This was a great place to stay for some seclusion. We loved the fire pit and how many stars you can see there. It had everything you could need to be comfortable for a few days. Very comfortable bed and pretty well set up kitchen.

Loved the privacy from the back door. The house was cozy and easily accessible to all parts of the Island. We didn’t realize how close our neighbors would be. All said it was a beautiful place Thanks

Overall a great property. Comfortable and very quiet. Lots of wildlife to see including bunnies and grouse. Only a couple of minor problems. Main entrance to property is hard to find. Only one small microwave safe bowl, nothing else was safe for use in the microwave. Lastly there was a kurig coffee maker but no mention of bringing your own k- cups.

It was a quaint and cute place. Perfect for a weekend getaway!

Absolutely stellar accommodations, fit our needs completely! We spent a good portion of our time exploring the local sights/scene but getting back was a breeze.
While weather didn’t really permit the use of the fire pit (due to precipitation/allergies), this was exactly the type of location/facility that my wife and I needed!!!

Perfect getaway for a couple who want to relax and have some down time. Close to beaches and local restaurants. Our second time and we will be back again!

We really enjoyed our stay in this house! Very clean, easy to find and we had everything we needed. A little cold when we got there but it warmed up great after just a few minutes. We’ll definitely stay here again when we’re back on the island!

When you give the key lockbox code, tell them where the lockbox is located: for example on the post across from the door.

This was a great little weekend getaway to a quiet and cozy guest house. The property was easy to get to and a quick drive to neighboring Coupeville and Freeland.

The setting was treed and quiet. The cabin was tasteful and well-stocked. I would live here. It’s great.

Was perfect for just what we needed, A little quiet time away from the city near the water.
It is on someone’s property but it is secluded and away from the main house where there is plenty of privacy!
I would definitely stay here again!

I appreciated how this place wasn't too far away from everything. Felt very private, on a corner of the property surrounded by trees.

Great little place, with everything we needed. Secluded and very clean. It cost a tad bit more than we would have liked, but other than that it was great.

Very private, clean and perfect for a few nights. We were visiting relatives and had no need for cooking facilities so the appointments were fine. Would have liked a little more light in the bedroom but we are old and need light to see in our suitcases.

Cute place near Freeland. We enjoyed the backyard (although a little buggy!) and the peace and quiet. Nice location for a bike ride, heading to the beach or nearby town. Only disappointment was lack of soap for bathing and a non satisfying response that it is not standard to be provided (Although every other place I have stayed in does, they did provide shampoo and conditioner)

Rented on the 2 hottest nights so far this summer. No AC and only a ceiling fan that you couldn’t feel. Very hot. Would have helped to have an extra fan. Could have left the French doors open but there was no screen so bugs, mosquitoes were flying in so had to leave them closed. On cool nights wouldn’t be a problem. Lovely spot, still had a fun stay.

When another nearby rental (Charming Tiny House on Private 5 Acres hosted by Corinne) cancelled the reservation we made four months in advance (a not so charming experience), we booked this place because it was available. Here are some observations future renters may find useful:
A small cottage set well back from Smugglers Cove Road, this rental shares a 7-acre property with a detached garage and two other houses (occupied by a scarce yet genial owner). The cottage is tucked to one side of the property and surrounded by woods on three sides, so despite the other houses, it still feels private.
The photos in the listing appear to be recent and they are an accurate representation of the rental. The bedroom and bathroom were comfortable and functional. There were plenty of places to put our stuff: a bureau, armoire, luggage stands (yay), bedside tables, and a number of hooks. There was ample lighting: bedside, floor, and overhead, plus free, easily reached outlets for charging devices. The wi-fi was better than other places we’ve stayed on the island. The mattress was comfortable and the pillows were soft but not too soft. The bathroom had counter space, lots of hooks, and a walk-in shower. By far the cottage’s best feature is the French doors that open from the bedroom on to a private deck and grassy area with a fire pit.
The kitchen, with fridge, stacked washer/dryer, and bar-height table all located immediately inside the front door, was less functional. Thinking about it now, we should have used the backdoor, then we could’ve stored our coats and shoes in the bedroom, instead of in front of the fridge. There were enough dishes and a better assortment of pots and pans than many rentals (a big stock pot!). Though some of the pots, pans, and utensils needed to be washed before we could use them. The kitchen sink is a deep utility sink, which was odd, but better than a shallow 2-basin sink. The two-burner hot plate and toaster worked fine. We didn’t use any of the other appliances. An outdoor gas grill would’ve been nice.
The cottage’s biggest drawback is the lack of a lounging area, which was why we didn’t rent it to begin with. The bedroom has one easy chair and one small ottoman. Incorporating a second chair and small side table would up the comfort and functionality considerably.
Overall, our favorite thing about the cottage was the QUIET. There is no other development nearby, you can’t hear the traffic on Smugglers Cove Road, and the 650-acre Trillium Forest land trust lies just beyond the property (be prepared to bushwhack to get to established trails).
We stayed 5 nights and would rent the cottage again, but because of the kitchen and the lack of a “living room”, we’d probably opt for 3 nights or fewer the second time around.

Overall, we loved our stay here. It's a beautiful little jewel box of a house in a beautiful field adjacent to the owner's house and behind their large shed. Kitchen supplies were adequate, the place was clean and looked brand new, with a comfy, spacious, warm bed, great TV, clean bathroom. Strangely, when we requested more toilet paper for our three-day stay, Vacasa responded that they only provide a "starter amount," and we would be required to provide any further toilet paper if we needed it. Fortunately, we ran across the owner when he stopped by to admire my husband's scooter, and he gladly provided us with more toilet paper!
We enjoyed an evening fire in the outdoor firepit (remembered to bring our own firewood); I would just recommend that the house add screens. The house heated up with the shower and hot weather, but we didn't want to leave doors open to avoid mosquitoes.

ROMANTIC GET-AWAY YOU NEED NOW!
This was EXACTLY as advertised. It rained all weekend and we didn't care.

Nice and quiet
The property was great, private, and peaceful. The only thing I would suggest is possibly having Orkin or another company spray the property for Carpenter Ants. There were quite a bit that were out and about on the floors, wish some on the walls, and some on the side dressers. Other than that, it was great.

Peaceful time away
Cozy cabin - kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom on a grassy area. Tucked away from the only visible house, the windows and deck open onto a lawn before the forest. No traffic noise - a wonderful place to take a breath and relax for a few days.

Great retreat house
Overall, I had a nice quiet stay at this cozy cabin. Didn't realize from the pictures that this was a part of a larger property with the main house on the property, but it didn't bother my stay, so no worries. Four stars because some of the kitchen utensils could use a refresh - the can opener was completely rusted and the knives were dull. Overall, a great place for a quiet retreat.
