We had a great stay over the Labor Day Weekend. Nice place with good view and easy access to the beach.

Our family took a beach vacation at this lovely location - the deck was perfect for reading and listening to the waves. Everything was set up nicely for guests with all the house things and beach things you could need. I would chose this property again!

Had a great time. The property was every bit as good as advertised, exceptionally well provisioned, and Julie couldn’t have done more to make our arrival and stay as smooth as possible.

This property was wonderful; the view from the deck alone is reason enough to rent this house! The hosts obviously anticipated anything and everything that you might need and even checked in with us halfway through our stay to make sure everything was satisfactory. The house was very clean and steps away from the beach. Close enough to access shopping along the sea wall but far away enough to avoid the crowds. Since our dogs were welcome, we were able to enjoy morning and evening walks on the beach with them. We brought our own fishing rods buts they even had some at the house as well. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to everyone else!

The Xanadu Beach house was the perfect getaway for us. The house is in a great location. It's not too close to the busyness of the Seawall but close enough in case you need to run in for something. It has beautiful beach views and super easy access to the beach. The host was SUPER accommodating and easy to work with, not to mention the nice welcome with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. The house is clean and organized with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is well stocked for anyone wanting to cook meals. We enjoyed our time immensely. Hoping to go back real soon.

Decided to spend my birthday at the beach this year with the family and family dog. This place is a little gem. The house was exactly as expected and so was the wonderful view of the beach. The deck and seating was great for enjoying a cup of coffee outside in the morning or a glass of wine at night. In the afternoons, we enjoyed going for long walks on the beach with the dog. Perfect! We loved our stay and Julie was a very attentive host. Our last night, the power went out due to high winds and freezing weather, but the place was well-stocked with flashlights and extra blankets to get us through the cold night. Julie kept us informed of any status changes of the repair to the power until we left the next morning. We would definitely come back again! ...maybe just not during a freak arctic blast. 😂

Great location on the beach without traffic and ease of access to all island activities. The home is clean and comfortable and well equipped. The owner communicates well and ensured we had a good experience with the rental of her home.

We could not have asked for a better experience. The host was nothing short of amazing. The location is a short walk to the beach and was perfect for our three toddler grandchildren. We basically had the beach to ourselves, and the host thought of everything we might need. Going back next year!!

Xanadu cottage is a dream come true. The wonderful porch, with very comfortable chairs was the perefect spot for breakfast. People and bird watching was so much fun while we ate. Weather it was sunrise, sunset or an impending storm , the view of the sky and water was fantastic.. We loved being across the road {hardly traveled} frome the beach, allowing us to walk along the beach at will. Julie and Laurence were the most gracious hosts and so helpful. The house is equipped with everything you can imagine for your stay. The informative folder that Julie left answered any questions you might have.. We definately recommend it to everyone wishing to have a peaceful vacation by the beach. It is close enough to go any where you desire.on the island.

I hesitate to write such a review because then this place will always be booked and I will never get back! I have stayed in probably 20 different rental properties on island. This was hands down the best and ill tell you why. Others can equal the oceanfront location, space, and (maybe-this was not expensive expensive) price , but this place made me feel CARED for due to the owner and the amenities! Toilet paper for days! Fluffy,GOOD towels...for showers AND beach towels. Softest sheets, soft beds, comfortable snuggly throw blankets for lounging...the kitchen...all the tools you could want: including a pizza cutter! I know that seems obvious, but 9/10 rentals are missing this tool! She had SNACKS in the pantry, popsicles for the kids, cold juices and sodas and condiments ready to go. More ice and frozen ice packs for your cooler! Best of all: anything you could want for the beach: toys, umbrellas, canopy, chairs and a wagon to pull it all there!! This was a surprisd to me. You literally just need your swim suit and a toothbrush when packing. Best of all, it's dog friendly!! And not run down with pet hair on base boards, cheap couches and chewed furniture legs pet friendly-but a beautiful home! Easiest check in possible. Let us come early. Fast, kind replies with owner. Not far from town like Sea Isle so super easy for food delivery. Only things to note is that public beach parking is now encroached in front of the home (which owner was upfront about-worried we would change our mind) but for our stay, it was still uncrowded and peaceful ! Only improvement I'd suggest is some kind of shade for deck...I burn too easy! Maybe a motorized overhang? but it'd be too perfect then and I could not afford to stay here anymore, so I'll just wear my sun hat ;) Internet was great (i teleworked) AC great with ceiling fans galore, so many tv options to stream and best of all ,to my kids surprise, a whole armoire of games, art supplies and toys hidden away in the kitchen! This was a gem, a gift for me and my kids before going back to school(and the dogs too-got to run along the shore each sunset). Thank you to Julie & Laurence for sharing their beautiful home.

Mom wanted a house with a porch that overlooked to water. Dad wasn't sure about Galveston. But you know who wins those "discussions". So, Galveston it was and thanks to Julie and her adorable rental, we might just have made a convert out of him. Everything you could possibly need just steps from the beach. If you're looking to avoid people, I recommend a weekday stay of possible. The neighboring public beach can get a little busy but most of the week it was just a handful of people. We just loved our visit. Julie was a gracious and attentive hostess. We'll for sure consider renting again.

My family and I had a wonderful trip to Galveston/Bermuda Beach. This beautiful and comfortable house perfectly suited all of our needs, along with the added bonuses of the amazing views and close proximity to the beach. The owners were very responsive and such gracious hosts. The house is well-stocked with everything you could possibly need during a stay at the beach. We have visited the Galveston area for many years, and this was by far our favorite place to stay, We would absolutely love to stay here again in the future,

We loved staying here, the home and location were beautiful. Our favorite was sitting on the deck watching the tide come in during sunset. Host was fantastic, home had everything we needed and more. By far the best place we have ever stayed.

This is such a beautiful and well-cared home. Julie and Laurence are amazing hosts. They took care of everything, right from the well-stocked pantry to snacks and drinks and to the fresh flowers and a bottle of red wine. The views and the amenities that come with this home are outstanding! We will definitely be staying here again. We forgot a bag at the property by mistake, and Laurence was very kind and helped us by reviving the bag for us and meeting us halfway. Julie and Laurence definitely went above and beyond to make our vacation really special.

Great Beach house! This house comes with everything you need to have a great vacation! The views are spectacular! The owners were available to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this property!

The cottage was very clean and absolutely beautifully decorated. We have used VRBO rentals for over 10 years and this was one of the best furnished and stocked that we have ever used. Although many places state they sleep 8, quite often they are not stocked with towels, dinnerware, etc. to accommodate. We did' have that problem at all! Knowing many guests are traveling from out of the area, the cottage was fully furnished with paper products, toiletries, games and toys. The owner Julie had made the cottage homey and welcoming with the added touch of snacks, drinks and flowers. Although the beach isn't one of the prettiest, it was nice having a private area to sit, relax and enjoy the water and family. We will definitely visit again if in Galveston!

We stayed here with our 92 year old father, daughter and her family of 7. This home was located directly on the beach. It was fully stocked with essential supplies. There was a Kroger just minutes away. Julie was very accommodating and checked in with us throughout our stay. We took some really great family pictures, memories to last a long time. We will definitely make this our destination again.

The cottage is so cute. It has everything you need even if you forget to bring something, I bet it is here. The views are priceless and the neighborhood is quiet. This was my first time to a beach. We will definitely stay here again.

The house was great. What really surprised us was how well the house was stocked. We have stayed at Beachhouses in Galveston and basically had to go to Walmart and buy everything from dishes to pots and pans. Not this house. They had just about everything you could think off. The house is super clean and the beds are comfortable. The location is great. The beach was not crowded at all even on the weekend. Will stay here again. Five+ stars!

My family and I come to Galveston every year for our summer vacation. We’ve stayed all over the island and I can honestly say that this was the best time we’ve ever had here at this house!!!! The location is perfect and the hospitality was the best! Julie went above and beyond to answer any questions I had and made sure the house was clean and stocked with all of our needs. We had most definitely ~ the very best time here!! We loved that we could lay out on the deck and/or the beach and still be close enough to those who wanted to stay in. There’s really no better place to stay than right here! I hope we’re able to come back next year and stay here again!! I cannot say enough good things about our visit!!! It wasn’t just about the house or location for us, but the kindness that Julie showed to my family will bring us back through the years. This was truly the most amazing time ever! Everything was perfect!!! Do not continue your search anymore. Stop and stay here! You will not be disappointed!!

The beach house was beautifully decorated with an excellent location and amazing view!

This property far exceeded my families expectations. The Beach house is literally 50 steps to the beach. The house was fully stocked with everything needed and more. The hosts did not skip out on ANY details. The surrounding area is very peaceful and quiet. Even with a public beach right by the house. It was not busy. Sitting on the balcony and watching/listening to the waves in the early morning and evening was our highlight. By far, the best vacation my family has ever had. Worth every penny and more. We hope to return again soon!!!

I’ve been coming to this beach for 35 years and this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. Perfect location, quite neighbors and right on the beach. Julie was amazing to work with and we will definitely be back next year.

Julie was such a helpful and gracious host, she went above and beyond in every respect. I would be very happy to book with her again. The house was in such a great location, right on the beach and not far from downtown Galveston. The most negative thing about our stay was some bad weather, but everything else was very nice and we still enjoyed the house. The house was not quite as big as I expected, but was well layed out, and worked nicely for a group of girls. It was well stocked- from the kitchen, extra hygiene items, plenty of towels, beach toys, an outdoor table on the deck and below, and more. I appreciated Julie's attention to detail, the fridge was stocked with drinks, and there were even fresh flowers on the table.

Julie was an amazing host! From the time I booked the property until today when I checked out! She was pleasant and made sure we felt welcome the entire time we were in Galveston! Her property was immaculate! We were able to walk to the beach daily and we had the picture perfect view! I will definitely stay here again and would recommend anyone to book this home!

While we normally travel with the kids and grandkids, this trip was designated "us time". I have a comfortable knowledge of the island having been born there. This property caught my attention for two reasons, proximity to Seawall Blvd. and the rental price. Many beach house rentals require a 25-40 minute drive to reach the restaurants and entertainment district. Our much-desired location cut the travel time by 50%. Wonderful! This home is immaculate. Nice appointments. The air conditioner, washer, dryer, interior and exterior lighting, dishwasher, 'fridge, are all top-notch. Ample towels for a large gathering. Your hostess has gone to great lengths to make your stay effort-free. The only evening sounds you will hear are the gulf breeze and waves. Beautiful sunrise/sunset photo opportunities from the upper deck. The kiddos will be sufficiently impressed with the sand toys and wave boards available for beach play. An unobstructed view of the beach from the upper patio adds parental confidence. The beach is 60 seconds from the upper patio.One last comment: Galveston is well on her way to a wonderful recovery as she gingerly returns to a “new normal”. Shop owners, restaurateurs, and VRBO hosts are making Herculean efforts to revive an economy that greatly depends upon the tourist population. Now is the time to visit this historic city and if the beach is “your thing”, I highly recommend booking this stunning venue. P.S.
