Reasonable price, staff polite and helpful. Bed comfortable. Pool, clean, and warm. Suited us as attending nearby party. Did not eat here . Building very tired, making it seem dirty in places, but it was cleaned well, just needs some investment in Building and decor . Pay £4 for swim. Note you have to pay late checkout fee after 10.
Hotel very run down, tired and dated.

Good sized room - relatively comfy bed. lovely seating area outside, friendly staff, relaxed feel.
there was a smell that reminded me of my Grandad - carpets, furniture and general decor very dated - felt quite old? That said, nothing was broken so it all did what it needed to!

The hotel was great, staff very helpful

We are a returning customer who book this hotel when working in the area due to their facilities and staff
Bedroom with no window for one of our party, this was changed when asked.

Great setting. Rooms were lovely.
Staff all very friendly and helpful.
Major disappointment with the evening meal.
Waitress wasn't particularly pleasant.
All 6 meals had something significantly wrong with them.
3 of the 6 were completely wrong meals.
Awful food. Complained to 'chef' who said the actual chef was off and he was on his own.

Highly recommend lovely rooms

Not too much. The pool was nice but having to pay extra to use it. Not a great idea from the hotel in my eyes.
Only good part was the manager. But would I have thought this if the other issues happened???
Dear hotel, let me ask you a question. Do you want a death caused by your misconduct to the food regulations?
Seriously. Don’t go here. We stayed for 1 night as a last minute thing. £150 a night. No food. No WiFi. No pool or gym. Unless you want to pay even more that is.
I’m only writing in this good box because I ran out of room in the bad box! Let me list some things.
- breakfast, meant to be a buffet continental breakfast. Yeah? So raw eggs. Raw mushrooms and raw bacon is continental?
- staff, rude and sarcastic. (Other than 3)
- food, don’t even bother.
- rooms, decent bed, other than that terrible. Old and out dated, I iPad on the wall as a “tv”. Obviously don’t get cleaned often or properly. It’s a pet friendly hotel. I’m allergic to certain animals. Room was covered with animal hairs. Setting off these allergies.
- activities, decent pool and gym equipment. Gym was a bit cramped but that’s not the hotels fault I guess. Having to pay extra for it though?? Terrible.
- toilets, the toilets for the bar, obviously not maintained. There was a bucket under the urinal due to a leek. But, this bucket was far past full the whole floor was covered in, well I think you can guess what.
Would I stay again. Absolutely not. I’d rather sleep on a park bench.
Would I recommend? Not at all. Not even for people I hate.
£150 a night for 1 double room for one night? Extortion at its finest.
‼️‼️If you want piss wet shoes (literally). Hospitalisation. Emotional damage. Stress. Back problems. Allergy and asthma attacks. Food poisoning. And amongst other things getting high just walking through the corridors. Than this is the place for you. ‼️‼️
Overall, three of us went. Two of us almost died. Great success. Hotel needs demolishing.
A lot.
The staff were rude (expect the female manager and the two young waitresses).
First of all. We paid for the evening meal and breakfast when booking. My partner is a celiac and will end up in hospital if any food is contaminated with gluten. When going for the evening meal we were told that the restaurant was closed today and we’d have to order from the bar menu. When ordering the bar staff expected us to pay for the meal even though we had already paid. This is where the female manager stepped in and helped us out. We didn’t end up having to pay for the meal. However, almost every item on the menu had a “gluten free” option. We couldn’t have stressed more about how important this allergy is we let almost every member of staff know. When reviving the meal we asked again “are you 100% sure this is gluten free” as it looked the exact same as my non-gluten free meal. The staff went and double checked and returned to tell us it was not. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY!!!! We then found out after taking to the head chef himself that there was infact only one gluten free item (the brownie) so my partner was left to eat lettuce and chuckney. This is outrageous. As serious as this allergy is the hotel should not have a gluten free menu that is not gluten free.
We also called the hotel ahead of arrival to double check that they can cater for a celiac. The response was “yes we have a wide variety of gluten free items”.
We couldn’t have been more disappointed. Especially when the head chef spoke to us like he did “what do you want” and “it’s not my problem” and making us feel like being a celiac was a choice and we wanted this reaction.
We were not the only guest with a celiac and we all had the same problem.
The male receptionist was rude and sarcastic. First telling us to leave because “we are a young couple and don’t fit in”???? To then just straight up ignoring us even when we were the only ones there.
However, the female manager was amazing.

Television did not work

Always someone at the front desk and complementary parking.
The noise was just unbearable. With no forewarning about the critical need of ear plugs I could not get any rest that night.
3.1
it was clean, easy to locate and beautiful view
The bartender was so unprofessional. I asked for the food menu so I can order something to eat ( I was really hungry) and she gave an old dirty photocopied piece of paper with no drinks or desert menu while she offered decent menu folders for other guests. I opted to buy a takeaway from Just Eat.

Staff were friendly the building and decor were intriguing. Gym and pool were good
No hot water, charged for the facilities, the breakfast situation, housekeeping overlooked twice, breakfast staff not listening

Felt like home

Management and Staff friendly and eager to help (though there seemed to be a shortage )
nothing else really stood out.
Though clean,, The room and bed was small, bed was uncomfortable, wardrobe inadequate for our stay, bathroom/shower is what i would expect in a hostel. Breakfast was buffet and well stocked (a plus) though I found it very salty. 2nd day there was no buffet, breakfast was ordered, and was given a tiny portion (i suppose i could have asked for more). the breakfast area seemed to be staffed by 1 lady, she must be commended for this as she did not stop and provided a good service.

Location and value for money
No hot water for showers in the morning. Seemed to apply to most of the guests so I assume there was some sort of heating issue. Staff didn’t mention it unless asked.

Second night got upgraded to a lovely room
The first room had a very bright green light like a laser pointing straight at the head of the bed, it lit the room up so bright we had trouble sleeping. The next morning there was no hot water to wash or shower, they said they were waiting for someone to fix it. Very understaffed had to wait ages to be served at the bar.
3.1
Staff were friendly and helpful
Location suited us for visiting family
Parking was easy
No heating in room and even after reporting it wasn't repaired
Toilet wouldn't flush properly and in general the toilet was stained, outdated and you could see it was old. Reported the flushing issue but nothing was done
Leak in pipe to shower
The room on the whole was outdated and looked worn
3.1
Location and ease
The heat of the room was absolutely unbearable.
Was told I'd get an extra fan, never did. Couldn't sleep. Even with the 1 fan I had on, window open, didn't matter what I did, the room wouldn't cool down
The room was absolutely tiny as well.
Other than that, generally, it was a nice stay.

It’s picturesque
Urine on the bathroom floor stained room smelt so bad where they had tried to cover it up with detergent

The room was very neat and had all necessary items. The staff was very warm and hospitable
There was no complimentary breakfast!

Very quaint, traditional hotel, not modern, but just what we like. The staff were very friendly, polite and accommodating to gluten free . Compliments to chef for the breakfast and dinner. Thank you for making our 1 night stay enjoyable x

Location. The room size. How comfortable the place felt.
Top quality it's under appreciated massively.
Will definitely use again.
Nothing. If I was to be picky and try to say.
It would only be about maybe a better shampoo that's about it.
3.1
Easy to find, comfortable, clean inside. Staff were friendly & helpful.
Lots of rubbish outside & the bins were all full & Still full when we left. They had also forgotten to leave ordinary teabags in room.
3.1
looked stunning from the outside, and in a superb location
very “tired” inside, the wall next to where we sat to eat, was covered in flies .
the no smoking in rooms rule was clearly ignored from the stench of cannabis throughout the corridor, including one of the bar staff.
