La posizione è perfetta, inoltre la sera, nel pub, c'era musica dal vivo e ci siamo fermati a prendere una birretta. Molto carino
Lo staff non è stato per niente gentile, né accogliente. Inoltre, c'è scritto che davanti c'è un parcheggio gratuito dalle 14. Non è vero, il parcheggio è gratuito dalle 18 e l'ho saputo perché sono andata lì alle 15, una volta entrata e chiesto informazioni per il parcheggio, lo staff mi ha informato di questo cambiamento, non palesemente cambiato nella descrizione dell'alloggio su booking. Avevamo prenotato una camera matrimoniale e ne abbiamo ricevuta una con letti doppi separati.

The hotel was in a great location with easy access to the main historical sights. Check-in was easy and the team member was friendly and escorted me to my room. She showed me the various keys and clearly explained the access code for the security door.
The room was a compact size, nicely decorated and very clean. The single bed was comfortable and there was adequate storage. There was a supply of tea/coffee and a chocolate, some sweets and biscuits which was a nice welcome.
The plumbing was quite noisy but didn't interfere with the enjoyment of my stay. There was some general noise in the evenings from the bar downstairs but was to be expected. The hotel had supplied some earplugs but I had brought my own.
As it is an old building there are a number of stairs/landings to navigate. This was not a problem for me but would be if anyone has mobility issues.

Quick check-in process and run through how to get after hours. Happy to be able to get access earlier than expected too. The little extras in the room were also a bonus, who doesn't love a chocolate on a pillow!

La cama muy incómoda y con un colchón viejísimo.
La habitación muy ruidosa por el tráfico y sin un mínimo aislamiento.
La luz inunda la habitación desde las cinco y media de la mañana porque las cortinas no filtran nada.

It was very clean particularly the bathroom. The room was comfortable. The staff were welcoming.

Excellent place to visit the castle and cathedral and the old town, loved the room, yes a tad noisy from the road, but ear plugs provided.

Staff accogliente, ci ha aiutati anche con il parcheggio. La camera era meravigliosa, come anche la grandezza. Molto spaziosa, pulita e curata. Il letto morbido e comodo. Ho dormito bene.
Unica pecca che sono sicura si possa migliorare era la finestra, probabilmente era sottile e si sentiva tanto il rumore esterno. Sprovvisto di persiana o tapparella e la tenda non bastava per coprire la luce. Nonostante questo ci ritornerei volentieri 😊

Good location, clean and comfortable bed. Front desk staff were friendly. Over a good pub, but it wasn't noisy.
Very dim lightbulbs and the wifi in my room didn't work the entire stay. The desk people contacted the manager but I never got a response (although one person at the desk did a bit to try to get it going). If you have a problem at this property, I wouldn't expect it to be fixed - the management doesn't seem to be involved in daily activities. That being said, the bartenders did give me a couple of free pints and the wifi in the bar was working.

Great accommodation above a bar! The room was quite lovely, with a nice view out of the window and nice decorations inside the room. The welcoming sweets in the room were a nice touch. All amenities in the room was good. I could not ask for a better location. Felt very safe in the area. It is right in the area with restaurants, cafes, and shops. Walking distance from the train station as well. I would certainly stay here again on my next visit.

Everything was amazing, rooms fab, photos dont do this place justice. Staff were lovely and accommodating to make our friends birthday more special, planning a return visit later in the year 😀

Todella siisti ja hyvin pidetty, vuode oli todella mukava, tulen todellakin käyttämään uudesti tätä paikkaa, 5/5 loistava.
Huoneen alla on pubi ja sieltä kuului välillä ääniä mutta muuten en voi valittaa mistään.

It was clean and our room and bathroom were well designed and spacious, and we were welcomed.
We had so little sleep because of the noise from outside that we left after one night. I think this problem could be solved with triple glazing, but we just had the old sash windows. I don't know whether there is a problem with noise proofing the bedroom - e.g. that the building is listed as it is a lovely old building.

The location is amazing, the staff is lovely and extremely helpful! You feel very welcome at the hotel.
The room is nice and cosy, it has everything you need and looked very modern and renovated.
The only reason why I did not score a 10, is because the shower head was very dirty and it kind of put me off showering, but for a one night stay it did not affect me much.

The central location and the availability of reasonably priced parking. The drinks deals were amazing too. We had free beers and cheap shots. Also 2 for 1 cocktails!
The room (9) was spacious and comfortable but it fronts onto the main road which was obviously noisy. No complaints from me, I’d sleep in a clothes line but my partners a light sleeper. She was sleepless 🙈.

I asked for a quiet room, did not receive it, Parking was about 5-6 minutes away in a very secured (pay of parking) multi level garage. The room was extremely tiny ( I believe a jail cell is bigger) , the room had noise level issues. However I would return because of the location.

Very central and easy to get around. Room was clean and well laid out and beds were comfy
Room is above a noisy pub but ear plugs were provided and pub closed at midnight.
Toilet flushing (loud pipes) actually made more noise than the busy pub! And flushing went on all night.
There is a green fluorescent light strip above the bed that stayed on all night making it impossible to sleep. When I asked if it could be switched off so I could sleep. I was told it was in case of fire and had to be permanently switched on which meant I didn’t sleep for 4 days 😑

Very helpful, friendly staff. Organised an extra nights stay for us at very short notice. Excellent location in beautiful Durham. Lovely clean room, with excellent facilities and a lovely comfortable bed. Offered to look after our bags, should we have needed to leave them on check out. All in all, it was a very relaxing stay.

It was beautiful and so cozy! It was unexpected because its located on top of a bar, but it was just such a lovely room, very clean, great shower, excellent location, easy check in, just perfect.

Everything was absolutely brilliant location was perfect with excellent views beds were so comfortable,exceptional value for money staff were lovely and just all the hone comforts chocolates,sweets,just a perfect stay with extras thank you 😀
