It’s a wonderful experience for my wife and me to stay in Papa Rhein. Papa is the closest hotel to the waterfront. Especially, our mini suite has 180 degree and great view to the Rhein. The room is neat with proper size. The breakfast provides high quality foods, fruits and drinks. One of the best things is the ferry is just nearby the hotel. You can go to the opposite bank, the famous wine town Rudesheim, in 10 minutes.

There is no water boiler in the room.

quite unkind and unpersonal services, packed pool area at the nice lido deck with all chairs reserved with towels, despite no people to be seen. breakfast with long lines for coffee and limited offer. rooms are rather cheap and plastic chic. we enjoyed a view to some unkempt parking lot area with steel containers, which might belong to the concept.

Beautiful facility and socially conscious standards. friendly environment for couples and for families. The location is perfect right off of the water with ample parking spaces and views to die for! Delicious breakfast!!

The air conditioning was not very cold, typically in Germany this would not be a problem but on the specific date of our travel it was unusually warm. Directions on how to use the air conditioner would fix that, no problem.

I didn’t like my view from the room overlooking the car park. I liked that it had air conditioning. The breakfasts were very good the bar service was nice and friendly. The spa pool and area were good.

not enough Coffeemakers at breakfast buffet. not enough glutenfree bread/pastry options no spa treatment slot available upon arrival ( I know that you want people to book early , but still ) impossible to book diner at 20 pm ( eather restaurant ) even though we responded immediatly to your mail suggesting us to reserve a table) pool much too small for a « wellness »-hotel

Location, the hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are well appointed. comfortable beds. Nice breakfast, nice food.

My feeling is the hotel is set up more for the convenience of the staff and not the guests. Both bars were closed for the whole of our stay, who has ever heard of that in a hotel? The first night there was a sign in the main bar saying the bar was closed Monday and Tuesday. My partner asked at reception on Tuesday (after the sign was removed) and was told very rudely that the bar was closed till NYE. As someone else commented here, the self service bar was also badly stocked. You could order drinks with meals from the restaurant staff but the heart of a good hotel is the bar area! Breakfast was good with good choice, but having 1 drinks machine to service everyone is a disaster, the queues were really long. A small tip also, a buffet breakfast is totally acceptable but if you want to compete as a good class hotel then serve good coffee to your guests by staff made by a proper machine. Restaurant staff very good and polite. Reception staff were not very friendly and sometimes quite rude. We ate both nights in the restaurant but be warned, you need to book early otherwise you won’t get a table. We tried to book the day before arrival and were told there are 2 dinner sittings 20.30 & 17.30! unfortunately we had to eat both evenings at 17.30. Again if you want to charge top prices then you need to offer your customers choice. Who would choose to eat dinner at 17.30? unless you have small children perhaps.

Breakfast was amazing and included in the room fare. Staff were unbelievably friendly and it has been such a pleasure to stay here. Can’t wait to book our next ‘staycation’ here in Bingen!

The staff is not friendly and very unprofessional. They make many mistakes with serving the dinner that makes you feel that they are not really enjoy what they are doing.

Not customer oriented staff. Long waiting lines, from breakfast to checkin everything took very long, due to lack of staff and low budget.

+ Positive: Breakfast was the only highlight of this hotel. Included in the room price with a good selection of food, good drink selection, hard cooked scrambled eggs, salmon, brochen, wurst, cheese slices, etc. +2x Coffee / Hot Chocolate machines. + Great view of the Rhine River from almost every room. + Quiet flushing toilet in the room and + walk-in shower. +/- Disabled: 2x Elevator and stairs. + Elevator takes one directly from every floor to the Reception, Outdoor wellness area / roof swimming pool, and basement indoor wellness area / indoor swimming pool. + Wi-Fi: + Working Fine.

- Negative: Reception Counter hard to hear over the noise in the lobby. - Check-out took forever (that is why they always had a line at the hotel reception counter) and Housekeeping was already in our room while we were at breakfast and before we checked out! - No signage in Bingen showing the way to the hotel. - Elevator control buttons do not match the signage. E.g. floors ‘-1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4’ and then the elevator signage states ‘B’? - Hotel grounds and outdoor areas are still not finished. - Outside hotel is still a construction zone. - Flat Screen Colored TV with limited (only German) Channels: Only about 10 German TV channels, some of which function and some of which the reception was terrible. – Room bathroom sink sprays one when turned on. - The water falls into the sink just at the right angle and then sprays back out at the guest. - Window between room and bathroom? Modern but impracticable. - Parking: First one must park where ever and then get a parking ticket for the other parking lot at the reception. Then get another parking ticket to get out of the parking lot, each time waiting in the line at the Hotel counter to get a ticket and each time being ask why we need a parking or exit parking ticket. When leaving the parking lot, just try to hold the ticket over the scanner while parked at a 45% angle, very hard! - Wellness: + Swimming Pool is OK. - Sauna is in the nude area. - There are not enough lounge chairs and not enough room for them in the space provided to use them. The lounge chairs are set at an angle because there is not enough room for them and so set that anyone with their feet over the end are bumped by people passing by. - Outdoor wellness area and pool area is complete shutdown.
