In general, this is an absolutely wonderful place, very beautiful! The location is gorgeous. A magical river with Manatees right at the house. We would love to come back here for a week or more, but it is impossible to sleep on that bed, the hostess needs to do something about it:) in any case, we are very happy with our stay. Actually, this is not a house, as it’s described here on Booking. And Booking misleads people. There is not a single word written here about the fact that this is essentially 1/3 of the house on the lower floor (by the way, the hostess herself lives on the 2nd floor). So this is an apartment and you need to describe it in the description, then there will be no questions about it. We rented a house and came to the house and therefore at first we were upset that it was not a house, although we rented a house :))). In general, everything was fine, except that we expected that this house would be completely at our disposal. If we knew in advance that this is an apartment on the 1st floor of the house, then our plans and expectations would be appropriate. One room in this apartment was closed for repairs and we were also not warned about this. If we wanted to take a couple of friends with us at the last moment, they would have no place to stay. The bed in our bedroom was very very small, something like a twin for people of very small stature. We are quite fit and we were very cramped, sleeping on our sides, snuggled up to each other:) the mattress is very uncomfortable, as are the pillows. You can endure it for 2-3 days, although then your neck and back hurt terribly…

Amazing setting. Weeki Wachee is a beautiful crystal clear natural spring, and the manatees were plentiful. Probably saw 20-30 manatees in three days. Momma manatee and what had to be a tiny newborn once. It was very easy and problem free to use one of the kayaks the host provides and just simply paddle off up or down river. Two full size beds and a daybed on the lanai. Plenty of fridge space and cooking amenities, minus an oven, sink for kitchen is camp style and located outside. Lost of comfortable seating outside to sit and watch nature and all the kayakers paddle by. Absolutely adorable little house that host has lovingly hand painted hand painted throughout, and whimsical little touches of bejeweled and glittered decor. The outside decking looks as if maybe a magical mermaid has shed some scales. At night, we saw lightning bugs in the trees across the little river (no houses opposite) hears both great horned owls as well as eastern screech owls (who cooks for you is what their call sounds like), and the sounds of cicadas and tree frogs. All kinds of other birds, some I couldn’t even name. There were a lot of butterflies drawn to property to the flowers planted in yard. Bathroom is large and accommodating. Our dog was welcome, the yard fully fenced, but we had to be vigilant because the river right there, and the current is strong in front of the sea-wall at the back of the property. Lots of towels and utensils, and most of your time should be spent outside on the deck overlooking the Weeki Wachee. There is also a swim ladder and steps and I found just jumping right into the refreshing river for a quick swim easy and hassle free. Most Quito’s were not too bad, but bug spray might be a good idea. Overall, loved this little house, and my all adult party with two elderly people enjoyed their stay here.

Sink situation, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I would just advise don’t plan elaborate meals that will leave you with a bunch of dishes, and bring disposable cups and plates and utensils.

The host was awesome, the property was beautiful and they provided everything we needed.
