Beautiful and spacious room, it was great having a full kitchen and large bathroom. The view was amazing and my kids absolutely loved the pool! Very relaxing place.

The main challenge was NO A/C! We would keep our windows open during the day but at night there were jurassic sized bugs that would come in so we had to close the windows and were quite hot. No fans available either. My kids biggest complaint was no netflix/streaming, just german TV. Also no microwave as was listed.

Great attention to detail. Made special effort for family birthday- great breakfast! Amazing massage at the spa. Great view of Frankfurt skyline. Local produce and sparkling wine - superb dinner.

Shower doesn’t get warm until after 5 minutes of running the water. Bathrobe old & worn. Breakfast - no value for money.

Excellent view over Frankfurt skyline, the hotel is in a nice historical building, the Ascara SPA offers very nice wellness packages.

The staff is unfriendly and unprofessional; the room was improperly cleaned and the kitchenette although available didn’t had any crockery etc. - we had to ask for that as we traveled with our children and the staff looked very surprised; very poor breakfast- definitely not suited for a 5 star hotel; the jacuzzi was very small and during the first days the whirlpool didn’t work; the saunas were outdated and not properly cleaned.

Never thought that Frankfurt (being a commercial centre and having stayed in countless hotels in the city centre) could offer such a great destination hotel with majestic buildings, beautifully-landscaped gardens, mountain top views, very spacious suites, awesome bar and restaurant and a feeling of being completely zen.. I am surprised as to the lower score on this property but this will become a go-to property for our family.

wonderful staff catering to our wishes, beyond stellar breakfast selection and extraordinary chef and menu in the Landgut restaurant. highly recommended for people needing calm and serenity.

the lounge/ bar was closed! so there was no-where to sit, enjoy a drink and read! the carpets in the public areas need a steam clean!

The view over Frankfurt skyline is amazing, if you get a room with view.

On the 23rd of July we booked a classical room at hotel Falkenstein Grand part of the Marriot chain. The room that we were offered at our arrival in residence number one smelled musty and old. They are marketed as a classical room but the smell is horrible to have a pleasant stay. 

Subsequently, the staff showed us two other rooms in the same building which also smelled similar. After almost two hours back and forth talking to the staff we eventually got offer a renovated room for an additional charge of 120 Euro. We ended up taking this as the alternative would have been to go to another hotel which we were too tired to do. Part of the explanation from the staff is that the classical rooms “needed to be renovated”. It’s not what you expect from a 5* hotel. 

Furthermore, the breakfast is under par compared with other 5* hotels. The buffet lacked plates, glasses for the juice, bread, the staff was stressed and couldn’t keep up with demand. The cheese assortment is not what one can expect from a 5*. One staff dealt with pancakes with her bare hands. 

Upon our arrival, my wife ordered a drink on the outside terras and was told she couldn’t order small bites to go with her drink as the “snack”menu was only available as of 2.30 pm. 

During dinner, the coffee that was ordered never came but it was charged twice. One staff member couldn’t balance the plate with food he held which fell apart on the terras right in front of us. 

There was broken glass on the stairways on the left side of the terras which was not taken care of probably from the previous evening

. 

Overall the hotel experience is not up to the standards expected and tainted our stay as we ended up talking more about the hotel and its standards than enjoying our stay.
