Historic Family Style Homestead Cabin

Great little cabin with some history in the Swan Valley. The cabin was clean, and our host, Andy, was fantastic and fun to chat with. The view off the front
porch is very scenic, and we often saw wildlife (deer, wild turkeys, sandhill cranes) in the area. We will definitely return in the future.

It was great. Got out and rode in to glacier but it wasn’t any prettier than here at meadowland ranch. ❤️

We absolutely loved our stay! Ten stars across the board.

First off, this area is absolutely gorgeous + Andy was able to guide us on where to go in the Swan Valley. My group even stayed home one day just to experience the views that the cabin and property has to offer.
Andy was incredibly helpful and responsive and helped with anything we needed. Firewood was left out for us and kitchen was well stocked.
Only downside was the bugs but no one can control that!

Relaxing stay and a chance to take a deep breath and slow down. The views are absolutely priceless. Sad to leave but we know we will be back.

Everything was more than great. The view, the area, that’s why I keep coming back. The host Andy makes you feel welcome and treats you like family. I’m always sad to leave.

We had the most peaceful and relaxing stay at the homestead cabin. The views were unreal and the cabin was so cozy. Exactly what we were looking for! Andy was a great host!

Took a long weekend away from bustling Kalispell. The cabin was exactly as pictured and the setting prettier than a picture. The gas woodstove was much appreciated and easy to use. The cabin seems well insulated and held the right temps morning and night. Great central location to explore the Swan Valley. Condon Community Church is just a few minutes away and is very friendly and welcoming. Andy and his wife are very sweet, genuine and thoughtful - as is his darling momma. We were very blessed to see the Northern Lights for two nights of our stay. A very memorable birthday and Mother’s Day!

Cozy little cabin with a surprising amount of space and a glorious view across a meadow towards snow-capped mountains. Didn't see or need the property manager, but they were just a phone call away. Loved it.

Best birthday yet. The location, fascinating history, PERFECT picturesque coffee sippin mountain gazin front porch, fireplace, comfortable beds, trails at the door and privacy…made it really challenging to leave. And best of all - the genuine kindness of the hosts and their intentional nostalgic decor and little comforts placed throughout make you feel immediately welcomed as if you’re family. There’s an old favorite book floating around for everyone topped with all of the favorite classic board games.
If you’re looking for a reset, a getaway from technology and a reminder to replace screens with moments of being present with those you love, then this place is for you.
I’m already planning our next stay and I’m just so grateful to have found this gem. Thank you for sharing it all, Andy and fam. 100/100.

We enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. It is possibly the only place I have stayed that had enough pillows. Location is perfection and we hope to return in the warmer months to explore the area.

Andy was super friendly and helpful! Cabin was quaint and had everything we could have needed, great location!

Cute cabin in a great location. It is very cozy and having the propane fireplace makes for a nice rustic ambiance. We are mid 60’s to early seventies so the steep stairs to the loft sleeping area posed a slight challenge but we made do. We’ve stayed at other properties at this location and Andy is always gracious, accommodating, and communicative.

If you are one who values peace and quiet, this is the place to come and soak it up. Truly a restful experience in this idyllic mountain setting.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a Great Grey Owl. My husband and I are photographers, and we couldn't even begin to unload our gear due to having this rare photo opportunity.
After a bit, our host appeared. This was the beginning of what is going to be a long friendship. Every good thing that has been written about Andy is true. He is the stellar example of what a host should be.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay; it went way beyond our expectations.
A photographer's paradise, slow pace and quiet, bring your own food to cook on site or, enjoy an awesome meal prepared at the Mercantile just down the road.
There are lakes to discover and trails to hike. Plan on staying as long as you can because it is worth it!
P.S. Andy likes quiche.

Upon our arrival, the sun was setting over the mountains turning the Montana big sky into an incredible welcome present for us. We jumped out of the car with cameras poised and stood there in awe taking it all in until it was all over. Was just stunning! Shortly thereafter, host Andy stopped in to welcome us and give us some awesome ideas for local outdoor adventures, which we did all of them and had a fantastic time! Each morning we bundled up and sat outside on the front porch with our coffee to watch the meadow come alive and the horses graze in the distance. Was absolutely lovely having no one else around and a vast view to ourselves to enjoy. In the evenings we sat around the campfire reminiscing about our days while keeping our feet nice and toasty. The cabin has a nice gas fireplace with a switch to instantly turn it on and off, which is a nice feature when you don't want to wait or have the hassle of building a fire! It also has a thermostat on it to kick on when the room gets to the temperature you set. The kitchen has a little bit of everything you need for cooking, including a microwave. Very practical and fun to be in a historical place where the most beauty is in the outdoor space! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful scenery from the cabin! Very quiet.
Cabin is warm and cozy!
Andy is great. I took his advice and went on a hike he suggested. He didn’t steer me wrong, it was a gorgeous hike and not touristy like the place I hard originally chosen. So glad I listened. Thank you Andy! I will definitely be back!

The Swan Valley is an incredibly beautiful area. This extensive ranch has 3 cabin rentals with plenty of privacy and room to roam. We were in the valley to kayak the numerous lakes and this cabin is a perfect location. Andy is a great host who will give you privacy or answer any of your questions. He is very knowledgeable about the people and history of this part of Montana. He was also very good at helping to make your stay comfortable.

This place was just right for us. We were personally greeted by the host, Andy, upon arriving. We were in the area visiting family. It was nice to have a comfortable and cozy retreat when we wanted time to ourselves. If you have never been to the area, you’ll fall in love with the scenic beauty of the mountains. It’s truly majestic. I was hooked on the mud pie at the Hungry Bear, the local restaurant. And you can get gas, groceries, and most anything else you need at the Merc. I recommend this cabin. It was a good value.

The property had beautiful views and was peaceful. It was close to Holland Falls and Holland Lake where we planned to spend a day. The cabin was basic which was expected and we were happy with it. It had a lot of interesting decor and books. Andy, the owner was really fun to talk to. He shared a lot of interesting information about the property, cabin and wildlife. We enjoyed his positive vibes!

We are repeat customers to the Homestead. The views are serene, the birds (especially the Great Gray Owls) and wildlife are spectacular, and the cabin is lovely. Andy is a wealth of knowledge if you just ask and is always readily available should there be problems...but really, what kind of problem can you possibly have, when you have all the rest!!! Close to a little store and great kayaking and hiking. We'll be back again!!!

The Homestead Cabin was rustic-ly lovely, with all the modern convenience's of home. The surrounding area was idyllic with a beautiful view of the meadow below, aspen trees fluttering in the breeze, and the majestic Mission mountains in the distance. It was the perfect country comfy place to meet up with my MI friend on her annual sojourn to her beloved home territory.

The Homstead cabin, property and host Andy was awesome! We stayed for 3 nights, enjoyed the beautiful landscape and did daily horse rides on the property and the adjoining Bob Marshall Wilderness. Andy was very gracious in accommodating, us, our dogs and horses. We are already looking forward to returning next year!

This Homestead was exactly what we needed.
Quiet and so many animals to watch!
We watched a squirrel store parts of the aphgan on the porch
in her pouches to keep her baby’s warm.
One word of advise, bring food! No food places within 60
miles are open in April. I recommend this to anyone
who wants to get to the quiet side of life.
Thank you Andy for being a perfect host!

Rented this property for my wife’s birthday. We loved the cabin and property. We will definitely stay again this summer. Loved that there was only WiFi and no tv so we’re able to unplug and enjoy the quiet cabin.

Andy was an AMAZING host, he was very helpful and friendly. He told us all about the history of the property, the surrounding area, and gave us recommendations on places that were good to check out. The cabin felt like a home away from home. It has a fun set up for kids in the loft, it took a lot of effort to get my kids to leave with how much they loved it! If you want a peaceful, cabin experience away from the hussel and bussel it is the place to go. The property had plenty of room to go on walks and explore, a good porch set up, and a fireplace that would be great to gather around with friends. We loved it so much we already booked another trip back.

A lovely view over a snow covered meadow and tucked back into the mountain. We enjoyed the cabins homey feel to it, and the open-ness when you walk in. The walls were covered with decorations and we kept looking for hidden gems. It was a nice stay in a quiet part of the world.
