Great location, great staff and well appointed rooms.

my room smelled a bit foisty as though it hadn’t been used for a while. The bar was shut when we got back at 9 pm !

Large spacious room. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good.

The breakfast was excellent, cooked beautifully and presented. The full English breakfast was served by efficient and personable staff. Fruit juices and cereals were available for self service. Our room was huge with a four poster bed and a very large en-suite (with bath). There was a sofa and TV and hot drink making facilities provided with biscuits too. There is no parking with the hotel but there is, however, some on street parking.

Something which was totally unavoidable due to the historic nature of the building were the very narrow, twisting stairs to our room on the first floor, which I found difficult to negotiate due to my have limited mobility and, of course, there is no lift in a hotel of this age. Otherwise, this would not be detrimental.

Excellent location, super friendly staff, dog friendly, tasty meal, stunning and huge room.

£10 per night dog charge but nothing to justify this. a dog bowl or blanket in the room might have been a good touch.

large room with a bath, wasnt short of anything. nice staff, and breakfast was very good, perfect poached eggs, and the chef made sure we had everything and more. bar areas, one quiet and dogs allowed.

Rooms a little tired, tap dripped a little, and no hook on the back of the door to hang clothes on. but never spoilt stay. and value for money.

Beautiful cosy room

We didn't actually get to breakfast as the last sitting was 9am. We thought this was a bit early especially with being over the new year period.

Slightly tired

Situated on the main road it was easy to find. Parking on the street in the evening is easy. The room was well stocked and clean. Breakfast was good, served hot with plentiful drinks. Good shower, if not a little small but not much you can do about that given the space it is in.

on check in I was basically asked for to pay, given a key, chose a breakfast time then shown the stairs to my room. No welcoming chit chat. Would have been nice to know there was music on in the evening as I would have joined in. The bed base bows in the middle so not particularly comfy. Breakfast was good but the lady serving was quite abrupt. Nobody around to check out with.
