Many of the skillets and pots need to be pitched, they either had burnt on food or the coating was coming off. A gate would be helpful on main level if traveling with toddlers. We had a blind dog and had brought a gate but could not use it there so we just blocked the stairs off. Also mats needed at outdoor entrances to wipe your feet so you are not constantly dragging in sand. Hulu live TV was not working on several of the TVs. I sent an email and a guy came over to look at it but told my husband that we had to sign in with our Hulu password. He needed to sign in with the rental property's login credentials not ours, he did not understand how Hulu works. We enjoyed the pool and the grill. The walk to the beach was very short, maybe a city block. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Beds were all comfortable.

We stayed three weeks at this property and loved every minute of it. It was very well stocked with cookware, plates, glasses and utensils. Pool was perfect! We wanted for nothing. It was about a 2 block walk to the beach and involved 53 stairs there and then 53 steps, not for any that is disabled. It is in a key area for food shopping, bars, donuts and ice cream. The house fit 9 of us comfortably. The decks were amazing and everyone could have personal space if they needed it. Beds were comfortable and rooms spacious.We will return next year!

Very nice experience! Bedrooms, bathrooms and common spaces were great! We really enjoyed the pool area and proximity to the beach! My only challenge was I needed to clean a bit upon arrival. Lots of glass surfaces (dining table, living room tables, etc) were still fingerprinted and didn’t feel as clean as I would have liked.

In fact, it included far more impressive showers than was pictured online (the master bath has a stand-up shower with multiple shower-heads). The property was clean and well equipped, with many kitchen utensils available. Some frustrations we experienced included the sound of the fan in the master bedroom, which has a disturbing, rhythmic noise to it - we spent the remainder of the vacation in a lower bedroom. The living space furniture was very uncomfortable, and not nearly large enough for a couple to lounge on together for any significant length of time. The keyless entry code that was forwarded by email to us prior did not work, prompting a need to call the rental office to get the code. Other frustrations, outside the control of Kitty Hawk Rentals, included noisy, immature neighbors that were loud late into the evenings, and illegal fireworks being set off, also late at night, by other nearby neighbors.

Close to the beach and convenient to everything we needed. Large enough for the five of us with plenty of extra room. However, we were disappointed with the service from Beach Realty. We asked for an early check in, and I don't feel that we were adequately advised that this was not available before we arrived early. We were told that we'd be called when the cleaning crew was done (we arrived at one and the crew told us they were "almost done"), but we were not, so we were not able to enter until regular check in at 4pm. The dryer failed shortly after we arrived,and we were told that someone would come and take a look at it. No one ever showed, and there was no follow up to tell us why. We kept finding remnants of prior renters, like baby bottles, clothing, and food articles, tucked in corners and between cushions during our stay. Since we were not told that the cleaning crew was finished before our 4pm regular-time arrival, we assume they were not rushed, so we were disappointed with the cleaning. I think the property owners should be commended for the care they clearly put into this house, so I'd still recommend it to a friend.

Overall it's a great location, and the interior of the house was great. The pool and grilling areas were enjoyed as well. As for the service, the house was not ready until after 5pm, and when we got there after being notified it was ready, it had not been cleaned and we had to wait another hour. We found 4-5 maintenance items and notified them Sunday, but no one came out to repair (we notified them daily) until Thursday. That was disappointing, but the stay was still a good one.

It was very hot in OBX the week we stayed (heat index in low 100's a few days). The A/C was set at 70 degrees but typically that top floor at the height of the day & early evening was reading 79/80 degrees. Middle floor, where all but one BR was located was very cool. Pool area is very nice/large with plenty of lounge chairs. Two gas grills came in handy as we used them to cook dinner twice during the week. There was a charcoal grill also but we didn't use it. The condition of the home was good and cleanliness was good as well. A direct and short walk to the beach access was nice. Location is across NC Route 12 from the Harris Teeter shopping center so access to groceries, Duck Donuts, Starbucks was an easy walk (0.5 miles walk). I would recommend the home for vacationers in OBX.

The design of the house and positioning of the rooms were perfect. Loved the sliding door access to the decks and pool from all rooms on all levels. The only drawback was the inaccuracy of the distance to the beach. Wasn’t’t bad but was a 200 yard flat walk and the steps leading up and over the dunes were steep. Just EHD to call it like it is. You deal with it each day.

Property was clean and comfortable. Beds were very comfy which is not common at most rentals. All necessary items were supplied. Pool and spa was a great addition to our family vacation. Short walk to the beach. beaches are very clean and family friendly!!! Only negative was the smoke alarm started going off in the middle of the night for no reason and we had to call 3 times in order to get them to send someone out to repair it, however they did have it fixed quickly once they arrived.

Everything was great! This house was clean with great amenities and location. The pool was clean and such a huge hit especially with our golden doodle! Thanks for being pet friendly.

One thing though, we called Beach Realty to report that the lighting fixture from the ceiling in the back bedroom on the 2nd floor would not work. There was an exposed light bulb only, no fixture and it flickered from time to time. We reported it twice upon arrival and were told someone would be out, however, no one ever showed the entire week. This would not have been a problem had there been another lamp or something in this bedroom. That was the sole lighting for the room. Kind of disappointed with the repair service and the lack of no one calling back and checking on the call.

Plenty of seating to enjoy the pool area and both decks (would suggest adding a gate to the first floor deck on the street side). So great to have the extra refrigerator in the sun room! Everyone wants to visit again!!
