Amazing host doing the job with his heart! We arrived in the morning, but he allowed us to park at the property and gave us a lot of excellent tips about the surrounding. The location was simply gorgeous. There is a Plitvice river behind the building, where you can walk to and enjoy this peaceful place. There is also a pleasant journey (a shortcut) leading directly to one of the nicest views of Plitvice Lakes (it is about a 10-15-minute walk). There are many great restaurants around. We highly recommend Plitvica Lodge!!! Believe us, it is worth visiting the restaurant! The room itself was very nicely designed, comfortable and equipped. We appreciated the kettle thus we could prepare our own drinks.

The host is super friendly and welcoming, ready to help when needed. Definitely, one of the best we experienced. Breakfast can be ordered and paid separately, with fresh ingredients from the garden and surrounding farms. Really tasty and good price. Great tips in what to visit in the park and where to eat. Great initiative in renovating the house and renting it our to guests visiting the park!

Due to the studio/large room was in the attick, the lack of air conditioning and the high temperatures > 30 C, it was only possible to be in the room after dinner. I may have missed that information when booking the room. There are 3 rooms in the property, one in the ground floor, and 2 in the attick. One in the attick has a kitchen and the other does not.

Got a free upgrade to a suite room :). The host is super helpful and it has all the tips about where and how to get around the area.

Bojan was very friendly and always keen to give us tips about the trails and restaurants around Plitvice Lakes. The apartment was really well located and well equipped! We really loved our stay.

There is only a handheld shower. It would have been even better if there was a hook so that your hands were free.

the house is very near the lakes, there was a little mistake with our number that’s why the Owner gave us even better and bigger number, they also have breakfast, the stuff is very pleasant and nice, they showed us everything told about how and where should we visit, service is nice 👍

we has a great stay the apartment ist super near to the national park and there are a lot of other hosts offering dinner. the breakfast was delicious and everything was clean and relaxed. Dusan was a really nice and supporting host. he gave us great tips regarding what to visits and where to go and even helped when we got slightly lost while searching for the right park entrance 😄 we stayed a few days and never even had to drive back down to get groceries. for general information: make sure to by the tickets to the park online in advance as the main entrance is on the other side roughly 13km from the back entrance near the apartment. its not possible to buy the 2-day ticket at the park entrance only online.

make sure to rent a car or to bring lots of time if you decide to walk up to the apartment 😄

We honestly expected more for what we paid: the room finishings were disappointing and the room didn’t have everything the ad offered (shampoo, soap, kettle and tea, free toiletries).

it is nearby entrance 3 of the plitvic lakes. Also the host was very nice! He gave us advice for the best route to the lakes, and also restaurant tips in the neighbourhood. Breakfast was superb, not to much over the top. But just enough and very good!

Very close to the lakes and waterfalls so we could leave our car there and walk down. Dusan, the host, knows everything there is to know about the area and was very helpful.

Spacy room in a quiet area, next to the national Park. The breakfast for 10€ was good. The owner was friendly and he had good Tips for our stay.

AMAZING host, very accommodating, picked us up and dropped us off at the bus stop. Gave us lots of info about the park and best route to take to avoid crowds and queuing!! Nice room with balcony. couldn’t recommend enough!!

struggled a bit for food options nearby as we didn’t have a car but the host gave us 3 nearby helped us out to book one of them!

The breakfast was really good, the host was amazing and the location is very close to the park. The host gave us some great recommendations and was very helpful and nice.

If u go by bus be aware that u need to either book a taxi or go through the park (you need a ticket for this). Not really a downside of this apartment but nice to know if you are going there by bus.

it’s only short walking distance to the Plitvice national park, also Bojan the person runs business is extremely helpful. He looks after all of us just like our family. Such a great guy with a warm heart. if we go back to Plitvice, I will definitely go back to this accommodation. Super Highly Recommended!!

My visit to the Plitvice Lakes National Park is been, thanks to the House by the River Team hospitality and the location perfect. The Park represents the oldest and the largest national park in the Republic of Croatia, so don't miss to visit it from the House on the River and do not scare in ask for tip's and insights to the owner, a really pleasent and competent local home-made man!

Bit complex to find as roads and places are not really and clearly indicated. Nevertheless, this affects all area, not the Hause by the River amenity.
