Great little A Frame Cottage about a block from one of Arrowhead Lake's many beaches and a short drive to the Island rental shack where you can rent kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, bikes. Cottage kitchen was well-appointed with everything needed to cook a real meal. Beds were comfortable and easily sleep six. Both bedrooms have TVs and large living room/dining room area has a large TV with Netflix, Amazon, etc. The small screened in porch in the back seats a couple of people or leave the back door open to create a cool evening breeze. Enjoyed the gym in The Lodge a few minutes away. The Lodge also includes an adult billiards room, library with many book choices, deck with tables and chairs, and a large community room with multiple planned events. The lake is large and renting kayaks, canoe, and paddleboard is $20 per two hours and includes life jackets. Mini-golf, driving range, bumper cars, and arcade are about a 10 minute drive from the cabin, outside the Arrowhead Lake Community gates. There are several restaurants within 10-15 minute drive or cook at home and bring up your already prepared meals to cook in the nicely sized kitchen. The large dining room table was a great place for family game night! Much of the cottage matched the pictures exactly.

The bedrooms and bathroom were missing the bright paisley fabrics depicted in the pictures. The bedrooms had no comforters at all, only a heavy winter blanket in the closet. This did make sleeping less comfortable. The first floor bedroom also only had one pancake like pillow. So you might want to bring your own pillow and a light comforter if you like elevating your head or covering yourself with more than a single sheet for your summertime sleep. Also beware that there is a daily activity fee assessed for each person renting. The fee covers use of The Lodge, upkeep of the many lake beaches, four pools, etc. The payment of the fees goes to the Community Association rather than Booking.Com, the owner, or Evolve Management. I received multiple conflicting emails with different pricing for the activity fees. The owner arranges payment of the community fees with the Arrowhead Lake Community Association. The confusion led to an extra $15 charge for bringing in multiple cars even though we only brought in one car and the first car was supposed to be free. We booked at the last minute and there was not enough time to rectify the discrepancy and we just paid it. If this type of discrepancy is important to you, I recommend making sure you confirm the fees prior to needing to pay them without surcharge (at least five days prior to arrival).

Liked the size and the peacefulness. Liked the pool and access to the lake, nothing was crowded.

The furniture was a bit uncomfortable. The light fixtures were all dim, so it made the whole house dark.
