Was a good base location for travelling over the local areas, having stayed in another property at the location we knew it was a little isolated but this didn’t bother us.
Property has a serious damp issue, having read about this in previous reviews I assumed it had been fixed. The smell was very unpleasant and triggered asthma symptoms.
The double single bedroom had a strong smell of urine.
The property looked clean on the surface, but had lots of harvest spiders, dust under shelves, behind beds, dirty towel on back of bedroom door, window traps full of thick dust - it needs a serious deep clean. Parking wasn’t close, could have been mentioned. We would have complained but having driven 220 miles, not much point, made the most of it. Left evening before departure day. Shame really, could be really nice.

There was no WiFi
Coin meter for electricity
It wasn't clean ( lots of dust and damp smell in all rooms) behind the beds had rubbish and dirty.
My six year old grandson found a pair of black filthy knickers at the side of the bed .
The fire extinguisher had been used as the seal has been broken and this should be replaced.

We were at a convention at West point in Exeter so the cottage was very well located, just under 25 minutes drive.
It would be good to have a free wi-fi connection.
4.2
It was clean and tidy had everything we needed

The beds were really comfy, the location was beautiful and only a short walk to the donkey sanctury who do a lovely breakfast. The cottage had everything you needed for a great holiday.
4.2
Lovely location near the donkey sanctuary, a car is needed to access other surrounding areas like the beaches and towns.... but you can walk to the donkey sanctuary - there is a off road, gated path across the road from the holiday park entrance. Lovely cafe at the sanctuary too.
The cottage was very clean and had all the facilties we needed, with extras like a hair dryer and hand wash. The beds were made up with nice bedding and towels were supplied as was toilet paper. Milk and biscuits was a nice touch. Picnic bench outside. The meter already had credit and we were there 5 days and didn't have to top it up.
Nothing

Little touches like the chocolate digestives left with the tea and coffee, money paid into the electricity meter, a welcome note, torches at various places within the property, an umbrella in the stand all added to the comfort. Comfortable beds and sofa, accessible shower. The menu for the nearby donkey sanctuary restaurant was useful.
Noisy neighbours meant I changed bedroom halfway during my stay. The salt and pepper shakers were empty and the main light in the second bedroom didn't work. However these were all small inconveniences that didn't really impact on my enjoyment of my stay.

The electric meter topped up.
Muddy Ground works around the site.
(Told updating water supply)

Self catering
Site itself was a bit dilapidated in places. Beds comfortable, but bed settee hard .Roads to it very narrow with high hedges either side.

Breakfast wasn't included.
Furniture uncomfortable, musty smell, chrome fittings rusty.

A lovely chalet in the corner so nice and private. Quirky and colourful chalet. If you love donkeys ... even better as you're next to the donkey sanctuary..(well worth a visit) was lovely hearing them ,even If early in the morning. Comfy beds , nice shower .
It was lovely and quiet there . Good communication with owners.
Was quite surprised it was set in a sort of closed down holiday park . Didn't realise there was other chalets there too and it didn't look very appealing on arrival into the park due to an unused re eption building and chalet was quite hard to locate , good job we saw the chalet cleaner ! She was friendly and recommended places to visit.
There is no easy walk to the coast and no shops etc nearby so you definitely need transport.
You are told there's no WiFi but even using your data , the signal isn't great.

We really liked the location next to the Donkey Sanctuary. The cottage was very clean and fully equipped with everything we needed for our holiday. Beds were very comfortable. We thought it was excellent value for money.
The living room was a bit small and the sofa was not very comfortable.
4.2
The location was perfect, the cottage was perfect. We all loved it. The electric was paid so didn't need to worry. There was dvds, books and the kitchen was great too.
There was nothing we didn't like, apart from leaving 😕

For a chalet/style holiday house, it is bigger more solid and altogether a lot more classy. Very colourful, nice pictures on the walls; bright arty cushions, rugs and bedspreads. It has a stereo system with CDs. There was milk and chocolate digestives in the fridge and Cornish clotted-cream ice cream in the freezer. The wet room style tiled bathroom and shower was very good. Bray Cottage is very hard to fault. Only the DVD player on the side of the TV didn’t work. It was jammed. There’s no internet, but that was actually a blessing because it meant we couldn’t use our phones. Parking outside and air conditioning would be a blessing ( especially on this heatwave) , but this would no doubt have pushed the price up. It was very good value, clean, welcoming, cheerful and appeals to the artistic, ambient Devon-loving soul. Also I think it’s dog- friendly too.
DVD player on TV jammed. But that’s really minor.
It’s hard to fault!

Very quiet and peaceful location.
Close to The Donkey Sanctuary.
Short walk to bus stops.
The holiday site felt a bit strange at first with abandoned bullding works.
The single bed mattresses were uncomfortable.
Eratic hot water.

Everything I needed was there. I liked the quiet location and hearing the donkeys from the donkey sanctuary nearby. I had an issue with an electricity meter which was sorted swiftly. Next time I go on training I would happily stay there again.
Extremely cold floors in the bathroom.
4.2
Nice quiet location neatly kept, right next door to the donkey sanctuary. Lovely and clean, equipped with everything needed, (plus more.) Bright and cheerful decoration with loads of funky pictures and personal touches. Comfy bedrooms, great wet room. Tea tray with hob nobs and fresh milk in fridge. Fabulous place to recharge your batteries, although a car is a must as there's nothing close by, (other than the donkey sanctuary, where you can get a lovely breakfast) ☺
Nothing

Good location with quality coastal walks from the door. The location was pretty quite apart from the donkeys that seemed to bray half the night !!
The site is a little run down and needs new investment.

Bray cottage was lovely very quiet just what we needed the cottage was very clean and welcoming love to hear the donkeys at night very well Equipped with ever think u would need and u had a great welcome basket
The seating was terrible it was very hard and you couldn’t sit on them for long which spoiled the time we spent indoors which caused both of us problems as when you had a lovely day out you want go back and relax which we could not do

Great little flat in a holiday park. Clean, comfy and quiet. Great value for money. Short walk to the beach past the Donkey Sanctuary. Enough electricity for the 5 nights. Everything in place for our stay. Just literally needed our clothes, toiletries and food. Had a great stay. Will give it 4 out of 5 stars x
Shower head needs replacing. The one currently installed is just a bit tired.

Great accommodation , perfect location just a short trip into sidmouth Center .
Accomadation has everything we needed kitchen wise and bedrooms. Bed was really comfortable.electric meter which lasted our entire stay. Perfect for our first family holiday . Lovely outdoor picnic table . Would definitely recommend.

Cottage was well equipped and in an excellent location, next to the donkeys. Beds were very comfortable and all electricity paid for. Bed linen and all towels were provided which was great
The cottage was quite cold as it didn't get much sun due to trees.

You're in the middle of nowhere so the serenity of this place is lovely and peaceful.
I did get woken up during the night by the local donkeys
4.2
The peace and quiet was tangible, what a lovely place to relax, ease your worries and let the world drift away.
The beds were excellent harbours of comfyness. The wet room rocked. The kitchen well stocked with pots and pans.
Put a comfy sofa/seating 8n there and I would be back in a shot..
Could do with a more comfortable sofa. Especially for those of us with mobility problems. I had to lie on the bed to get comfy so couldn't interact with family sat in main room. Could also do with changing the heaters for oil filled radiators with stats. Would be warmer.these are not criticisms we enjoyed our brief stay but these things would have made it better for us.
4.2
The house had everything you needed for a short stay.
The seating in the lounge was quite uncomfortable and there were no garden chairs. The garden bench was a bit wobbly and didn't feel safe.
