The highlight of this visit was the warm welcome and the very high quality family restaurant. Dinner was wonderful. The charming setting and menu highlighting Cretan products was excellent. The family proprietors were attentive and proud of their offering, justifiably so. Breakfast was also superb! A real treat, served with love and attention. The eggs were delicious, the coffee and orange juice was perfect and the breads and pastries just lovely.

The bed was too hard for us, but would suit those who like a firm mattress. There is nowhere in the bathroom to put your spongebag and makeup.

The room wasn't ready on arrival due to an issue with the previous guests, but they offered us drinks in they gorgeous flower-covered outdoor restaurant while we waited. It was a wonderful welcome, and not a problem for us to wait a short time in a lovely place. The room itself was clean and functional. We especially enjoyed the patio with the view of the sea. The provided breakfast was massive and delicious, we ended up eating it for breakfast and lunch every day!

The bathroom was a little small and it was impossible to shower without getting the floor soaking wet, so that was difficult with children. It would have been hard to cook in the kitchen the way it was arranged. Luckily we never had to cook anything, as they supplied plenty of already prepared breakfast foods each day

The hotel is located in a small village and walking distance to many shops, tavernas and bars. The hotel has its own parking area. It was good to have some coffee and sugar sachets and a kettle in the room.

First and foremost we must make it point that the hotel is part of a good taverna. Actually it’s on top of the taverna which at night it is a bit noisy with all children screaming and people talking. To go in the room, you have to pass from right next to people eating. Breakfast was way beyond mediocre. It was prepared the day before and placed into the room fridge for us to eat the next day. Anything we didn’t like obviously we didn’t eat but it stayed in the fridge for us for the next day until we decided to throw it away. The hard boiled egg was half cooked. 😩 The meats and cheese were hard and obviously everything cold. Fresh fruit was nice. We found the room not so clean. Infact we also had to ask for new towels as the cleaning person just does the bed and that’s it. The matress is about 30 years old as it has all the springs coming out and was very uncomfortable. Not a looking forward bed to go after a day running around. There was noone to be seen in this hotel before 10:30am for sure as when we were leaving in the mornings to explore, noone was there. Nobody has ever came to ask if we needed anything or if everything was ok. We never saw the person who greeted us on our arrival ever again. Who we taught he was the owner.

Manolis, and his whole family and stuff are extremely kind and friendly. They welcomed us warmly in the night with sweets and raki and gave as present raki as we left. They grilled a fish that I caught extra for me. The apartment is perfect, clean and well thought. Panormo is a really nice small village with more traditional atmosphere.

The only problem is that the room and terrace are a bit loud. Our room was next to the restaurant (I think it is the only one like this). And on the terrace there is that AC-machine that is buzzing. Never the less we enjoyed our time here.

We like the hospitality and the good location in a quiet village. We went for the birthday of our grand Mother and they welcome us with cretan wine, frutes and nice raki. There is good restaurant and many places to see around Manolis was really helpful and tell us about cretan story, really interesting. We will remember this stay and the sympatical host. Efkaristo!
