Rooms really clean and bright white fresh bed linen. Lots of hot water 🤩 Staff were so helpful with queries and really upbeat and courteous.

The location.
When I arrived, I was informed that there was a problem with Cooked Breakfast, that only continental breakfast was available.
It consisted of a kettle and a slice pan still in its packaging. Butter and marmalade and a packet of cornflakes. I had a coffee and a slice of toast, but when I checked out, I went elsewhere for my breakfast.

no chi chi. Basic and old fashioned. I didn’t mind. Room was clean. it was quiet and it was the right location after a long drive that day. Breakfast was freshly made.
I couldn’t get a place in the bar so I got a table in the hallway. It was windy and cold. Otherwise no complaints.

very friendly staff, food in the bar was good value for money and the breakfast menu had several choices. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. we would definitely stay again as it provided what we needed to break our journey for the night.
it was cold in the area where we had breakfast but I wouldn’t expect them to heat a large area just for three of us.

The problem with these reviews is that people often use them to air a grievance because they wish they were staying in a 5 star but can't afford it. This hotel was perfect for my needs during my 1 night stay and this review reflects my reservation in a 3 star hotel at the price I paid. I'm not going to mark it down for having no swimming pool or silver service waiter as I knew there wasn't one here before I arrived.
With the Abbey, you know exactly what you are getting when you book..., a convenient, exceptionally clean, hot shower, very friendly, warm, great value for money, comfortable room with the added bonus of a Smart TV and in-room tea/ coffee facilities.
Enjoyed a couple of late drinks at the hotel bar and some friendly chat with the bar staff. It's only 20/25 mins from Killarney so it was perfect for us to escape the crowds at the bar after a show at the INEC. Give me this honest family run establishment any day of the week. Well done and thank you Abbey Hotel. Will see you again.

Rooms were too hot, impossible to sleep. First complaint without suitable answer, room changed after insisting. Unfriendly staff

The staff was really nice and friendly, the space outside the hotel really confortable and the best good point goes to the food! Everything on the menu was delicious and homemade with fresh ingredients!

Staff are lovely, there is a fine car park, contrary to website indication. Accommodation is very good value for money. Very good wifi. It's quite nice to be over the pub. Lovely clean linen and duvets.
Soundproofing in bedrooms is not good good and the door keys, for the purpose of locking/unlocking, make an unholy noise, sufficient to have woken me multiple times. The beds squeak. The decor is a bit tired and old fashioned but in line with the price. Breakfast is patchy, maybe depending on how many people are staying. Some days we had fruit, some days not. Some days pastries, some days not. But the coffee was good and there was plenty of it. Believe it or not, I like to have a toilet brush in the bathroom: don't like that someone else has to clean my toilet!
