The staff make this place. They are truly amazing and go out of their way to help you. The coffee tour is great and more in-depth tour than the one we did in Salento. Loved walking in and he hills of the vast coffee plantation. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful location with great hosts. Jorge and family made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived in Chinchina. He even organized a taxi to collect us from the bus. The coffee tour was very informative and we also visited the nearby Termales Santa Rosa de Cabal, as per Jorge's recommendation. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were great too. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is passing through the area!

The Hacienda Guayabal is a truly beautiful place. The care which Jorge and his family and staff take in everything they do is evident from the moment you make a booking. The location is glorious, with well-maintained rooms, incredible views and homely, carefully prepared and presented food. The tour of the farm is extremely interesting and very well explained by the guide.

Coffee tour was very! informative, Breakfast service was superb. Even though the property is outside the city George arranged very good transportation connections and even got us a discount on the bus to Medellin. The staff made this a comfortable and enjoyable place.

Could have had some more shelves for clothing, etc.

The room was large but pretty basic. No matter, I spent most of my time on the spacious verandah and walking around this coffee farm in some of the most beautiful countryside you are bound to find in Colombia. The coffee tour was thorough and extremely informative (I will never look at the beverage the same way again!). Above all, the hosts were amazing – we had a language barrier, but their warmth and welcome transcended all.

Small thing: I would have liked to have a bedside reading light (they kindly lent me a battery-powered one as a stopgap when I asked).

Wow, just wow! Beautiful place, great food, amazing views and fantastic people. They were all very friendly and caring. They even checked on us when we went to town to make sure we were fine. Jorge, Irene and the whole staff were great, they made us feel totally at home. I would highly recommend this piece of paradise for the peace and quiet it brings.

Nothing, the closest thing to perfection.

The property and the views are beautiful, and it's peaceful and feels in nature. The level of service offered was phenomenal. they went above and beyond with everything. I had personal transportation, so the location was perfect, more or less in the middle of all of the destinations I wanted to visit. If I return to the zona cafetera, I will definitely stay here again.

the whole reason to come here is the coffee farm, but the hotel portion is also really awesome. lunch and dinner are about $10, breakfast is included and the food is really good. hammock outside my room which I love. the views are stunning

Most outstanding service and warm-hearted owners

Hacienda Guayabal is a faboulous place. Conveniently located in the vicinity of Chinchina it is easily reachable by taxi. Jorge and his family do their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The coffee tour they offer was an unforgettable experience. Local guide Santiago who performs the tour is such a databank of information eager to provide insight into coffee production process. Truly recommendable!

We simply loved it. The staff was very welcoming (we heard “this is your home” several times and truly felt it) and helpful. Jorge ensured we had all the info we needed to get there and to get the right bus for the departure. The rooms are simple, but very clean and the bed it very comfortable. We loved waking up and having breakfast with a wonderful view of the coffee plants and colourful birds! Very nice pool and good food (with nice salads). The coffee tour with Santiago was truly the best tour we’ve ever done: it was very well structured, complete and hands-on, and off the very touristic Salento area (we were lucky to even have a private tour!). Santiago is a great teacher and knew the answer to all our questions. We will never drink coffee the same way anymore! Gracias Jorge, Irene, Juan-Juan y Santiago, ha sido un enorme placer!

Hacienda Guayabal is close to Chinchiná, in the heart of the Colombian Zona Cafetera. The property is a working coffee plantation, with accommodation provided in the main house and in standalone bungalows. The grounds are idyllic; many birds, fruit trees, a pool and games area. Our host, Jorge, was amazing - nothing was too much trouble and we felt spoilt. From helping us get from Medellin by bus, to organising our coffee tour and tasting, to organising a day trip to the PNN Los Nevados, to remembering our personal preferences at mealtimes, he was just perfect. The accommodation is quite basic and there is some cohabitation with nature, given the countryside setting, but none of this was a problem. Meals were good (breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided) and we availed also of the laundry service which was very efficient. The coffee tour is no miss, very educational, including the ability to pick coffee cherries in the fields. This has been our favourite accommodation experience in Colombia - highly recommend heading out of the cities for some countryside calm and to be thoroughly well looked after. We loved our stay at Hacienda Guayabal! The finca is set on a hillside with beautiful views of The Valley and an abundance of nature and bird life. The staff and hosts were amazing, they were really helpful and attentive and the food was great. The coffee farm tour was also excellent and Santiago was happy to share all his expertise. We saw the whole process of growing and producing coffee first hand and capped it off with a tasting at the end. thank you! We would highly recommend staying here.

I had a great time staying at Hacienda Guayabal last month. I went there mostly to learn more about coffee and the tour I was given was amazing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. The place itself is very quiet and with a beautiful view over the coffee plantations, where I took several walks. The food was delicious, with different options every day. I would definitely recommend it!

This is a must do for coffee (and nature) lovers! Situated out of Chinchina in the mountains and  surrounded by coffee plants this place provides everything you need for a few relaxed days in Colombia. Rich breakfast (accompanied by high quality coffee of course) was included and tasty lunch and dinner offered for a very reasonable price. If you are there, you have to participate in the coffee tour and learn everything about this buzzing beverage (from planting over cultivating to roasting and brewing). The coffee farm is family run and I was overwhelmed by their warm welcome and care throughout my stay. Highly recommended!
