Great place, you turn the corner and you're already on the beach. Very comfortable room, with a large bed and a terrace with chairs. Hot water and a well-functioning fan. The service was very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place!

Great location , 2 mins from beach and 10 mins from town. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Mamas place books tours, arranges transportation and does laundry. Staff are great. Rooms are large with large bed, good sized shower room and balcony with sea view .

Wi-Fi was patchy at times

Das Zimmer war sauber, das Bad war moderner als ich es von Hostels in Sri Lanka gewohnt bin. Es gab einen Balkon mit Hängematte und von dort konnte man das Meer zumindest stellenweise sehen. In 2 min war man entspannt am Strand, in 5 min im Zentrum. Lage ust also top! Es gibt einen Wasserkocher. Das Bett hat ein intaktes Moskitonetz, das Bett ist bequem, Klimaanlage funktioniert. Es gibt ein angrenzendes gleichnamiges Restaurant.

Die Kommunikation mit den Gastgebern fand quasi nicht statt, es war der unpersönlichste Aufenthalt für uns in Sri Lanka. Der Preis ist für einen derart einfachen, wenn auch sauberen Standard viel zu hoch. Es ist halt die Lage zum Meer, die den Preis wohl rechtfertigt. Es gab im Zimmer kaum Ablagemöglichkeiten, keinen Schrank. Es gab nur 2 Steckdosen. Das WLAN war extrem langsam, man konnte auch drauf verzichten. Schade! Im Restaurant bestellten wir am ersten Abend Grilled Chicken, es kam leider teilweise roh. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns gesagt wir hätten boneless bestellen sollen, dann passiert das nicht. Aber das war ein schwaches Argument. Schließlich muss auch ein Grilled Chicken mit Knochen durchgegart sein. Wir haben es beanstandet und ein neues Essen bekommen. Das war auf jeden Fall positiv! Aber es war kein Grilled Chicken, es war gebratenes Huhn in ganz viel Soße. Wieder schade! Wegen der Lage ist abends/nachts viel los. Es ist dann lange sehr laut, teilweise wummern Bässe vom Strand. Für uns war das kein Problem, aber man sollte es vorher wissen und Ohropax dabei haben. Insgesamt ein durschnittlicher Aufenthalt, Preis-Leistung passten nicht für uns.

We stayed for a day and really liked the staff. They were quite friendly and even opened kitchen once again at night after closing since it was late for us to have dinner anywhere else. The room has been set up quite pretty/ pleasant to see and hotel is just next to beach.

They forgot to provide us with the blankets. :P

Everything good excellent,👌location. Very beautiful beach right next to our room. Staff was very friendly. Food was good. They were able to arranged us nice extrusions at very good price at short notice. We had the best time at Mama's place Mirissa.

Staff was very friendly felt almost like home

Very nice Place. Everyone is very kind and friendly there. The rooms are really good and "Mama" cooked delicious Sri Lankan Food for us. Also it's next to the beach (just one minute to walk) and they have a nice chill area.

Room no 7 Water pressure almost zero Could not lock the door to the adjacent room

Right on the beach, you can watch the surfers from the balcony. Big room with a good shower and a huge balcony (I think it was the only one with such a big balcony, though). The staff were relaxed and helpful.

The beach is also a party area at night and it can get pretty loud--not Mama's Place, but the other bars are close enough to hear the music when it gets really loud on the weekend. But that's something that goes with a perfect location I guess.
