beds very comfy. Right on the beach. Private loungers were a real bonus. Location great but need wheels to get to the town. Food everywhere was top notch.

We stayed at Tonnara di Sciacca for 3 nights as a base to visit the South-West sites of Sicily. The place is very well located directly on the beach and perfectly kept in every detail. The owners and staff received us personally and made us feel very welcome. The apartments are very clean and comfortable, the breakfast is tasty and generous and served individually in the room, and the garden and beach are lovely. I can highly recommend this place for couples and families, or even alone for taking some time off. You are not far from the town of Sciacca, which has nice fish restaurants and beautiful views, and the wonderful sites of Selinunte, Agrigento, Scala dei Turchi...

One of the best hotels we ever had the pleasure to stay at: -rooms are spacious and super clean -owners and staff are amazing people, always friendly and super helpful -beach is stunningly beautiful, clean and quiet - personal sunbeds are extremely nice to flexibly come and go as you like -outside area is also amazingly beautiful -breakfast is great as well, super tasty regional specialties that vary over the week, for us personally it was also enough to eat lunch as well -private parking is comfortable

Very enjoyable one week stay at Tonnara di Sciacca. The hotel is a collection of self contained apartments that are modern, clean and well equipped including a small kitchen with a fridge and air conditioning. The deluxe studio feature a private patio at both the front and rear so sun worshippers have a place to sit no matter the time of day. The property is also adjacent to a private beach, with sun loungers and parasols allocated to each apartment so no 8am rush to put your towel down to reserve a spot. The hosts were extremely attentive and friendly, providing us with guidance on the best places to visit and assisting us with arranging taxi's or ordering food. Every morning a beautifully prepared breakfast is brought to your apartment full of traditional hand made Sicilian and continental items, the Arancini are delicious and it is a perfect way to start your day. The location is approximately 3km west of Sciacca old town centre and was approximately a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive. The town is small and quaint with multiple photo opportunities particularly down at the harbour and several nice restaurants and historical attractions to visit. There are also numerous small restaurants and supermarkets in the local vicinity which we often used after returning from a day trip. Tonnara di Sciacca is in a good location for further onward travel. We hired a car which was parked in secure off-road private parking accessed via an electronic security gate, with the location well positioned to drive to Selinunte Archaeological Park (30 mins), Palermo (1hr 20 mins) and Agrigento (1hr). Would thoroughly recommend Tonnara di Sciacca for anyone looking for a relaxing break or as a base to further explore the west of Sicily.

Breakfast was rich and delicious, very varied, always with some tasty surprise. The private beach provided privacy on comfortable sun loungers, the beach was beautiful with a gently shelving sea. Excellent relaxation. Garden in the resort is beautiful and well maintained, you can also relax on the rocking chairs. Great care of the staff, their constant presence and willingness to help is a great benefit. Restaurants in Sciacca are excellent, but there are also Michelin-guide recommended restaurants near Sciacca.

This accomodation is amazing. it has everything you need - a beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, a picturesque garden to relax and have a glass of wine and a comfortable appartment. You even get your own beach bag and towel! The staff is really friendly and attentive. Although Sciaccia isn’t really touristy this place is worth a visit. The Scala dei Turchi is really close (40min by car), so you can easely make a day trip out of it.

I’d loved the Tonnara hotel, everything was perfect. The staff was great, beach is 100m from the room, the room is great and cool in the summer, and breakfast is amazing. We had a great stay!

Only downside is related to Sciacca, not Tonnara itself, but Sciacca is not that nice except the downtown, no walking area, not many restaurants, etc.

This place is simply amazing. For me personally it's one of the best accomodations I've ever been. The resort has rather small number of appartments, so it's not crowded and you have a privacy. We got very nice welcome from Mr. Alessandro who helped us and explained all the details including private car parking, room amenities, beach etc. The resort has beatiful garden and each apartment is facing this garden. Our apartment had private sunbeds and seating in front but also on the back side, so we could relax and follow the sun. The great thing is that each apartment also has dedicated sunbeds on the nice sandy beach. The apartment itself is spacious and comfortable, it has a small kitchen where you can cook. The bathroom is superb, the aircond is silent. The breakfast is served daily directly to your room according to your preferrence. The breakfast menu is delicious - special selection of local pastry, fruits, yoghurt and coffee. Big thanks to Mrs. Manuella for bringing it to us every day. We will miss her smile :-) I really do appreciate that all the hotel staff is very helpful, always smiling and speaks fluent English. To summarize - we had a great stay and we wish we could have stayed longer. This resort and the staff is awesome. Definitely recommend.

The fact that we had to leave

Very nice and spacious room with a dining table, big couch and a canopy bed. The apartments are so close to the sea that you can hear the rolling waves at night! We loved these cute cats walking in the garden, sometimes peaking in though the windows. The city center of Sciacca is also unexpectely charming to visit, about 2 km away.

We were there in rainy autumn so there were mosquitoes: a window flyscreen in the bathroom window would have been nice. (there was this electronic plug present but these do not work.)

It was raining the moment we arrived, but Alessandro met us at the parking space to help us with an umbrella and help us with the bags straight away. The room was very comfortable and the gardens are very neat. Altought the weather was not perfect to enjoy the private beach but we still had courage to have a swim at the ocean. Alessandro was incredible nice to us, suggesting and booking one of the best restaurant in Sciacca. We stayed just one night but wished we could stay a week. :)

The public beach was not so clean (not the fault of the hotel of course), maybe because it’s not high season?

All aspects of the staffing were excellent. From helpful restaurant suggestions, to cleanliness of rooms and attendance to beach facilities. Breakfasts were enormous and made to our individual preferences.

We had a fabulous three night stay in this comfortable, cleverly converted old tonnara. Alessandro greeted us warmly and from the moment we arrived ensured our stay was relaxed and we had everything we needed. Our apartment was contemporarily, clean and well appointed with everything I can think we may have needed for our stay including beach towels in a basket. The spacious bedroom was on a mezzanine floor. The bed was huge and comfortable. The AC was efficient. Breakfast was plentiful and delivered to our patio every morning. There was plenty of choice. I’d recommend the pistachio croissant! The beach comprised of white, soft sand and was clean. We had two sun beds and an umbrella appointed to us. Literature about the local area in the apartment was informative. Recommendations for restaurant s were good. We visited the Valley of Temples at Agrigentino from here.

Private "bay" located at the end of beach so it's highly private. Amazing garden around resort with direct access to the beach. Tasteful breakfast served at a apartment terrace. Perfect place to rest for couple of days in very comfortable conditions

Best hotel we stayed in during our holiday on Sicily. Beautifully situated, nice beach, facilities well maintained. Room 100% clean and spacious with nice terrace. Owner was very helpful and friendly, breakfast delivered to your terrace- perfect.

We liked everything, you could maybe add some bigger cups for tea and knifes to the small kitchen and some fruits/cereals for breakfast.

La Tonnaria is a fabulous place, a rare gem. It is modern, tasteful and very comfortable. Charming and warm young hostess. Private sandy beach with lounge chairs. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied. We had a studio with the bedroom on the mezzanine. Very quiet and luminous. Great bathroom. It is more of a hotel than an apt. as the kitchenette is a bit minimalist but you can do with the nearby supermarket (Lidl), a good chicken take-out and a pizzeria about 5 minutes drive away. Ideally located between Agrigente and Selinunte. Very good restaurant in Porto di Menfi – Da Vittorio. Do not miss inland the ghost village of Poggioreale and the bizarre land art at Gibellina Vecchia, a whole village covered with 4 feet of concrete preserving the pattern of the streets, strange and unique. We highly recommend la Tonnaria a very good deal for the price we paid. We hope to return.
