Great location and nice decor in the reception. Cute room and good shower. Check in and Checkout was very easy. I really appreciated the helpful person at Reception, gave some good advice on areas to eat and helped me with taxi arrangements for the next morning.
Mattress could be improved, but sleepable. Maybe a few more instructions on how to get in -the first time it’s a little tricky figuring out the huge inner door. But once figured out, it’a very easy.

The frescoes and rustic beauty of the building! Amazing!
No complaints.

Location was ok. The towels were actually nice.
This was the saddest hotel room on earth. I have never seen a room so depressing, dull, with stains on the walls and coverlet, dripping taps, ugly paint on furniture that made it look dirty. Just horrible.

the fresco on the ceiling was amazing. free coffee.

The location of the hotel was ideal for a tourists! All main attractions were nearby so it was easy to just walk everywhere.
I hope there were pictures of single rooms in the hotel gallery, too. I was expecting to see pretty wall paintings in my room - as it is shown in the images on Booking.com - but all the walls were plain white, which was a slight disappointment.

Its location
Had a bit of trouble finding the hotel initially. Its behind a large door and need to buzz the intercom to access from the street.

It was our fifth stay at Hotel Burchianti. We'll be back soon to enjoy this lovely hotel and our favourite, frescoed room. Thank you to Mario for a wonderfully warm welcome. We were greeted by name, on arrival. These small things make a huge difference. Thank you, Mario.

This hotel in an old palace is ideally located for sightseeing. The thick walls make sure you do not hear anything at night although you're in the heart of Firenze. The station and tram stop is just a 5 minute walk away. Note that the reception is not staffed 24h but they make sure you get into your room if you arrive late. Staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. The breakfast room with its stylish ceiling and furniture provides a nice atmosphere.
Not all rooms have a window to the outside world, some only have a skylight to an inner court. Currently breakfast is not buffet-style but served at the table with a limited number of items.

What a gorgeous hotel right in the heart of Florence. The Birchianti has a 400 year history, firstly a family home, and then converted into a school until 1976. The hotel is situated on the first floor of this beautiful building, just a couple of minutes walk from the main palazzo.
A small hotel of just 11 rooms, each unique and packed with orginal features. The modernisations have been done very sympathetically, providing excellent bathroom facilities and soundproof windows.
The main reception room accomodates reception staff, a small lounge area and 4 breakfast tables, with which to enjoy a leisurely breakfast admiring the gorgeous orginal painted ceiling and stylish decor.
Each bedroom is unique with its own fresco ceiling and antique furniture. All very clean, with great bathroom facilities, one of the best showers we have seen in a hotel. There is both airconditioning and heating in the rooms.
The staff at this hotel are superb. On arrivial Adelina gave us a map and a very extensive guide of Florence, which proved useful during our stay. Her suggestion for a good gelato was spot on "there is always a queue, but worth the wait" was absolutely correct, we would have been put off by the queue without the advice.
I woud advise pre-booking for major sights, ticket queues were long and many attractions have a daily limit, which sold out quickly. Getting to galleries early in the morning is also advantageous.
Both Marco and Adelina provided 5 star service, and could not do enough for us over our stay. We can not thank you enough for making our first time Florence so enjoyable.
Adeleina told us on arrival we would love Florence, we certainly did fall completley in love with Florence,
There was absolutely nothing to dislike about the Birchianti.

The style of this accommodation is exceptional. We are repeat guests. Mario and staff leave nothing to chance. Knowledge and advice was first rate. The room was an excellent size.
The electrical system concerning the fridge, the tv went off when the lights were turned off or when the airconditioning temperature was changed. Tried to fix it. A quirk!!!

Great staff, nice room with a fresco on the ceiling (very Florence 😁).

Location is central Florence.
Decor in parts of the hotel was to be admired.
Room was booked fairly late in the day but we were accommodated with an attic room - the "suite with a view" which is shown on the website.
Parking. Parking without reservation is offered at nearby location but we arrived to be told we may not be fitted in and that our car may be taken to an unspecified second location, not favoured as we did not want to empty our entire car. Also, that we would not be able to collect the car before 10am the next day, delaying our onward journey. None of this was mentioned in our communication with the hotel.
Reception. This is listed as 24hr front desk. NO. We were shown to our room by a charming receptionist and then the desk was abandoned for the rest of the night. We were only able to communicate our problem with them by using our own phone to call them on a telephone number STUCK ON A POST IT NOTE ON THE PUBLIC FRONT DOOR ENTRANCE. Not a single other member of staff to be seen or found in the whole hotel. Very shabby.
Plugs. We travel frequently & have adaptors but the hotel has both modern 2 pin and the old 3 pin style sockets. We had to phone the number at the front door and then go down to the front desk ourselves and find 3 pin adaptors in the office desk.
Restaurant. The hotel lists a restaurant as part of its facilities. NO. A breakfast room in the same room as reception. If you want any other meal, you need to eat out and although the receptionist kindly booked us a table - choice of restaurant was poor. However, there are plenty of eateries within a few minutes wander round from the front entrance. Breakfast was adequate but limited.
Clothes hanging. Room is listed with a wardrobe/closet/hanging rack. NO. But there was a shabby cupboard with a safe in it, where you may hang your shirts and ONE OF THE DOORS WAS MISSING. Quite a different image to the lovely fresco'd atmosphere of other rooms.
Toilet. Room is listed with additional toilet. NO. There is one toilet in the bathroom.
"Suite" is distinctly misleading as it is one large room with a corner squared off for the bathroom.

The place is beautiful, all rooms are majestic. The breakfast and the pillows could be improved.
The parking was a disaster. They broke our handbrake and they didn’t repair it, we should pay for the hole parking time and they fretted us with the police if we didn't”t go. They even try to hold us in the garage against our will. I definitely won’t come back again. The hotel should be responsible due they sent us there.
