We arrived an hour early and we were told we could go in early. It actually snowed that weekend which wasn’t expected but it was fun anyway. Dogs loved the snow and the warm lake. The humming from the power plant is only noticeable if windows are open. I really enjoyed our stay and I feel this will be a vacation spot for years to come.

We had a great time. Unfortunately weather was cold and we couldn’t be outside as much as we wanted. However we made the best of it with the fun board games provided and cooked some delicious meals in the kitchen that was well stocked for cooking! Overall had a blast and the house was perfect for all of us to be together.

Nice cabin by the lake and felt like you were secluded. We stayed in February but looks like it would be fun during the summer and all the water activities. House was good and worked well for our group of 2 couples.

This cabin made for a perfect short getaway for me and my wife! The view of the lake is wonderful, and we were there after a snowfall which added to the atmosphere. The cabin was a great space to just cozy up and relax for a few days. The pen attached to the house gave our dog a chance to run around, and it was wonderful being able to bring him along with us.

We had a great time at the lake house. The house is clean and well equipped with all essentials. We went to Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods and chair lift at Canaan Resort…..beautiful fall foliage. We had breakfast every morning looking at the lake. We ate out twice Sirianni’s Cafe & Wicked Widerneds Pub…good food & service. Goodbye West Virginia! The Hacker’s From NJ!

When we got to the house we found the deck in need of some refurbishment. Upon entering we noticed the house didn't smell clean, had an off putting odor. The kitchen counters, stove, and microwave looked as if they were cleaned with a dirty rag. Ok, that can happen with a sub par cleaning agency. The end all was finding curly hairs in the tub. I contacted the owner and found out that her cleaner didn't show so she did what she could before we arrived. That made us question absolutely how clean anything was. I went to Dollar General, bought cleaning supplies and gloves and cleaned the house. Day two my friend had a reaction to something in his bedroom and we ended up at the Urgent Care in Moorefield. We narrowed it down to his room as he was fine in the rest of the house and outdoors. For the rest of the stay he slept on the sofa. The bathroom vanity cabinet glass is broken, the walls need touch up, screens are missing in the windows, grates are rusty and the fan in the living room and most surfaces were were dusty. Some folks mentioned the hum of the power plant but that was a non issue for our group. We actually thought it was eerily cool as were the wind turbines. There wasn't any swimming in the lake from the house as there are large rocks beneath the water but just seeing the beauty of the lake each morning was wonderful. The owners have a diamond in the rough, as the house has a nice location that is central to a lot of cool trails and adventures.

We came with 2 fur babies. They love to swim and indeed they did. We lucked out with great weather.Had a wonderful time!

We had a very relaxing stay - we were the only ones on the property all week. Having easy access to the lake was certainly a plus for us. The cabin was well-equipped with everything we needed to make us feel at home for the week.

We had a great stay at the cabin, the lake was the perfect space for the kids to fish, swim, and for us adults to sun bathe. Nice cabin quiet neiborhood

Had a wonderful time over Memorial Day weekend. Weather wasn't what we'd hoped, but we still enjoyed ourselves kayaking, fishing and hanging out by the fire. We'll be back!

I hesitate to tell anyone how wonderful our stay was because I selfishly want to keep this rental a secret!! It’s absolutely perfect for my family and friends and we can’t wait to go back! Directly on the water, quiet neighborhood, dog friendly, close to Davis, Blackwater Falls State Park and the best of all, Dolly Sods! The house is comfortable, inviting and has all the necessities! The host is quick at answering any questions.

My mother, her dog, and I enjoyed a 3-day peaceful getaway. The humming sound of the power plant was the perfect white noise for sleeping. The owners' quick response to our communication was A+. There is no cell service at the house and none for miles but there is wifi at the house that gives you all to connectivity that is needed. It was perfect for our needs this time, and hopefully, we shall return again in the future.

This was our first time visiting the lake and we couldn’t have been more pleased. The property is awesome. We felt very welcomed and were able to settle into a relaxing stay right away. Getting the boat in and out of the water was a breeze with the private boat launch right there. We’ve already started talking about returning.

Property as disclosed on VRBO. Clean and spacious and met our needs for the week with our 2 pups. Lake was great for swimming for our dogs. Just be watchful of the goose poop. Before using outdoor grill, make sure you check the propane tank. We found an alternative way of preparing dinner that night. Hosts were very accommodating and responded promptly to our questions before and during our stay. Location was great since we hiked every day and is within 30 minutes of many trails. Would definitely stay here again!

My family and I had a wonderful experience and stay. The hosts were great and responsive and the place was as described. Great location on the lake and only 20 minutes away from the mountain towns of Davis and Thomas. Will come again!!

I was with my family and although we had been in the snow, never in a place like this, very quiet, space to walk and beatiful views.
