We stayed at Shalimere for Mothers Day Weekend, and it was Perfect!!! The owners go above and beyond to make you and your dog feel welcomed. The house has everything we needed and then some to make us feel right at home. Our pup loved the basket of toys, and lounging on the gated-in wrap around deck with us. My only comment is that you don’t get 180 degree views like this without sacrificing some privacy…there are no fences here, and there are neighbors on all sides of you. Luckily for us, those homes were vacant and we were spoiled with a quiet neighborhood to ourselves! We will be back for sure!!! One of the best vacation rentals EVER!!

We really enjoyed our first visit to Shalimere! The home is very relaxing with gorgeous views of the ocean. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck and the hot tub is situated in a wonderful location where you can take in the amazing views. Took a nice walk on Irish beach and it was very clean and such a quiet and beautiful scenic private beach. The home is very dog friendly and our senior dog was comfy and happy. There aren’t many restaurant options in Point Arena and they close early but we did enjoy Franny’s bakery and Point Arena pizza. We bought bottled water to make coffee and tea. You’ll def want to bring your food/snacks from home as the local market had higher priced items but great for things you need if you forget anything. I will definitely plan to cook most meals on my next visit. Trillium restaurant in Mendocino was excellent but be sure to make reservations when you arrive to assure you get the earlier time slot as it’s a 35-40 min drive each way. Dining earlier allows getting back before it gets too dark. We recommend visiting the lighthouse as there are incredible photo ops! I would NOT recommend taking the Mountain View road that looks like a short cut through the mountains on the map! It’s extremely winding and has very narrow roads. Follow the directions and take the suggested route thru 128 towards Navarro it’s much safer!

We traveled with our best friends to stay for a week in this gorgeous home. It has all the amenities that you can think of & a few extra! The view was amazing. We liked the rocker glider on the deck so much that we ordered one to be delivered when we got home as did our besties who were traveling with us. It was so nice to just have the peace and quiet and the view of the ocean. We all needed a break and we got exactly that. The hosts were amazing to communicate with. We are hoping that we can make this a yearly thing. One of the other reviews mentioned a road that you do not want to take to the property and I’m pretty sure that’s the road my darling husband found and we never want to go on again-even though the scenery was gorgeous, there was wayyyy too many twists & turns! 😬 You can not go wrong with this rental. ❤️

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Manchester, including drives up to Mendocino and Ft. Bragg. On a clear day, the coast line is breathtaking. I will add that if you are heading to that area of the coast, you should definitely avoid taking Mountain View Road to get over the coastal range. It is a terrifying drive and should be closed to everyone other than locals.

Beautiful home and very cozy. The home has ocean views with only one row of homes in front of it that are truly ocean front. You can hear the surf and have access to Irish Beach because you're part of the community. Also great if you have dogs with lots of toys and a crate. I would absolutely stay here again!

A simple, well maintained, cozy, and lovely place to stay near the ocean. The view is amazing! White water, and a lighthouse! You can hear the waves crashing on the beach. The house is clean, very cozy, and comfortable. The bed is exceptionally comfortable. A good mattress that's not too soft or too firm, SUPER soft sheets, electric bedding that pre-warms the bed for you, assures a VERY good nights sleep! The gas fireplace, is easy to use, and provides a warm heat without overheating. We sat and watched the sunset through the big windows that overlook the ocean. Such a magical, beautiful, and relaxing place to be. This was our 4th stay there, and we will continue to come back. Such a treat to have such a lovely place to relax and enjoy the gorgeous northern coast! THANK YOU for sharing your lovely home with us!

A nice house in a good neighborhood with a view of the ocean - great. The house is 15 minutes north of Pt. Arena, where we fed lettuce to giraffes. We spent most of our time in Mendocino and walking the beaches near there. The master bedroom has the better shower; the other bedroom the more comfortable bed. Deer and quail inthe yard. Very quiet.

Just a WONDERFUL stay. Neighborhood was quiet, views were just AMAZING. Lots of Wildlife. Neighbors were friendly. Got to watch Whales feeding and breaching from the house. The house was Cozy, the gas/propane stove worked GREAT. The kitchen was friendly to cook and prepare foods. You could sit inside or outside on the deck to hear and watch the waves crashing. Spectacular views. This place was VERY welcoming for our Border Collies. Host was very responsive. I'm sure we will be returning. Mike & Debbie

Shalimar is such a lovely home! The ceilings alone are amazing and hypnotize you. The ocean views are to die for! This is the perfect place for children. Our 3 year old boy absolutely loved the reading nook. We all played at the ocean every day and the tide pools were so much fun. For adults the kitchen was amazing! A very comfortable, quiet, lovely home. Michelle was one of the best home owners I’ve ever communicated with through vrbo. She responded to all my emails and questions. She is just an overall lovely person who really cares about her home and providing the best experience for her renters. You won’t be disappointed.

Loved Shalimere and would return again and again! Gorgeous views of the Pacific and the coastline. Comfortable, cozy, well-equipped house. And...quiet. The hosts were warm, friendly, and quick to respond to messages. And our dog had a blast on the (seemingly endless) beach.

The private beach was amazing! Check in was super easy! Beautiful sunsets! Kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfy! Great communication too! We used the hot tub every night! This home is definitely dog friendly which we knew in advance but we didn’t expect there to be a pet smell. Wish the couch was big enough for the four of us too!

We love staying at the Shalimere! We have stayed here a few times over the years. It has a great location with a wonderful ocean view. The house is well stocked. You can sit and enjoy the ocean view from the deck, hot tub or living room. It was so nice to get away from the summer heat. We love that the deck is gated so our fur baby could come out and enjoy it with us. Dave & Michelle are fantastic hosts. I'm sure we will be back.

Michelle and Dave are great hosts. The home is well stocked and well designed. The neighborhood is quiet peaceful and friendly. The deer come through in the morning and evening. It is a great location close to Mendocino and Ft Bragg. The Manchester Market has an good selection of groceries wine hardware and camping supplies. We will return for another stay.

Excellent quiet location. There are not many dinning options close by, so plan to drive, or you can stop at the local grocery store and cook in. We did both and had a great time.

What more can we say, this is a place to return to again and again. Well appointed, comfortable fantastic view and a hot tub to soak it all in. Deer and foxes play about and the sounds of the waves put you right to sleep.

Close to beach, horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, cycling, state beaches parks and reserves. Close to whatever you want but not to close to impact pure quiet peace and relaxation. Perfect get a way. The home has everything you need (plus).
