LULALIYA is well run by a wonderful family and staff. They are all super kind and friendly. All needs are simply filled and enough, not in excess. The rooms are spotlessly clean! They have an awesome rooftop viewing area. There is a cute little breakfast room and patio that later serves as a ramen dining area. They serve a lovely breakfast plate. The Ramen and fried fish were delicious as well! Lulaliya is 1 minute away from the bus stop and some delicious restaurants. The Kabira bay, glass bottom boat area is a 2 minutes walk. If you enjoy places with personality and warmth this is the place for you. If you want a beachy, family oriented, youthful spot to hang for a while, this is the spot for you. If you are an independant traveler that wants to experience things on their own terms with a little local guidance pointing you in the right directions, this is the place for you. Whatever you do enjoy and embrass the experiences that the Island offers. Kanpai!

Room offered everything we looked for - air condition, balcony, bathroom. Everything was very tidy and very clean. Very good location, 2 min to the Kabira Bay, close to restaurants. Staff was very kind and friendly, very good atmosphere in evenings, very good catering.

Haruki and Satoshi were extremely welcoming and kind and made our stay very pleasant. The guesthouse was very clean and well located in Kabira.

The staff were all super and it was really close to the bay (like less than a five minute walk)! The food was good; it was a little expensive, but that’s on par with what food costs on the island. The staff had lots of recommendations for us and we liked how homey and kind everyone was.

It is a little far from the city and other places to eat, but that can also be a bonus as the drive is BEAUTIFUL!

The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating! The location is only a 5-minute walk to Kabira Bay and the rest of the island can be easily explored by car. Our room was simple, clean, and comfortable and made a great home base during our stay.

Unfortunately, breakfast was not offered during our stay, but there is a nearby cafe and bakery that were both wonderful alternate options. We would also recommend making reservations for dinner at nearby restaurants in advance.

The hotel is so lovely and the staff beyond adorable, there was a typhoon ans they got me some food from the supermarket bc we couldn't go outside! The place itself is so cozy and will make anyone feel like home. I definitely recommend!!

Great location. Near Kabira beach and many shops and restaurants. It was also near the bus stop, so it was really easy to find. The rooms were not too big, but just enough to relax in after a long day at the beach. The highlight of the property was the friendly staff. They were very accommodating; they showed us good places to eat and swim, and even drove us to a scenic spot to watch the sunset.

The staff and the location are 10/10. I loved being able to walk to the beach whenever I wanted. The staff were lovely hosts, making sure I was having a good time on the island. Mayumi san makes amazing breakfast!

The first thing that stands out about Lulaliya is its proximity to Ishigaki’s famous Kabira Bay: it’s less than a five minutes’ walk from the landmark, and that alone makes it worthwhile to book. However, it offers so much more! I stayed three nights with a friend, and we found that it was a perfect place to kick up our heels while staying on Ishigaki. The rooms are cozy and well-furnished, and have everything you might want. On the first floor, there is a spacious café/eating area. Here, you can enjoy the house breakfast (for an extra fee), or even buy breakfast from another place (the nearby bakery, for instance) and bring it back. You can also use it in the evening as a lounge if you’d like to hang out, but don’t want to stay in your room. My friend and I ate birthday cake there! Hot water for tea/coffee and cold water for drinking are available around the clock. The proprietor, Aya, is very friendly, has excellent English, and can help you book any tours you may want. She booked us a wonderful all-day snorkeling/kayaking tour, and helped us shape our days on the island. She was a delight to talk to, and could help us hammer out our plans at the drop of a hat. She’ll introduce you to the nearby restaurants and their hours, which is good—every day, there’s at least one place that’s closed, so it’s good to be careful of. The hotel is also very close to the bus stop, which is another bonus: Ishigaki doesn’t have too many buses, but the Kabira Bay hub is one of the ones where more of them come and go from. We found Lulaliya a great base of operations, and I would stay again in a heartbeat.
