Alles einwenig altmodisch.

Beautiful, tranquil location where you can hear the little Teinach brook from the balcony (pay a little extra for a balcony room) and watch the hawks circling over the hillside. Bad Teinach was the summer retreat from Stuttgart of the Dukes of Württemberg and the exclusive Hotel Therme has been established around the ducal "ballroom". This is a very small village with only one shop at the time we visited (a sort of health and beauty products shop, not a chemist), though there is also a post office open a couple of hours a week. There is one other small hotel/restaurant apart from Eleon (Waldhorn, closed at the time of our visit) as well as the welcoming Otto's Bar in the Hotel Therme, which is reasonably priced and welcomes all-comers into the early morning. The beautiful top-class Hotel Therme, which serves delicious meals in a relaxining ambiance.
Eleon is a marvellous base for a Walk in the Black Forest and worth staying at least two days.... if the Eleon's restaurant is not open, get to the Schlossberghütte up the side of the hill by say 4pm (check when it shuts, currently 6pm most days, closed Monday/Tuesday), a lovely new "log cabin style" place to eat and have regional specialities like the meatloaf "Fleischkäse", "Maultaschen" sort of ravioli and sausages. Beer is very good too, tremendous views. A fairly easy (say 3 hours with stops) signposted circular walk along the lovely hillsides or a direct say 20 minutes uphill.
Excellent breakfast at Eleon with Black Forest ham, boiled eggs, and lovely bread rolls. Typical for a German hotel, breakfast is more expensive and the room rate lower as this benefits any guests staying on business.
Ample, simple, and free parking, c. three spaces by the entrance door and a further car park marked "for guests" across the road.
Eleon is the place to experience Bad Teinach from if you don't have the time for luxury spa treatments.
It was a great disappointment that we were informed a week or two before our stay that the cook would be off sick just at the time of our visit, and that the management could find no substitute, -as the menu looks really nice and we would have loved to try the food and drink. As above, there is only one Gasthaus alternative in the village (when open) and one nice restaurant, but otherwise the best alternative is to walk a bit further and eat in the Schlossberghütte during the day.
Eleon's lift was not working and a smoke alarm was squeaking intermittently to announce it needed a new battery, so a maintenance blitz was needed.
We enjoyed our stay, though.

The staff was very nice and welcoming. The area is superb and the hotel it-self is retro style and I like it a lot. The bedrooms are big and really confortable with the little balcony. The village is also interesting with the baths.

We travelled here with a group for work. We were very well looked after by the staff. The breakfast was great and the food on offer was great, I recommend checking out the steaks. They’re the best. The location is outstanding with some stunning walks in the forests just minutes away.

Friendly staff, good breakfast
The heater was not on so the room was super cold. It took us some time to get the room to a decent temperature. The next morning the heater was again off because it seems they programmed the gas to be pimp only at night. It was a chilly morning where we dress-up really fast to go for the check out. The shower also is quite small. Do not like that even we ask for a deluxe room... I don't want to imagine how small were the other bathrooms. The bed linings are natural feather 🪶 , that is out of use nowadays since many allergenic factors. So we got some itchiness when we woke up.

For one night stay its ok. Breakfast is good. Room was clean, a little old fashon. Hotel door is closed always. You need a key. Elevator was not working. I think the covid crisis made it slow down….
