Clean with great breakfast

I was in Avalon Hotel for a 2-night business stay. The reception is extremly nice and helpful. There is a free shuttle that can be booked to every location needed. Room is clean and comfortable.

Dinner was excellent as was breakfast. Very good service, friendly staff. The room was quiet. Transport to the airport was on time and the driver very friendly. All staff were very friendly towards my children and me.

The cushions on the bed. So hard and high, like sleeping on a brick. Please also have a couple of softer/thinner cushions for guests who prefer those.

Very convenient location for late arrival to the airport. The shuttle service was great and efficient. the breakfast was very good with a lot of variety

Waiter at the kitchen was slow and looked like she couldn't bother. Hotel was clean, but you can see it is getting tired... Location was out in nowhere, but there is now a small supermarkedet 10 min away on foot

Some staff were friendly. The breakfast was good and the free shuttle out of the hotel and the friendly driver.

The hotel door lock was unsafe and could have easily been accessed (the locking system was warped). We took pictures of this as we were shocked. When we pointed out to staff they remarked that it was normal. The hotel stated that the pool was closed due to adverse weather conditions (they had only put a blue rope next to it and no clear signage to say it was closed). The storm was the previous day and the weather was calm and sunny. We were then told a different story that it was closed because no lifeguard was on duty. This was disappointing not only for us but families with children who had also only booked this hotel as it had a pool. We enjoyed how friendly Greece is and visited many other hotels and villas during our stay which we rated all exceptional. The shower and facilities were passable but this should not be rated a 4 star boutique hotel. We booked a standard room with balcony which we got. The view was a motorway and car hire company. Not the hotels fault but the area was plagued by mosquitos and many children were savaged by them (you could see them everywhere). If you have an early flight this hotel is OK but I would advise to arrive late the evening before and spend your last night in more pleasurable conditions. This was the only hotel that did not meet expectations and the only one we would not return to.
