The house was the perfect size and the perfect amenities (pool table, huge backyard deck, large dining table, etc.) for our group of 8. Area was fun for exploring local wineries, cute shops, and quaint towns.
We’d love to return again some day!

We booked the main house plus three additional units for four nights to host a Thanksgiving celebration with extended family. The location was handy for those flying in for the event and offered us great options for day trips. The main house had plenty of space for cooking, eating, and hanging out together. The teens loved the pool table, and we all loved sitting in front of a cozy fire in the family room and catching up on family news.

We arrived and found the heating was not working. The thermostat registered 45 degrees. We attempted countless times to contact the Owner and contact Vrbo to contact the owner to no avail. Our stay is over and we have still to hear back from anyone. Vrbo was terrible to deal with considering we were on hold and passed around from “team to team” for 4 hours. It was winter outside and the house was inhabitable without heating. I would avoid booking this property due to the heating and unresponsive host. I would avoid Vrbo after dealing with their customer support.

It is a beautiful property. And the property manager was very quick with a response about any inquiries. We were able to get two other suites after we arrived which was very helpful. And after the first night we could not get the heat to turn on so they brought us space heaters right away. I would definitely stay there again.

We came for a bachelorette weekend and had a great time! The house is beautifully decorated and so interesting. So much space to spread out and relax. Great place for visiting vineyards and relaxing hikes. I would highly recommend this home for your stay!

When I rented this property I let the property Owner know that this will be for a bachelorette weekend. In the listing it does say that there are other rental properties on site but that the rental properties are not connected. This is simply not true. We are horrified to discover that the rental property shares a door and walls with the additional rental properties. The lock was on their side of the door and could unlock it and come into our space. Our rental included a deck but the other renters continued to complain when our party was outside or anywhere near their door. It created a lot of tension and unhappiness during our weekend. The kitchen was also in pretty rough shape. The house is beautifully decorated and very charming. It was just a big disappointment about the lack of transparency regarding the other rental properties.

This was a nice place for a group of 14 near to Harper’s Ferry. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and the common spaces were great for us all to spend time together in. The only problem we had is that the grill was out of propane and we couldn’t get ahold of the owner to get it refilled. We ended up cooking over the campfire which turned out fine. Some of the handles on the cabinets and the arms of some chairs were loose or broken - there’s a bit of shabbiness to the furniture in the common spaces that should be fixed.

We rented for the bridal party to have a close location to the wedding events for the weekend. We had no issues and all seemed to enjoy their time. We rented the extra room as well so their was plenty of space to spread out for everyone. The property manager was quick to respond to our questions which was appreciated. Thank you.

Several friends and I stayed at this house for a weekend away from the city and tubing at Harper’s Ferry. Communicating with Charles was easy and I received quick replies. The bunk room upstairs was a bit warm but we made it work. Thanks so much for having us!

Bachelorette
We stayed for a bachelorette. Property worked out well. It was hard to get in touch with owners and they never got back to us when we contacted them during our stay.

An excellent experience worthy of your consideration
Our stay at the property went quite well. I'm grateful that we were able to use this home to accommodate my close friends and out-of-town guests for my wedding at Rosemont.
The decor, cleanliness, and living space of this property really made this whole experience stand out. This truly is a beautiful and well-maintained property and I would highly recommend it to travelers thinking of visiting Berryville.

Awesome & cozy home was the perfect fit for us!
We had an awesome time ringing in the new year at The Outpost. The spacious and cozy common areas were perfect for shared meals and bored games galore. The bunk bed room that sleeps 10 housed our whole group - just like summer camp :) We had an amazing stay and would definitely go back!

Cute Home; Misleading Property Listing
The ambience and decorations of this property were beautiful. A little misleading as the home is located in a suburban area, not remote. Also, we were asked to check-in later than 4pm, but even upon arrival, the home was dirty. Their were food crumbs on the dining room table, random pieces of candy on the window sill, bath mats hadn't been washed...Also, upon booking, we requested access to one of the en suite rooms. We asked for the codes, received them, and then when we entered, discovered they were absolutely filthy and supposedly not a part of the reservation...although that had never been communicated prior. Additionally, the codes for the keypads were changed overnight without us being notified and we were locked out. Overall, beautiful property that could be better managed.

Misrepresented and in disrepair
We have just come back from our stay at this place and we need to share a few things that impacted our stay in a negative way:
1. The place was dirty and in disrepair. We found a good amount of trash both inside and out around the property. Paper, plastic bags, clothing items, empty cans, plastic utensils etc. Inside we found small zip lock bags around the pool room with food remnants. The kitchen was dirty especially the stove along with dishes and utensils not washed and dirty.
2. The icemaker was broken and there was a huge block of ice in the freezer and in the maker and we couldn't use it.
3.There was no Introduction Welcome Book or something to tell us where things might be, directions about things etc.
4. For a house of this size and price that advertised for 10 people, we did not have enough utensils, glasses, or platrs and spent time washing dishes so everyone could have what they needed.
5. There was very little toilet paper 1 roll, no paper towels, dish towels, or trash bags so we had to go out and buy that along with ice.
6. One of our guests is a fireman and at least 2 smoke alarms were broken. He shared that this is in direct violation of fire codes.
7. We were either freezing or roasting depending on which part of the house we were in.
8. There was broken glass and a broken frame on the stairwell so we were worried about people getting cut.
9. There were a LOT of completely melted candles everywhere on trays and tables. All that was left were the wicks, it was weird. Candle wax was everywhere and we couldn't use the coffee table surfaces.
10. The bikes that were offered are not rideable at all. We were excited about a family ride and pumped all of the tires but they would not hold the air as some of the tires have gone bad.
11. We feel the property and landscape is misrepresented a great deal. We expecting a nice Christmas gathering and respite but the property overlooks a suburban neighborhood and is next to the railroad. The house and property is in disrepair and needs a good amount of work. There are extreme safety and comfort concerns as well.
This was all shared with the owners but no one bothered to respond. We are a family of hard-working individuals and we were just looking for a relaxing getaway and we do not feel the property provided that at all.

The unique Outpost
A very appealing quaint place to stay. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. It accommodated my family well. It does need some curb appeal. I reached out to the host Renee' twice, asking about a Christmas tree...did not get a response. Checking in and out was very easy. Thank you. I would reccomend it to my friends.

Our Stay
This house is amazing! The cleanliness, the space, outdoor deck, privacy, etc. The owner was responsive and helped us answer any questions we had during our stay. The inside decor is beautiful and the outdoor deck was so spacious as well. Overall, my spouse and our friends enjoyed our stay here.

Everything and more!
My friends and I had the privilege of staying at the Outpost for a mini-reunion this past weekend and the stay was nothing short of amazing! The property was everything we could have wanted and more. From the decor to the entertaining spaces, to the "freshly burned fire" smells and surrounding areas, it was awesome. We will definitely be back to stay!

Great Location!
Renee, the host, was great and spot in with communication. The home is well equipped and clean. A shirt drive to a charming town with hikes, wineries, and breweries not far away to enjoy. Great stay!

Daughters wedding weekend stay
We felt that the condition of the property was not reflected in the listing. Conditions much shabbier then depicted. Windows and window sills were dirty, light bulbs missing in lamps and deck lights, tile in kitchen had to be cleaned, ice maker missing and water leaking in freezer, decors items were dusty. General neglect of property details. Wi- fi did not work the entire stay. Host finally got a tech out day before check out and it worked for 45 minutes then went out again. Guests were trying to work from property but had to leave to get Wi-fi elsewhere. Disappointed in the overall neglect and lack of oversight of the property.

I’ve been to many VRBO type properties and the listings are hardly accurate. This property blew me away. From the comfortable beds, soft towels, high end shampoo conditioner provided, well equipped kitchen, and beautiful outdoor space, this property was by far one of the best ones I’ve ever stayed in. The hosts were quick to answer messages and the proximity to wineries made for a truly memorable bachelorette weekend for my best friend. Truly 10/10 stay!

Best VRBO I have ever stayed in!
We chose this large property for its space availability and location. This was BY FAR the best rental property I (and my wedding party of 13 people) had ever stayed in! It is adorable, and was very clear that this property was extremely well taken care of. The property/deck space is gorgeous, the beds were so comfortable, tons of space to hang out/didn't feel cramped at all (even with 13-14 people there at a time), and having a full kitchen was wonderful. Renee was also SO wonderful- she was always available via email when we had a question of needed something, including the weeks leading up to our stay. 10/10 review!

Beautiful home with character. All 8 guests were able to have their own bed which was a pleasant surprise. Property manager was extremely nice and answered any questions we had. Very easy check-in process and location is very close to hiking trails and winery. Would stay again.

Perfect family home-away-from-home!

Winery Weekend
Charming little house provided a great home base for a winery weekend with friends. The house was great although we could not get in contact with anyone who could unlock a bathroom door so went -1 bathroom for the entire stay. All in all a decent trip.

Beautiful, well decorated home. Old farmhouse feel with updated applicants and clean, comfortable beds. Great for large groups. Very aesthetically pleasing outside and in! Would definitely recommend.

My group loved our time at the outpost! The space is beautiful and the check-in / checkout process was simple. Renee was amazingly responsive for any questions we had. We did have a couple of speed bumps, mainly with the houses heat - we found it was always hot upstairs and chilly in the dining/television area- and the Sonos speakers, we could only get one to work. Otherwise, we loved our stay! It is worth mentioning that other groups were staying in the suites during our visit and we could hear them at various times during the trip. It didn’t bother us but I’m sure others may be a little weirded out.

A fun retreat
Such a fun time for my bachelorette party! The house was clean and had everything we needed. It was nice to sit out on the back patio at night and had plenty of seating for everyone! Would recommend to anyone with a large group. Keep in mind the 3rd room is full of bunk beds, but my friends and I fit in them with no problem! The owners were very nice and accommodating to anything we asked of them!

Nice and updated Farmhouse & Location
This location had plenty of space for four couples. The house itself is very cozy and rustic, with updated kitchen and bathrooms. The pool table / billiards room was used frequently as well. The back deck and big yard had a nice woods view, however there is a neighborhood to half of the view with other houses plainly in sight, but set back enough it did not feel too encroaching. This wasn’t evident in the advertising photos.
Another note of transparency: there was no mention that the property is shared with other rental units. We had the main house to our party, but we had to share the back deck and grill. There are 3-4 other rental units on property in addition to the main house. Not a huge problem, as they were great guests, but this should be mentioned in the listing, as we were a bit surprised when we arrived.

Beautiful Home for Family Winter Adventure
The house is a lovely updated farmhouse, and the décor is very stylish and unique. The beds and bedding are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are all completely updated and very nicely done. We had a wonderful family gathering here for three nights in December, with two couples and seven millennials. Everything we needed was provided, and the kitchen, dining area, indoor fireplace, and excellent game room got plenty of use. We especially enjoyed the comfortable seating around the large indoor fireplace for family time and games. The kitchen is open and functional, although the cabinets could use some renovation and organization. The house is situated on the edge of a less well-kept part of Berryville close to other homes and close to an older industrial section. Once you arrive at the house, the setting is fairly private, although other homes are visible. In warmer weather, the huge lighted deck and outdoor firepit would have been really fun. Berryville is a good location for day trips to go hiking and exploring. We visited Harpers Ferry, hiked at Sky Meadows State Park, and visited a few breweries, a winery, and an antique store. The Outpost is a great place for quality family time! Note that we did have to ask for help with unlocking and accessing the fourth bedroom, which is a beautifully appointed master suite with full bath and king-sized bed.
