Das Yellow House ist ein großes und elegantes Haus mit 4 Schlafzimmern im bahamaischen Kolonialstil. Die Wohnbereiche öffnen sich zu hübschen, umlaufenden Veranden und bieten einen privaten Pool und einen Essbereich im Freien, der die Gelassenheit des Lebens auf Eleuthera bietet. Dieses Haus eignet sich perfekt für große oder mehrfamiliäre Gruppen und befindet sich auf dem Hügel im Governors Harbour in einer kleinen Wohngemeinschaft namens Governors Estate, die Teil der angesehenen Governor's Harbour-Immobiliensammlung ist.
Das Erdgeschoss des Gelben Hauses verfügt über einen großen Raum und einen Speisesaal, die mit unaufdringlicher Raffinesse eingerichtet sind. Die Küche ist groß und modern, mit Geräten aus Edelstahl und einer maßgeschneiderten Insel - perfekt für Unterhaltung. Auf dieser Ebene gibt es auch eine Gästetoilette sowie einen separaten Hauswirtschaftsraum mit Waschmaschine und Trockner.
Das Gelbe Haus verfügt über insgesamt vier Schlafzimmer. Das Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss enthält zwei Einzelbetten, die sich leicht in einen König verwandeln lassen. Zu diesem Zimmer gehört ein komplettes Bad. Es gibt drei weitere Schlafzimmer im zweiten Stock, darunter zwei mit Kingsize-Betten und eines mit zwei Doppelbetten und einem Tagesbett. Alle Schlafzimmer haben ein eigenes Bad.
Ein privater Balkon von einem der Kingsize-Zimmer bietet einen Blick über den Atlantik. Die beiden anderen Schlafzimmer im zweiten Stock teilen sich einen Balkon und bieten einen schönen Blick auf die üppige Landschaft.

Great house, location and amenities. Very comfortable and back-up generator was greatly appreciated.
Did not have golfcart for first few days, but a brand new cart was delivered for second half of our stay. A little miscommunication on the housekeeping service ( found out that you need to coordinate prior as service and dates are not pre-set).
Overall, great home and great vacation. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed our stay at the Yellow House July 2023. The home is updated and comfortable for our group of 7 adults (3 couples and 1 individual). The golf cart is perfect for the ride down to the Leave Beach that is beautiful. Great getaway for some R&R.

We had a great experience staying at the Yellow House! Unfortunately, the golf cart was not working while we were there, but it was located close enough to the beach, grocery, and restaurants that we were able to walk. I cannot recommend this property more if you are looking for a family spot near a almost private beach! 10/10!

Friendly, responsive, we’ll appointed and perfect location
We have been coming to GH for years and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yellow House. Dominic and Joy were a pleasure to deal with and their knowledge and responsiveness were much appreciated. The house is clean, well furnished and well decorated. The electricity, satellite and wifi, which can be tricky in some houses were the best we have had in the Bahamas. The location is ideal and we would highly recommend staying at Yellow House. Thanks again for everything Dominic and Joy.

The Yellow House is an excellent property centrally located in Governors Harbour near restaurants, shops, grocers, coffee shops, and beaches and is less than a one hour drive to the most distant island attractions. The house accommodated our family of 6 very well and included many small amenities that made our stay more enjoyable. Property Managers (Joy and Dominic) were great to work with and very accommodating.

A perfect family vacation spot
The Yellow House was the perfect "home base" for a family of 5...well-stocked kitchen, nice pool, washer/dryer, spacious bathrooms, and clean and comfortable beds. The golf cart was also a nice way to get to the beach. The nearby beach is a hidden gem - one of the best on the island in terms of beauty and relaxation. We also worked remotely and had no issues with Wi-Fi. Joy and Dom were extremely helpful and accommodating. Overall a wonderful experience that we will never forget!

I can't wait to come back
Had a fantastic stay at Yellow House. Dom and Joy were great hosts, checked us in quickly and showed us the ropes and were always around if we needed anything.
The house was even more beautiful and spacious than in the pictures, and the location is perfect. Governor's Harbour is a great base on Eleuthera - about halfway down the island - and is close to restaurants and gas and groceries. We loved all the beaches we went to but French Leave - right down the road on the golf cart - was our favorite. The house came with umbrellas, chairs, coolers - everything we needed for a great beach week. Fully stocked kitchen, good wifi, great AC - really the perfect place to relax with friends for the week. The pool is great too!
Can't say enough good things about Joy and Dom and the house, and about Eleuthera in general - warm people, gorgeous and empty beaches - the perfect house for the perfect vacation. Can't wait to return someday soon!

I've visited Eleuthera many times over the last 13 years and never stayed at one of the Coleman's properties and boy I will never make that mistake again. Everything about the experience was fabulous. The design of the house is very comfortable for a large group and well stocked with everything you need for a great week at the beach. The kitchen is well equipped, there are lots of extra bath and beach towels, plenty of beach chairs, and even coolers to take with you to the beach. The bathrooms also have shampoo, soap, and hair dryers so no need to pack any of that. The location is ideal to explore the island from top to bottom since you are centrally located and I enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants or hop in the golf cart to French Leave which is just a couple mins drive. Kathy, the owner, is a wonderful host and greeted us after we arrived to get us acquainted with the house and answer any questions we had about Eleuthera. She provided a complimentary lasagna, a couple bottles of wine, beer, and water which was there when we arrived. There is also a management team that is on call 24/7 for you if you have any problems which is very comforting. The property is beautifully maintained and has all the comforts of home. Eleuthera is a very special place but not for everyone. There are beautiful unspoiled and uncrowded beaches and wonderfully friendly and kind people here. What you won't find is chairs lining the beach with full service amenities. If you are looking for a wonderful dining experience, I suggest you contact Bacchus Fine Foods and schedule a night to have Angelica prepare a meal for you. Wonderful experience!!!

There were 9 of us (two families- 4 adults and 5 kids ages 8-14) staying at Yellow House for the week. The house was perfect for us! We had two masters and the 5 kids each had their own beds in the other 2 bedrooms. It was so nice to have the pool for the late afternoons after being busy all day. The owner, Kathy, was very attentive. She met us after we arrived and went over some things in the house and made recommendations for different things we may need throughout the week. The house was very clean on arrival and the description of the house was perfect! It was decorated beautifully and we felt like we were guests in someone's house rather than being in a rental- it felt like home. It was well appointed and if we needed something, it was most likely at the house. We used the grill (worked great) several times and that was nice to keep the heat outside. The a/c units were very efficient. The golf cart was a very nice touch- just be sure not to leave the beach with the golf cart key so the rest of your party has to walk home an hour later! oops! We found that going north on French Leave Beach was well worth it. Instead of going straight when you see the blue, make a left and head down that dirt road. There was no one on that area of the beach and there was a little blow hole the kids enjoyed. The one thing we missed a bit was having an outdoor shower or hose to rinse off feet and legs after the beach- we just improvised and brought a bucket outside. All in all we absolutely loved our week at Yellow House. The time went way too quickly. We are all looking forward to our next visit!

We rented the Yellow House for a girls trip. 10 days later we felt like we were leaving home. Kathy, Joy and Dom made sure from start to finish we had a stress free holiday. The house is beautiful inside and out. The area is safe and quiet. Very dark at night, which makes for amazing star gazing! Shopping was very convenient. We pre-ordered a cheese platter or our first night from Bacchus. It was so good we booked a private dinner later in the week. Great restaurants, 1648, Buccaneer's and Tippy's are all a short drive away. Beaches are beautiful and overall we found the island to be friendly and a joy to explore. Fish Fry Friday is not to be missed. We will be back to Eleuthera and the Yellow House! !

This is a fantastic house. I can't think of a single thing that we could have asked for that wasn't at our disposal. The kitchen is well appointed, all the bedrooms have comfy beds with luxurious linens. Lots of pool/beach towels and the golf cart to get to the beach. Nice pool with lots of floats. Kathy is an excellent hostess and took the time to see if she could assist with suggestions and local knowledge. All of the beaches are lovely and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Our group travels together every year and this house was one of our best in 21 years. We would recommend this location to anyone!

We loved everything about our 7 night stay at Yellow House in Governor's Harbour. The home was beautifully appointed and well supplied. The property manager and owner could not have been more helpful. They went out of their way to anticipate our needs, reply to any questions/issues immediately and make spot on recommendations. The Governor's Harbour location is central on Eleuthera allowing exploration of the entire 110 gorgeous miles of island. Yellow House is a short distance from the conveniences of the town, the best restaurants in the area, the prettiest beach we have seen. It is a winner!

Had a wonderful time in Eleuthera at Kathy's Yellow House. Kathy was very kind and welcoming to our group. House is beautiful and very comfortable. As others stated, it was very kind of Kathy to cook for us and have some water/wine for us at the house when we arrived. We stayed for about 5 nights. Had an issue with the water pump one night, and Kathy promptly fixed the issue the next morning.

French Leave beach is just spectacular; big, empty, beautiful pink sand, fun rolling waves, snorkel off the beach and a 45 second golf cart ride back up on top of hill to our Bahamian beach house, fully equipped, accommodating 4 adults and 4 kids... in ground private pool, nice extra touch! Governors Harbour is a real cool village just down on the other side of the hill. Grocery store, hardware store, ATM, three of four spots to get the local brew, Kalik , a Goombay Smash or the Bucaneer at the Bucaneer... perfect. I nice little coffee shop too. Tippys (famous Eleuthera eating spot) is just down Banks Rd for a great night out. The harbor is also very cool, local fish can be purchased at the pier. Just an awesome spot! Kathy & Tom have really done a great job with their properties on to of the hill... real sweet spot! I am booking my week for next year right after I finish this post! There are a few homes to choose from up on the hill and they are all full, there are more options around the area... Eleuthera is fantastic!

We enjoyed our stay at the yellow house a great deal. Eleuthera was as charming as in our memories but a bit more chilly than usual and the surf was surprisingly rough. That’s why a heated pool would have been appreciated. I believe it is in the owner’s plans and will make sure it is functional next time around if we return during the colder months. Definitely, a house I would recommend without hesitation.

Beautiful home -- beautifully maintained!
Kathy and Bob Colman's Yellow House is a delightful property with a tasteful interior, ample bedrooms with large bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen. And it comes with its own 6-person golf cart which we used a lot! The walk to town is easy, and the walk (or golf cart ride) to French Leave Beach is too. We highly recommend it!

We just arrived home from a wonderful week's stay at the Yellow House. Cathy was a great host with great recommendations and homemade lasagna and wine to welcome us on our first night. The house perfectly suited our group which consisted of four couples with an en suite bathroom in each spacious bedroom. We greatly enjoyed eating breakfast out by the pool in the morning and dining in the beautifully decorated great room in the evenings. The kitchen was one of the most well-equipped kitchens we have encountered in years of renting vacation homes. The laundry hut was a great extra along with the outdoor shower. We made great use of the beach chairs, floats, and umbrellas on our many visits to French Leave Beach which was a short walk or quick drive from the house. We were also able to walk into town. Recommendations: visit Fish Fry on Friday night for rum bubbas, conch salad, and fried fish; go on a charter with Manex and Ton of Coco Loba tours to catch your own fish and lobsters for dinner; enjoy conch fritters at the Buccaneer Club; have a beer seaside at Tippy's; take a trip to Rock Sound grocery store for all of your provisions; grab lunch at Banks Road Deli; get fresh bread and cinnamon buns at Island Farm on Tuesdays and Fridays (get there early!). This was a wonderful trip made that way by our great vacation home!

We just arrived home from a wonderful week's stay at the Yellow House. Cathy was a great host with great recommendations and homemade lasagna and wine to welcome us on our first night. Recommendations: visit Fish Fry on Friday night for rum bubbas, conch salad, and fried fish; go on a charter with Manex and Ton of Coco Loba tours to catch your own fish and lobsters for dinner; enjoy conch fritters at the Buccaneer Club; have a beer seaside at Tippy's; take a trip to Rock Sound grocery store for all of your provisions; grab lunch at Banks Road Deli; get fresh bread and cinnamon buns at Island Farm on Tuesdays and Fridays (get there early!). This was a wonderful trip made that way by our great vacation home!

My extended family rented Yellow House and Sweet Corn House for 2 weeks over the holiday. We had 17 people total, ranging from 18 months to 85 years old, with parents, grown children, and teenagers in between. The houses are fabulous--well laid out with comfortable spaces to hang out, both inside and out; spacious bedrooms with nice bedding, comfortable mattresses, ensuite baths and individual air conditioning units; a well stocked kitchen; and inviting decor. Governor's Estates is ideally located at the top of the hill--to the west down the hill is an exquisite 3 mile long beach on the Atlantic coast, to the east down the hill is the small town of Governor's Harbour with a cafe/bar, a coffee shop, 2 small grocery stories, a bank, a gas station, and a couple of gift shops. Kathy and Bob are gracious hosts. They welcomed us with dinner and wine the first night, let us harvest greens from their garden, and provided insider tips on where to eat, shop, and hang out on the island. Matt, the rental agent, made the rental arrangements and travel planning effortless. We met wonderful people, enjoyed a snorkeling trip off Harbour Island, cliff jumped (even my 80 year old mother) off the rocks at Cupid's Cay, drove south to Lighthouse Beach and the blue hole, walked the Leon Levy nature preserve (just down the street), partied at the Friday night fish fry, queued up to make sure we were able to get freshly baked break and newly harvested produce from the Island Farm (a must), dined at Tippy's, Bacchus Fine Foods, and 1648; and frequented the Buccaneer Club for breakfast, lunch and dinner multiple times. It was the perfect blend--all the comforts of home in a beautiful natural paradise. Couldn't have imagined anything better.

fantastic stay!
What a trip! 4 families, 17 people in total, rented three properties within the Governors Estates (Yellow House, Sweet Corn and Peach House). Everything was wonderful: the houses were spotless, well equipped and the beds very comfortable. The whole process was easy, from renting the properties through Matt Simon, to meeting Kathy, the owner, who was so sweet to make lasagna for us the first day (and she had cold beers in the fridge too!) and who was there with any question or small issues that came up! For example, the gas grill outside was not working, next thing you know, a brand new BBQ is being delivered to the house! All over, we can only recommend these properties. We will for sure be back!!

Just about 45 minutes to an hour to both the northern ans southern tips of the island. This property is located on top of the hill in this quaint little town and within walking distance to the beach and local stores.
The views from the roof deck and balconies were wonderful. The Stars were spectacular and the sound of the rolling waves from the beach made this setting everything we expected.
I would highly recommend the Colmans properties should you stay on this island.
We shopped at local farm and produce stands, tried all the local restaurants, and enjoyed the full kitchen and home cooked meals during our stay. The kitchen has everything you need!
Beaches - Unbelievable! Within 10 minutes there are a handful of beaches that are breathtaking and the best we have ever visited in the islands.
We will be returning to this property at some point and agree that this was one of our best vacations ever!

Wonderful Stay

Awesome Times at Governer's Estate
We just got back from a one week stay. Our party of 18 took over all three properties (Yellow House, Tops, Sweet Corn) for a 50th birthday celebration and in a word is was AWESOME!. This is our third trip to the island and our second stay at Yellow House. We can't wait to get back. Kathy and Bob Colman can't do enough to create the perfect trip for you. From arranging chefs at the house to making dinner suggestions, they take your trip to the next level. Once again, another unforgettable vacation at Yellow House, Sweet Corn and Tops. Beautifully furnished home in idyllic setting
Yellow House is an incredible property and perfect for traveling families or a small friendly group. This home is perched high on the hill above Governor's Harbour village (Caribbean side of the island) and one of the world's best beaches (Atlantic side, French Leave Beach, amazing swimming/snorkeling). The home is fully outfitted (private pool, gourmet kitchen with grill, separate laundry hut, etc) and beautifully furnished. The owners live nearby, are kind and lovely people, and are highly responsive to any guest needs. Location is great for access to a number of restaurants (can walk down the beach to the Beach House Bar), Island Farm for organic veggies and fresh bread, and the Friday night Fish Fry (a must do). We will definitely be back!

Simply Paradise - relaxing, gorgeous and welcoming
Matt and Tara were great & very helpful prior to booking & throughout the trip. I would definitely book w Eleuthera Vacation Rentals again.
The Yellow House is breathtaking! The pictures do not do it justice, Kathy and Bob did an amazing job with the home. Everyone in our group loved the house & wants to return. We were a group of 8, four couples. Kathy is just simply AMAZING, she is so warm, welcoming & accommodating, we cannot thank her enough. We stayed at the yellow house for one week.
Eleuthera is beautiful, non-touristic, very safe, the perfect vacation for a family or couples looking to relax. The natives are very nice & helpful. The food was great. We mostly cooked, groceries & gas are expensive but it was all worth it. We ate out at the Buccaneer, down the street from the house, it was delicious. While there you must buy local fish & lobster from the fishermen. Eat conch and grouper. Some of our group also ate at Tippys, it was delicious but a little pricey.
We visited many beaches, all beautiful and secluded, we always felt like the only ones on the island. French leave is a short distance from house, light pink sand & beautiful. Twin Cove is great for pictures, adventurous car ride to get there but worth the gorgeous views. CocoDiMama & Ten Bay Beaches are about 20 mins from the house on the Caribbean side, shallow, clear waters, serene, perfect for snorkeling. Both of these beaches had sandbars during low tide, just breath taking.
We took one day trip, saw preachers cave & the glass water bridge (worth the drive). Our goal was harbor island but we took a wrong turn & ended up in Spanish Wells. It worked out just fine, spanish wells island was beautiful & the prices were better than on the "mainland". We went to the sand bar and that was gorgeous. We rented golf carts to explore the little island, it was a lot of fun. We need to visit again (& stay at one of Kathy's properties) to go to harbor island since we did not get the chance to go. The fish fry is a lot of fun, good cheap food, good music, great drinks, & lots of locals to talk to.
We hired private chefs for the 30th bday, it was well worth the money, the food was amazing & the ladies were a lot of fun. We stayed at the pool 2 days, it made meals easy and relaxing. Tips: Rent a car, bring cash, & a lot of bug spray. Downsides: the no-see-ums and trip was too short.
Overall we loved the Yellow House and Highly recc it. Thanks Kathy and Matt you are the best!

Beautiful House for a family vacation!
We spent a week in the Yellow House for our family spring break vacation. My husband and I, plus our 2 teenagers (15 & 16) and a 3 year old. What a wonderful location. The house is huge, well decorated and well maintained. It has all the amenities you would want for your trip: Washer/Dryer, Pool, Grill, Roof Deck, Hammock, bathrooms for each bedroom, etc. There are even some beech toys and chairs to use during your stay.
Kathy was also amazingly hospitable. She provided us with a meal to eat on our arrival day...which was not only convenient, but delicious. She also stopped by each day to check on us AND, answered any questions via email or live to make sure we had everything we needed. Thanks Kathy!
Eleuthera is a great island. It was a pleasant change for our Chicago family. It has one highway from end to end. We drove South for boating tours (thank you Capitain Bubba at Fishbone tours...a great experience with star fish, turtles, snorkeling and conch shells) and scuba diving (thank you Al at Ocean Fox Cotton Bay). We drove North and took the water taxi to Harbour Island...beautiful and fun for the kids to drive their golf carts around. We bought some groceries and cooked at home, but when we did go out, our favorite restaurants were: Tippys...a bit pricey, but you pay for good food and an AMAZING view. The Rainbow Inn was quite fun with their live music...and we watched the sunset. Sky Beach Club was a fun afternoon of swimming in their infinity pool and a really good dinner. Our 3 year old danced at the Fish Fry on Friday night.
Overall, a wonderful trip. We hope to be back one day!!!

Practically perfect in every way!
Our group of 9 (3 couples, 3 kids) stayed for a week at the Yellow House and could not have enjoyed it more. The photos almost don't do the place justice. It is well-designed to be that perfect combination of polished and comfortable that makes it a terrific place to kick back and relax. All the amenities were just as described and in terrific condition. The kitchen was large and well-equipped and we made very good use of it.
Kathy met us when we arrived with a warm, informative welcome and then checked in a few more times throughout the week. It was great having her so close by.
The one thing I wasn't quite prepared for was the height of the hill the house is on. Or, more specifically, the steepness of the hill to town. It's definitely walkable, but we were certainly happy to have rented a car as it made trips for groceries, etc, much more manageable. To reach French Leave beach, we were happy to walk the 10 minutes or so in the other direction to reach one of the most beautiful, unpopulated beaches I've ever been on.
Having a car in general is a great idea because it gives you the freedom to explore the rest of the island. There are great beaches almost everywhere you turn. We loved being a short drive away from Island Farm, where we bought terrific vegetables, many grown on the island, which is a welcome change from other islands we've visited. There are grocery stores in GH, but a 40-minute (or so) drive to the Marketplace in Rock Sound, is worth it to pick up some of the things you might want that the store in GH don't carry. We stopped off at the dock in Tarpum Bay on the way back to pick uip fresh-caught fish and lobsters for the grill.
We didn't eat out too much during our stay, preferring to make use of the terrific kitchen at the house. A few lunches at the Beach House on French Leave were spot-on. Barbecue at Stubbs in James Cistern was a great experience, as was the Fish Fry in town on Friday night.
Would I recommend the Yellow House to a friend or relative? (That's one of the questions I'm supposed to answer in this review.) Definitely, as long as they weren't trying to book it for the same time as I was. But if they were trying to squeeze me out? No way!
