We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the peace and luxury we found at Su’s Place. Set in Su and Garry’s wonderful garden, it had everything we needed including a most comfortable bed with lovely linen. An amazing view across Mt Gambier was a bonus — a must-see spot for a quiet glass of wine in the evening ……. K

Sue has set up a fantastic place at the back of her beautiful backyard. Place was very clean and thoughtfully decorated. Very quiet area, with great walks accessible just at the back fence. Kitchenette is well set up and even though there is no hot plate, there is supplied a good quality electric frying pan, so we could still have a cooked breakfast on top of the wonderful breakfast supplies already at hand! Would happily have another weekend here again and hope we can one day.

Sue & Garry were wonderful hosts - they saw to all our needs and were very friendly without being intrusive. The quality of the unit, it’s linen, and furnishings is first class, and the little touches like fresh flowers and ample breakfast supplies were very welcome. Located adjoining a big green space, a short walk to Valley Lake, and set in a beautiful tranquil garden, Sue’s retreat receives our highest recommendation.

Sues Retreat was the perfect place to base ourselves while in Mt Gambier. Its in a peaceful part of the Mount, close to everywhere we needed to be. Everything was supplied that we might need, including breakfast, which was much appreciated. Sue and her family and friends were very welcoming and we enjoyed our chats under the carport!

We had a very restful time at Sue’s Retreat. The property is very unique as it backs onto beautiful parkland / bush with views of the Blue Lake District. Everything was immaculately clean & beautifully presented with outdoor seating overlooking the township & Sue’s gorgeous garden. Sue & Garry were both warm & welcoming and provided us with everything required to ensure a comfortable stay. We really appreciated the abundant choice of breakfast provisions including fresh fruit & real milk 🙂 Sue’s property is in a quiet & well presented neighbourhood and only 5 mins drive to the town centre. I don’t actually want to tell everyone how good this property and property manager are because when I go back to Mt Gambier it will be booked out. No only joking this was a fantastic stay and I really enjoyed it. Very very clean and a great location. Thoroughly recommend this property.

The apartment is five-star! Spacious, private, spotlessly clean, with quality furnishings and linen. A/C and ceiling fans. Elevated position gives you a view over Mount Gambier and immediate access to the countryside literally at your back gate. The hosts, Sue and Garry, were helpful and very nice.

The star review says it all. Couldn’t fault anything. Value for money.

Convenient, clean, nice hosts

An excellent place to stay in Mount Gambier and Sue was a lovely host. BUT the check in via HomeAWay was clunky. We might still be waiting for assistance if Sue hadn't simply approached us and sorted things out.

Away from the main highway, but still close to everything, I had a blissfully quiet rest. The accommodation was roomy, with wonderful views looking out over Mt Gambier. My host Sue was welcoming and I enjoyed the variety of fruit for breakfast. Definitely recommend Sue's Retreat

Cleanliness, very spacious and all the little extras. Example: chocolates, mints, fresh fruit and cereal's, toiletries magazines local information, & especially the friendliness of the owners. Very peaceful. Will definitely stay at Sue's retreat when visiting the Mount.

Backs up against a park with access from the property. Nice views over town. No stovetop, but there is an electric skillet.

Sue was a super lovely host. She welcomed my husband and I on our arrival and provided recommendations on the local area when asked. The place is cozy and warm with beautiful views. Central to everything with great walking trails right from the back gate.
